@@suchabadkitty1293 Calm down, i think you're missing the point. Did she pick out someone and attributed the traits of race to them because of race? That would be stereotyping. What she did was generalize. Can't do without it, we wouldn't see the big picture without it. Categorization is inevitable to organize your thoughts, never mind the debating and presenting your idea to others.
She's right about color-blindness being a regressive thing. Pretending there is no difference among people of any different backgrounds is plain false. Ignoring differences is just stupid. I guess you're also american, as dogma about races and racism is so messed up in your nation, it's sometimes ridiculous reading it.
I didn't hear nothing offensive, and critique of society done honestly is generally a necessary thing for everyone. If loving, truthful, well thought trough discourse offends you, it is purely your, and only your problem. Not your fault, as media and society around you have etched these notions of offense and trigger words into your subcouncious from your birth. Getting over them an having a fresh view is your choice - take it or not. Just don't dis the very people trying to get our sick society to grow out of this bs. Now, that's stereotyping.

I dont need stereotyping explained to me by a triggered mess such as yourself, thanks. She stereotyped entire groups of people. Black AND white. Its just a fact, whether you believe it or not. Sounds like you're the one who has a problem.

These statements? Ok,... nobody uses those shampoos. You think those are for whites? I think she is mad at the wrong people. Not all white people are oppressors. None of these issues seem color related to me. But she see seems extremely racist against whites. If you want good stuff on your hair, no matter your color, you go to a specialty shop. I don't cry, I just go. Period. Oh and btw I have at least one from every country and color in my family, and most people do, im all colors and races, so what am i. good luck Pushing hate about colors, none of us are pure im sure. "Black people have never been rich in America" For someone so "woke" I'm shocked at how very little this woman knows about her history. There were places all over America that Booker T. Washington and W.E. Dubois labeled "Black Wall Street." Pre-Civil War there were free blacks in the North that were quite wealthy, and even post Civil War.

We all have to pretend to like people around us regardless of skin color. I found the comment about white people needing to love other white people regardless of how terrible white people really are, appalling . You are entitled to sell your home to whom ever you want and you don’t have to feel guilty because your parents left you an inheritance. As far as time is concerned , on time is on time and your own fluid interpretation does not dictate the reality of time. Hotels don’t have to get special shampoo for Black hair, neither do they have to get shampoo for oily hair or dyed hair or thin hair. The rest of the world is not responsible for internalizing the dynamics of your family or your community. It’s your responsibility to learn our common culture, and yes our common culture is heavily influenced by European Judeo-Christian Western values because the USA is and has always been a white majority. We don’t need to apologize for this reality. It’s dismissive and condescending to say white students in advanced classes are not really more intelligent or gifted. It may be that these classes should contain more Black and Brown students but this doesn’t mean we need to diminish the achievements of white students. If your kid’s friends were drinking, the probability of him drinking as well is rather high. Furthermore, police officers showing interest in your child is not a negative thing, unless that’s the spin you want to put on it. You didn’t say anything that substantiated the idea that the police were harassing your son. Oh and I’m not white.

Your right. and i really don't believe her kid didn't drink with his friends . Just my thoughts. Many people today have this sense of entitlement for whatever reason . I have never heard of a police officer bothering a kid that was sitting at a bench studying, or drinking a soda with a hamburg., They just don't do it. Regardless of what color they are. What bothers me is the same as you. If people had jobs and were watching over their kids , making sue they studied etc. Telling them they have to respect adults . (Teachers , priests, police, parents, etc) it would help . instead of telling them they arent going to be treated the same as other races. Who could look at the a child and say that? Yea..if your going to be a gang member . go around robbing people, skipping school ..doesn't matter what race you are your not going to be too popular . There's no reason for all this race talk. It onlt creates problems that shouldn't be there . There's whites too that make it a family tradition to stay on welfare. Think nothing of it. WE pay higher taxes so they can. The middle class gets the cake in the face always. The rich don't care, and the people that don't want to work don't either.

I'm an Afro-Caribbean male born in the UK and raised in Jamaica, It still surprises me that talks like this gets responses like I've seen, both positive and negative. I've come to realize a few things over the years:-(1) no one with absolute power relinquishes it willingly or helps people deemed lower than themselves without having a hidden agenda so I say to people of colour, stop looking for reparation, 40 acres and a mule etc. It's not going to happen. (2) We need to educate our children but focus on Economics and Politics, 2 of the most influencial aspects of Western society. When we concentrate on these things, we'll learn to work for and by ourselves and stop having expectations of other people including our own. Politics is important to learn to govern ourselves and to negotiate with other nations. Let's face it, Japan was down after the 2nd World War but are not anymore. Yes, we may have been down for longer but we need to broaden our horizon and look to Africa. With a good business plan, you can build a Blue Chip Company in Africa in FIVE YEARS! Go to Africa on a vacation and see for yourself how much development is going on there, not just by the Chinese but various projects all over Africa. It is not stricken with poverty like the media will tell you. I am a strong believer in the thinking that injustice, racism, victimization of any sort are clear indications of you not being wanted around so why stay? To fight for equal rights and justice only to be told you should grateful to be around them in THEIR COUNTRY, a land they stole and a people they victimized and killed then enslaved YOUR ANCESTORS? Stop being like a dog sitting by your slavemaster's table begging for scraps. The people today may not be the slavemasters of yesteryear but they and their have benefitted from slavery indirectly through the advent of the Industrial Revolution financed by slave money to what it is today. The society is built on the psychology of exploitation so to fight it is futile, everyone who has buck the system are targeted and humiliated then destroyed and what they have fought for destroyed by the powers that be :- they give you with one hand then take it back with the next. So, just work towards a better you by loving yourself, believing in yourself and strive to know yourself....not what people tell you, knowing your true self is knowing God/Allah/Jah/Eloh/, whatever you call the Divine Source of all that is because that is your essence. Your greater than what you have been told, good or bad, you are greater that so return home like the prodigal son and remember your greatness!

Do you know why I don't spend a lot of my free time searching for unicorns? Because I've never seen any conclusive proof that unicorns exist. It's for this same reason that I don't get "more excited about Jesus". I'd honestly like to know why you believe that the books in the Bible are accurate accounts of actual events. Because the Bible says it's true?
If you know your Bible then you know 1st Peter 3:15..." Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have"
So what's your reason as an intelligent, reasonable and logical adult who has had the benefit of at least 12 years of primary education? Faith? What good is faith? Faith is belief in the absence of evidence. If someone asked you to prove something and you had irrefutable evidence, you'd merely present the evidence and be done with it, you wouldn't need faith at all. Isn't knowing whether something is true or not important to you?

When I was in high school, my friend, who was black, was named Gayle. A black boy in school was named Timothy. I also have a friend named Marsha, and worked with a guy named Walter. Average names, right? Their names were very common in the past. Black girls always had names such as Amy. She alludes to the fact that her parents gave her a name that sounded white so she could get as far as job interviews. I'm thinking that Whitney Houston had opportunities opened to her because of her fabulous voice, rather than her name! Anyone can name their children whatever name pleases them. However, it's only in the past few decades that names such as Loquacia, Beyonce, Raven, Ebony, etc...have been used abundantly. My daughter knew a girl in Philadelphia named Lemonisha. Yes, her mother loved lemons during her pregnancy. You understand the point I'm trying to make here.

The fact that you listed the names the way you did in your post suggests that Gayle, Timothy and Marsha would be called before Lemonisha. You "know" immediately she is probably not a Caucasian and because of her name any ideas or experiences you have had with women of color will automatically come into play BEFORE YOU EVEN SORT THE STACK OF RESUMES!
It is a sad reality, even today, POC are limited in ways white people are not able to see because the issues don't effect us, we haven't had the experiences. Knowing it happens is a start and acknowledging it happens is the bare minimum.

We don't need any black person standing up and telling white people what we like or want or what we don't like or what we don't want. Each black person should speak for herself. None of them speak for me. The only truth one person can speak for an entire group or race is that all of us expect to be treated with respect and fairness.

Beautifully articulated? Why would you expect less? This sounds as if you were expecting less than perfect articulation. All people of color do not speak street language. Im 65 and have a MS Degree. All though out college n job interviews I heard, " you speak so well, your articulation is perfect",. Yes, it really bothered me. Why do Caucasians expect Hispanics or blacks to speak differently, if we are all Americans and attended school in the USA? Would you say "beautifully articulated" to a white speaker? I do not intend to be mean in my response, just bringing out how words and the true meaning are interpreted by a non caucasian, though you may not have meant anything negativity it. Me, I treat EVERYONE the same. (black, white,Hispanic, etc ) I don't say something to one group, that I wouldn't say to another. Please let me know your views. Best way to take care of a problem is to discuss it. 😊

I am 72 years old, white and grew up in northeast, Ohio. Went to college at the U of Ark. (Fayetteville). My father had brown eyes. my mother had blue. I was the youngest daughter and brown eyes, with 8 brothers and one sister, she the oldest. We had a mix of blonde hair w/ blue eyes and brown hair and brown eyes. I believe I was 2 to 3 years old when I a friend of my mother was sitting at the table and they were having coffee. She was the first black lady I remember noticing and was enchanted looking at her. Her skin that was beautiful dark brown. As a youngster and as maybe 2 to 3 years old?.... I was captivated. They were talking about dollies and potholders and whatever?
After their coffee and the lady lift. I asked my mom why her skin was brown? She told me it was the color she was born with, but that's just color and we are all the same/ like I have brown eyes and others have blue. So, I understood. My brothers also had friends of color they would bring in to eat cookies and then go back out to play baseball or go to the creek to try to catch frogs or maybe a turtle. I was " just a girl" by then and they did not let me go with them. However when I grew a little bigger they did teach me to be a stand in...when there were not enough boys to play baseball. When I was in school one of my black girlfriends would hang out with me and even called my mother, MOM" too. She and I would go with my mom at times to stores. We would go off looking to find whatever , see my mom and say "Hi, Mom", both of us, sometimes still at a good distance. I am sure others heard us. We lived in a small town and went to church and with all the children in my family...we were well known, our church was mixed with all colors of people. Big church to me with over 500 regulars every Sunday. I never saw or heard of any racism. Everyone were just people, trying to live happy good lives. At 15 years old, we moved to LA county, Ca. I went to church camp for 1 week that summer...life was still normal in my world.. Last day, morning service had an add on news event. While we were there at campgrounds and now wishing we could stay another week before our parents were to arrive. We were told there had been a riot in Watts.. burning etc. I was so shocked and could hardly imagine any of it. Then my first year as a junior in high school. Students began fighting on the school campus between White and Mexican students. One of my first friends there was literally so beautiful that first time I saw her, I thought she was what angels probably look like. She was a Mexican and we became friends. I figured she was so pretty she would be in a click of friends that only those entitled could be part of. She was just beautiful and not in such clicks.....She did not seem to be aware of her beauty . I was not aware yet that others / White and Mexicans were hateful to one another with out any judgement to their characters. Many years later a blonde blue eyed woman and I became friends. One day she told be a nasty rude joke about Mexicans. She laughed, and looked at me and said, what's the matter ? Didn't you think that was funny ? NO, It's terrible and not funny at all! I answered. She said ok, it was a test, because I am a Mexican and wanted to let you know and so you can meet my family and they do look Mexican. These were from Ohio, California, and Oregon, I also at another point in my life I lived in Memphis, Tennessee. I worked in a mall and got to know the mall daytime janitor,. She would take her breaks near the shop I worked in when I had my breaks. We sat in a seating area and just chatted as I smoked my cigarette. We became friends...oh, I forgot to tell. She was black. Later, I worked in a ware house and made another good friend there, was also black . I also during these times had white friends too. However while I lived in Tennessee, a new situation happened when I accepted the job at the mall, my new boss was telling me what my duties would be. Normal stuff. Then he told me to park my car as close to the exit door and under a street light. If I was worried at all to get security to escort me to my car. This was so no black man would rape me. I was totally surprised., but thought he was a racist. Then as chance would have it I had to walk to work one day. The way took me past some apartment building. Next thing I know there were some black men calling out to me some sexual, nasty stuff and scared me. First time in my life to experience this and than think my boss was right that I should be careful and stay alert., day or night. This has become a short charter instead of comment. What I wanted to say is parents need to teach the children that we are all the same no matter colors etc. I still have a wonderful black lady friend. I live in Ca. She lives in Chicago. We have stayed in touch years now. She is amassing, wonderful friend, a mom and her entire family is close. They are Christians' and live it. she has nothing to gain or reason to pretend we are friends. None of my friends of different color, one oriental friend not in this above narration, also still in my life, has anything to gain to pretend for in being my friend. We live long distances away but still stay in contact, as friends. I have never made friends with anyone unless we simply really got along and shared our ups or downs. I like this speaker but do not like that she said they pretend to be white peoples' friends. Maybe some of them are fakes but to include all of them is creating distrust in its self. Just try to love one another is the answer. at least this part did come out.

My daughter and I helped a black woman and her young son ,about 8 years old, when her car broke down in a small Texas town. She was from St. Louis. I found out about 3 hours into our new relationship that initially she was afraid of us. I didn't know I was scaring her. By the time we parted ways she told me that she would tell those in her church how white small town people had treated her well. My point here is that ALL people bring racism to the table. She had a preconceived idea of how she would be treated by white folks. She applied her past experiences to the current situation and she was wrong. It is human nature to fear what we don't know or understand. We both learned alot about each other's race that day. Follow God's laws and love your neighbor.

I think the problem isn’t that the poverty is the trauma. I think it’s that the trauma keeps recurring by people who do not know how to stop traumatizing other people. As a white person I listen to what white people say when there are no others around. We didn’t enslave anybody, we didn’t kidnap anybody, we never burned any crosses, we never refused to hire… We never we never we never. And yet I can sit in a restaurant with white people in my own family and have the little, snot nose, white server, turn to one of the children and ask what I want. What does she want? Sometimes I’m the oldest and most employed one in the group and I pick up the check. What a surprise. I think every group has dominant and non-dominant aspect. Every group gets picked out a little bit. White people probably not so much but fortunately white people also belong to other groups. They are female sometimes, have disabilities, have blindness, belong to non-standard religions, espouse nonstandard gender identities. When you feel guilty about being white because of the trauma that we tend to keep perpetrating on others, look around for your own group. I think the more we consider ourselves alike, the easier it will be to stop this nonsense in the long run. The blacks are the blind, the whites are the sighted. And yet there are seeing Black people and blind white people. Use the differences to relate.

This statement DOES translate over. This tells me she as probably only experienced "city life" mostly in her life. If you go to a smaller town one thing people with notice if they are from a larger town/city is how many people simply wave at you or give you a head nod that means exactly the same as she described.
She talks about "culture" as being owned by different ethnic groups but "people" living in different areas have different "cultures". The biggest "well known" culture divide amongst people of the same race in the US is Northern and Southern "culture". A white person living in New York City lives in and has a complete different "culture" and abides by completely different "social rules" than a white person living in a smaller more rural town.
So..... If Amy comes here and gives me a "head nod", not only would I understand what it "means" but she would get one back that means the exact same thing!

I never heard of any Black person who does not also do so, but now I know!) 😆The "time" point was also moot --- one cannot compare professional standards of "being on time" to not arriving on time for parties. 🙂Black Economic scholars assert (& I agree) that healing U.S. (& world) economic disparities between White vs. Black people will affect the most profound changes. Overall, however, Amy's message is potent and powerful, especially ideas related to dissolving economic disparities.

I tried to listen to this, but right off of the bat I was turned off- everything that this woman says is actually (WITHOUT HER EVEN KNOWING IT) divisive and stereotypical... When she THINKS that she is speaking against such things. I do not agree with there being white or black names, a name is a name... and phrases such as "do you know my people"? When I say "my people", I am referring to HUMANS. I consider all people as individuals and judge only based on my personal compatibility or chemistry with that person, their skin tone is inconsequential. I hate when anyone of ANY color says things like MY PEOPLE. If you say "your people" are only people of a specific color, you are automatically separating yourself from other people. ALL people are my people. Even if I don't like you, you have a right to exist and I will defend you even by laying down my life to protect you. But, if I don't like you, you can take it to the bank that it has absolutely NOTHING to do with the tone of your fucking skin, as that is absolutely infantile. There should be NO RACIAL LINES, because in reality there are no racial lines, we are ALL of the human race. We have been pre-programmed to draw these imaginary lines. All of the problems that she discusses here, are BECAUSE OF THESE IMAGINARY LINES!!!! Until everyone learns to stop thinking in these terms, these racial divides will exist. The only way to stop that is to stop separating ourselves. I do not look at any man or any woman as a white or black person, JUST a PERSON. I grew up in a diverse area, and was never taught to separate. I thank God that I don't have to be burdened with such nonsense. The thought of a persons color never enters my mind until people like her PUT IT THERE. Stop separating ourselves and all of this nonsensical racism goes away.

Decolonization? That is a joke... have people going around apologizing for something that they were never responsible for? I never did a wrong thing to anyone in my life based on the color of their skin, and if I saw someone being discriminated against, or even thought that that might be happening, I was the first to stand up and do something about it. If she believes that politicians are going to fix race relations, she is sadly mistaken... they fuel the hate, even if unintentionally... when you go around telling an entire group of people that they need to apologize for something, all that is going to do is piss off the ones responsible for the hate in the first place causing them to retaliate further, and alienate others, to appease one group of people... when we shouldn't be thinking in terms of "groups" in the first place. If everyone stopped drawing these imaginary lines and grouping ourselves, the old generation of haters will die off and the new mindset becomes the norm. One race... the HUMAN race.

  • @ejisyopicus8988
    @ejisyopicus8988 7 років тому +5

I like her tone and speaking skills, but she is just wrong about most of what she is saying. For example, two(edit, six) points she makes.
    1. She talks about shampoo bottles in hotels, having a wide discussion wouldn't change this, what changes this is the open market and whether a hotel thinks having an "ethnic" shampoo would generate more profits, if it does, then the hotels that have "ethnic" shampoos would eventually replaced all the ones that don't, if it doesn't generate more profits, then it won't change. And the thing is it doesn't, and so it hasn't change for a very, very long time. Also on this topic, black people don't "NEED" to use specific hair products, in fact they don't need to use any hair products at all, it is a choice.
    2. She mentions that housing contracts discriminating based on race still exists, this is illegal and no longer exists. She also says that even if it isn't in the contract that white people still intentionally only sell to other white people, this is just a blatant show of her lack of knowledge of how the housing market works. When a house is sold, the seller in most cases doesn't even know the race of the buyer because it is mediated between two parties, the buying agent and selling agent, and two, sellers generally don't care what race the buyer is even if they somehow knew, they just want to take the highest offer so they can get the most money for the sale.
    edit:
    3. the "wage gap" is actually an "income gap". There is no wage gap and women don't make less than men that have the same jobs, and the same goes for black women. Bringing this up also just shows a blatant lack of knowledge of interpreting the statistics and what they mean in a practical sense in the world.
    4. She is wrong about "special" and "honors" classes. They are based on merit, usually some form of aptitude test. Race has nothing to do with it. Merit, being the exact thing Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. says he dreamed of a world where people were judged not upon the color of their skin but their merit.
    5. She is wrong about the education system. First, it's a joke and doesn't teach people how to be successful in a capitalist society, so it's in many ways a waste of time for most people no matter how good the education is(talking about public education system). Second, she is wrong about blacks being traumatized because they don't learn about "their" people being successful. Only racist kids would look at it that way, instead of learning that Americans were successful and so because they are also american, they can be successful.
    6. White people is america have also always been poor. You could make the argument that, there have always been rich white people, but the same thing is true of blacks, throughout the entirety of american history, there has ALWAYS been rich black people, probably starting the the first slave providers, which were all black people, selling their black slaves the white Americans.
    7. Her son questioning her and what she took from it is just wrong. A person's appearance, and therefor what they wear DOES matter. So telling her son, what he is wearing doesn't matter is just wrong. A black man, or any man for that matter, dressed in a way that looks professional will generally almost always be treated in a way you would expect any professionally dressed person to be treated by a stranger, regardless of race.
    8. She is wrong about her reasoning why people "like" people that look like then, this has been scientifically proven to be rooted in biology and is not a cultural element or as she puts it, part of "colonization".
This woman is out of time, she is stuck in the racism that she experience as a child in the 70's and thinks it still exists today, it doesn't.
As nice as this woman's disposition is and she would probably at least seem to be a pleasant woman to talk to, she is patently racist. She says many thing that are racist statements in this video and I would be very surprised if she in fact believed nothing of what she says, unless she is lying and doesn't believe what she is saying, she is racist.

Lumping us all together as if we are all from the same backgrounds, is racist..Like in Africa there are different regions and cultures as well not all black Africans abide by the same code as one another ,in fact, different groups have very different cultures to one another ,why should it be any different among whites? Also when I named my kids I picked names that I thought would be good for their future as well , that is not something only blacks do or think about when naming their kids..I also don’t think that hotels want to be in the beauty supply business they don’t supply hair oil just like they don’t supply mousse, hairspray or shampoo for dry hair or oily hair there are no anti-frizz or detanglers available either it is not prejudiced they are just simply supplying a basic product for those who forgot their hair products at home, nothing racist about it. I wonder if people who work and are waiting on someone to relieve them of their shift who have children at daycare that need to be picked up at a certain time or else they get charged for every 15 min they are late like the idea that time is “ Fluid”. Or maybe your hosting a dinner party and would like to serve dinner hot and have everyone sit down to eat together like the idea of “ Fluid Time”. What about when you have an appointment before work and need to be out at a certain time if “ Time is Fluid”? To inconsiderate people time may be fluid but for the rest of us time is an essential element that helps us all plan our work day and social life with consideration of others “ time”.

Where there is fear, hatred is never far behind and vice versa. You sound as if you're only committed to misunderstanding her, by being needlessly defensive of yourself. Don't troll. Most white Americans don't care about their European ancestry at all and you know it. When their ancestors chose to come here in droves, those ethinicities were traded for the all encompassing "white" identity for fear of being treated the worse, not getting a leg up on the competition; to name a few things. But most of all that particular kind of American procured "white culture", was and is mostly defined by its hatred of non-whiteness. Hatred is not conducive for creativity and artistry, as you can observe is bountiful in black American culture in general, it can almost be described as an inheritance, for the nightmare it has been for too many people of color. And so there is no defining "white culture" which isn't mostly borrowed, or stolen, because of these social negatives. Like a school of fish hoping the next guy get's eaten instead of you.

I recall a friend talking about being on a train in London, and how people sat there stiff and poker-faced and did not acknowledge them when they spoke to them...so my point is, being white doesn't automatically make you austere or wealthy or educated ... behaviour is learned, and only the love of God in Christ Jesus can help you unlearn the ungodly parts of your behaviour whoever you are.

I think it is wrong to generalize all people of one race as alike, knowing or not knowing the same things. I am half Italian and half Irish, so I am categorized as white. Here's an interesting bit: I have had Black people tell me that Italians are not white. This is not true; I do not know where they got that idea. Anyway, I have three children and a grandchild. All are adults. My first born in 1972, had a Chinese father. She married a Black man and they had a son together. My second child born in 1980, has a Black father. She decided not to have children. She works with young children every day. My third child, a son born 1985, had a
Puerto Rican father. He has blue eyes from a recessive gene. I knew nothing of recessive genes until he was born. A recessive gene can occur when a child has a grandparent on EACH side (cannot be two grandparents on one side) so my Irish mother had blue eyes; his dad's father was a blue eyed Puerto Rican. So a blue eyed grandparent on each side; my son inherited a recessive gene for blue eyes. A lot of folks do not know that Puerto Ricans can have blue eyes. Anyway, having Black people in my immediate family, I am pretty familiar with Black people. I also lived with my kids in a 99% Black neighborhood for 16 yrs. During that time the area became integrated with white people who had a bit more money to invest into the area (also known as gentrified) which was two sides of the coin, loss of families and low income people, along with improvements to infastructure, bigger tax base to pay for improvements (schools, play grounds, street lights, new businesses to create jobs, ect.) so I had Black friends, dated Black men (I was a single mother) and I've always liked Black people anyway and always had Black friends, before moving to that neighborhood. And no, none of my children are adopted; I gave birth to all of them at home with Midwives. I added that bit because I had people ask me if they were adopted! If my kids were white, they would have never asked. One more thing: My son has Black 10% Spanish not sure the percentage, Taino (the tribe in Puerto Rico before the Spanish invasion and colonization, which included the import of Black African slaves) Most of his genetics on his father's side is likely Taino. So my point is I'm not a "typical" white person (if there is such a thing) so please do not generalize.

When we get to heaven...should you choose to go by way of the Savior Jesus Christ, there will be no race.....I’m sick of everything, including love and serving Christ being filtered through race. There is only one side...the side of a Jesus Christ. If you don’t like people because of race, or any reason, you need to take it up with the creator of you and all races!!!! We are made in His image and we all need each other and if you have been hurt by anyone regardless of race...this is the devils work, and they hated Christ and His children will be hated too. Talk to Him about it and love with His love and know He adores you. This lady has a huge chip on her shoulder. This is not the 1960s or 1970s. Tell Christ about these problems....no one owes you shampoo. This is sickening. Everyone has been mistreated because there is sin in the world, your choice is to carryon and allow Jesus to pave your way and heal your wounds so you minister to others who have been hurt like you, or to be bitter and tell everyone what is wrong with them.

Miss Kate! Girl! I hope you didn’t fall as you climbed down off your soapbox! You swam all over with THE TRUTH and I thank you for your courage to do so! It’s Biblical Love to confront one another with what is true when we immerse ourselves in foolishness! Have a scoop of ice cream, Girl!

@@bess8395 Oh here we go! Somebody else needs attention & going about it by way of victimhood but with a martyrize twist. How creative. Yes, the natives were kind & gentle & loved nature & each other, never a threat to anyone. Why don't all of you just say what you really want, special treatment & handouts. You already have equal rights & the same opportunities as most of us, whether you admit it or not. In fact, you actually have more benefits, courtesy CDIB card. You're not getting spit on in public or denied service from all the racist white people so just stop.

@@suchabadkitty1293 I'm Black. We all have stories of mistreatment from every direction to include our own. I believe it is important to listen to people who do not agree with you. As I get older, I am AMAZED at how wise my Mom was as I entered different seasons of life. My Great Grandmother was a White Woman who DEARLY loved my Black Great Grandfather, bore him Children in the South and they raised them together. No one goes through this life unscathed.
Forgive folks and don't let bitterness of someone's else's issues ruin your 'good thang', your world.
There is a Lord in Heaven that saw you from far off and CHOSE to enter into time and be sacrificed so that YOU, Dear One, have the opportunity to CHOOSE to spend eternity with Him. This, is what's truly important. I hope you think about this and give folks a break.

Nor are we allowed to have an "all white college" a "white scholarship", "a prohibited word that we find offense when used towards our race by the black race, a "white history month", a "Mayteenth" federal holiday for white people only, etc etc. There are more privileges than we can shake a stick at. But somehow, these are never mentioned in this type of speech. It is always "my feelings are hurt and I need more privileges to make me equal.

@@MultiPuckerup , you don't seem to understand how ubiquitous whiteness is. So ubiquitous that it does not need a holiday or a scholarship or anything of the sort because it has been constructed as the norm in the US. It is like you are saying "white lives matter" when white people are not systemically subjugated because of race.

MLK Day was the first Federal holiday honoring black American over 200 years!!!
