- Here's the first UA-cam review of the Maratac Peanut BEAST key chain flashlight! [Not to be confused with their non-BEAST version.] Its unusually large head with a deep parabolic mirror lets it pump out an AMAZING "520 Lumens, 1020ft throw, & it's BRIGHTEST IN ITS CLASS" according to the supplier, Countycomm. The short run-times on medium and high might be a big setback for many users but if, like me, your flashlight use is infrequent, but you want the longest throw possible and the brightest keychain light there is, THIS IS IT! Luckily recharging is pretty quick: "30-80min depending on [USB port current] source". Here's some DELETED SCENES: • DELETED SCENES from Ma...
00:00 Size compared to a, um, car. LOL
00:18 Packaging and included accessories
00:50 The different modes (Oddly the sequence varies slightly based on the time delay between switches or some sort of undocumented "memory" ?)
01:28 Who did they design this for?
02:24 Made for MAX throw, little "spill"; MICRO search light!
03:18 Maker's run time/brightness levels listed but unverified by me
04:02 Charger module assembly, sped up to save time
04:12 Li-ion battery, 10180, 1/3rd the size of AAA but 3.7V/ 80 mAh
04:24 Is a 10440 battery version (AAA size) in the works? Just a guess.
05:00"1020 ft. throw, 520 lumens" and heat felt @ 6" away from a KEYCHAIN light?! Wow. - Навчання та стиль
Thanks again that was awesome to see keep up the good work
Informative vedio... waiting since long
You sir! Are CORRECT. Countycom sells an extention tube for this flashlights for $7.95 which allows for a AA or 10400 battery.
what a cool light!
I kept waiting for the space blanket and firestarter to be pulled out of it! lol .-)
I see it as emergency back up for when your primary fails.
Good point! "One is none. Two is one." as they say.
Very cool.
I miss you. Man. You know that haw match we love you and we love your Chanel,,,that was awesome
Il love countycomm and I am happy I bought 2 of them
Try to post the link of this video in community tomorrow as last video or video you upload yesterday
It also got the moon mode 1 lumen wich lastes 12 hour
Turbo mode might work on a heat shrink for wiring?
Well, you can feel the heat but I don't think it's hot enough to do much. I guess what it proves though is you could make some sort of an invisible "IR heat gun" this way if you wanted to . . . . hmm, maybe related to the Havana syndrome?
Cool! Can you recommend a small, maybe a bit more "sensible" flashlight with better battery life?
I am partial to the Rovyvon aurora series of keychain lights. The glow in the dark version particularly.
We all have different needs so it is hard to recommend just one. That said, I think one of the best values in AAA battery keychain lights is the Olight i3E. It is not the "best" at anything but in every category that's important to me it ranks as "very good" to "excellent" yet sells for only $10, uses easy to find and affordable batteries, either rechargeable or standard, and it weighs next to nothing.
Nitecore Tiki le 300 lumens rechargeable? Tiny, rechargeable, and what else is there? Fit in an Altoids survival kit.
I'm very partial to the olight i1r2
👍🏼 🔦
I've gotten several small size [apx. 3"-4" long] 15,000 lumen AA flashlights from ebay for just between $1.30 and $3 ea. Even if they're not fully 15k lm, they are super bright and cheap enough to get a bunch of them and put one in each room, glove box purse, pocket or edc pack and bug out bags and gifts. I've found them to be quite reliable and very handy. If they fail or get lost, it's no big investment.
They're too big for a keychain, IMHO.
🤩🤩🥰🤩😍🤩🥰😍🤩
Umm.. Lumintop Gt Nano ?
GOOD CALL! I had never heard of that one [I haven't followed flashlights for years] but it seems 99% similar in the Amzn videos I've now watched: ua-cam.com/video/RXRfPyZEYeA/v-deo.html Tiny (and inconsequential) structural differences though like where the knurling is on the rear section, and Countycomm claims 520 lumens as compared to Lumintop's 450 in Turbo mode. I also have now confirmed this one seems to work great with 10440 batts. but I assume has triple the run times, as I mentioned at 04:24. The big river sells "10440 Extension Tube for GT Nano Black" (and I assume the threads are the same as for this Maratac one, but who knows) should anyone care.
hey brotha, what is the step-down time in mins. from turbo mode to high and does it have memory function on it ? , who has these on the cheap side , thanks > tom !
It seems this light is VERY similar, but with subtle cosmetic differences (including knurling) to this better known one, so you may research runtime data on it: ua-cam.com/video/RXRfPyZEYeAI/v-deo.htmlt also seems to come with a manual with more data that mine seen partly here: ua-cam.com/video/OVwmy83A6Qc/v-deo.html
@@MeZillch will do, thank you , i have a knife to trade thats in real gem cond and worth 160$ > wesn allman/titanium blade , do you have anything to trade for it ?, let me know , thanks > tom !
Though a big fan of CountyComm, this one seems too fiddly with all the parts involved. Thanks for review.
I think if it came with a docking station so recharging daily was a trivially simple task (you just click it in the dock, which you can connect to without having to extract it from your keys), THEN it would be more practical. I also might have been a little rough on it in my video because I'm forgetting that in many situations the lower power modes are bright enough and provide plenty of runtime.
Lunar low 12 hours, can be usable in tent n' hammock.
Yes, the Lunar Low or Moon Mode is good enough for your immediate area within reach: type, write, eat, read, walk around, work on repairs, tie your shoes, dismantle a bomb, etc.. It of course is also small enough so you can hold it in your mouth to free up both hands.
@@MeZillch Ohh...! So you have try out to dismantle a bomb. Can't wait for the footage! ; )
@@timotoxic4664 Remember last summer when the clock in Big Ben didn't explode? That was me, but MI-6 doesn't like me talking about it in public so I'm afraid I can't give you any further details. . . . LOL.
❤🧡💛💚❤❤❤❤❤❤
Does it fit in an altoids tin?😳
No. *Grumble grumble*. The head is too wide.
Mine rides along on my EDC keychain so tin carry isn't all that important for me. YMMV.
IMO an unreliable, short-lived flashlight [like this one] is worse than none. But that's why this is a helpful review. Thanks MeZilch!
I never said "unreliable". The construction seems pretty good and sturdy actually. Short battery life was my only significant gripe and if one limits themselves to low and lunar mode, which actually covers most situations I encounter day to day, I think it is not all that bad as keychain size lights go.

Can you use chapters please so we can share each chapter
I have now added index points so you can jump to sections named in the notes.
@@MeZillch search about UA-cam chapters there is video in UA-cam creator channel
@@l... It has chapters now, at least as I see it.

that is not a ferrari! i believe its a lotus esprit! the red colour has probably confused you!
Good call! I grabbed the first red car I saw in my junk drawer and also my vision isn't so good. . . . I once asked my doctor what you call my particular kind of visual impairment and he replied with some name I'd never heard of. I think he called it (if I'm spelling this right): "Uniglassis".

Please invest in a video lighting setup. So much of this video was poorly lit (a bit ironic considering the content)
This was just a quick mini review. I posted the video within 48 hrs of receiving this newly released light because I wanted to be the first review on UA-cam. I'm usually a bit more critical with my focus, lighting, white balance, etc.. Also to demonstrate some aspects like the output pattern on my desktop in Lunar Low mode (other modes were way too bright) I intentionally needed to darken my room or it would have been washed out. I get your point though and have a lighting kit now on order.
Nice toilet paper next to the bed.
The non-reflective black craft paper target, non-reflective 18% photography gray card, and non-reflective pure white toilet paper roll were all placed in the shot to then have reference points for later photographic analysis in post: 2:40
Too gimmicky.
