Yes, Hayley, it did make me laugh. Mostly because it was like watching myself jump from one thing to another. I did want to answer your questions...yes, white thread for the tank top hem; put a safety pin to mark the right side for the washing machine. I hope your creases come out and you find the safe hiding place. I enjoy these chatty sewing videos. I love the way your dress turned out.

Thanks so much, I was laughing at myself watching it back! Glad someone relates to the jumping about... anything not to have to rethread the machine ha ha. Safety pin is a great idea, thank you! Oh and I found the hiding place just after I filmed this... I had put them all on my magnetic wrist pin cushion 😂

I love watching you - dithering or otherwise - it's like watching my own sewing room experiences and being able to laugh at them. I wish I had a dedicated sewing room - mine is aka the dining room so I often have to find places to put things away (there's a real shortage of "places"). I suffer from the curse of the sewing room - I go in there and start doing something and the first thing I touch ends up on the floor and I have to find it! Good luck with your naughty box.

Thank you so much, I wasn't sure if it was funny or annoying to watch since I jump about so much 😂 I'm so lucky with this sewing room, though yes sometimes more space means more cryptic "safe places" to put things 🤦🏻‍♀️

You are so different, 😊I agree with @AvrilBrown - I’m going to use her words for myself as my husband calls it something else when I “dither” on to myself 😂. You’re very relaxing and calming. Thanks for letting us drop in to hang out. My hard case for my 1 machine is covered in 2 trash bags labeled and in the garage. I sewed a soft sewing machine cover for my machines.

ah thank you for the kind words! let’s say we dither 😂 I had soft covers for years and lusted after a hard case for my machine, and now I’ve got one I just spend the whole time tripping over it 🙄

You are far kinder to flies, than I am. The white doesn't show at all. I was sewing with some rayon and my pins kept falling out and I got down to the floor with my magnet and picked up about 14 and one needle that I had obviously dropped at some other time. All your dithering happens in my head. I used to have trouble telling my left and right apart, until my dentist fussed so much about it that I kept practicing and had the kids ask me to hold up left or right and at first it was really annoying, but then I took them out for ice cream cones and they forgave their silly mom. Happy sewing!

lol at the fly, it was so loud! Isn’t it scary what you find in the floor with a magnet? I’m so glad I haven’t got carpet in here, when I used to sew in the lounge I stepped on a pin or two 😫 I need to practise left and right, my husband and I regularly used to fall out over driving directions until I started saying, “your way” and “my way” 🤣

Dropping needles is my biggest fear! I’m barefoot always and my dogs sleep where I sew so it’s such a concern I have magnets ready to wave over the floor at all times! I do keep telling my husband I need a sharps bin 😂 I’ve had a shirt I’ve been making for him in the naughty corner (aka on my mannequin) for a couple of weeks now. Love the colours of your nightdresses, I made my own ham too and just stuffed it with random scraps, it works fine for me!

I had a proper sharps bin from when I was pregnant, I should have kept it 😆 Good luck with the shirt… hopefully now it’s rested you’ve forgotten why you were cross with it!

Loving your vlogs - only discovered you recently through the #fridaysews and have been binge watching you whilst I sew and have really enjoyed your style.

Loving all your vlogs and as for hard machine covers they are stored in the loft and will stay there until my machine dies so I'm not sure why I don't bin them from day one save my self a death defying trip into the loft in the first place.

Ha ha, our loft is also full of sewing machine boxes! My husband loves to keep an original box to ship things in case we ever sell them on. But we probably should just bin them like you say as I love ALL my machines! I do use my hard covers between sewing sessions though!

Hello Hayley, all of your thought processes are very comforting - as it’s interesting hearing your chats with yourself……couple of questions- when you overlocked the denim do you just overlock the 1.5 seam allowance and not trim anything off or do you trim something off and then reduce the seam allowance? Also when you made your sewing ham - do you think the steam from the iron evaporates well enough and that it won’t get mouldy in the middle? I’m probably overthinking this!
Keep making your vlogs they’re so entertaining.

I just overlocked without trimming, although it was only a 1cm seam allowance on this pattern. I don't think the ham stays damp at all, I'm with you on the overthinking though and I did worry about it at first too 😂. Thank you so much for your kind comments ❤️
