I just bought my 1st LEP yesterday. I have wanted one for couple yrs now. I will get it in mail Saturday can't wait. I bought the Fenix Ht30r. I'm a trucker so I will be using it all the time plus I love throwers!
I bought the Astrolux version of this light and love it. It is a economical way to step into the lep world. I use it to check a tree line about a quarter mile away from my house. I didn't like the lighted switch so I swapped it out for a Convoy S2 plus switch.
This is so awesome Matt! Next step is trying to figure out how to mount this to binoculars so that it’s zeroed in to shine on what I’m looking at. Can’t wait!
Thats one of the best ideas I've ever heard of for using a laser flashlight.

Matt, you should build a rig of some sort to hold multiple lights at once, in order to directly compare all the stats (like you did against the shed with 2 lights) especially beam pattern up against the wall and such thatd be sweet instead of only seeing them back to back, like itd be the final test. All at once

Just bought one. Planning to make it more versatile with a lite diffuser clip on that i custom make for all my thrower lights. It cuts some lumens off but hopefully it can keep it at usable lumen levels. My kr1 w2 is my current edc light due to that diffuser. It in flood mode all the time like if you had triple Lh351 emitters and when i pull the diffuser turns into a thrower again. Clip it back on fast and easy and it's a flooder. Hope that works with the low lumen count of this Lep. Fingers crossed

Can you recommend a short list of what you consider to be the best flashlights that aren’t too big and can also be used as an emergency powerbank like an Olight Marauder but relatively EDC so it’s not huge? Or do you have a video about that already you can link me to? It may be a good video topic for you to do also if you have not already, such as a list of ones you can recommend. Thanks!
So you want him to do all YOUR work researching something that will pretty much help only you. He and most others in the flashlight community know 'most' of the powerbank 2 way type C lights. Its a very general question with perhaps too many answers.

I already looked but didn’t really find a succinct list by people that seem knowledgeable.It’s better to go straight to a doctor if you would like to know about medicine. It’s much better than Googling to learn about medicine. It’s best to learn from someone who is more knowledgeable on a subject. Not everything on the internet is reliable. I feel pretty confident that Matt has a lot of knowledge about flashlights. Think about it. It’s usually better to ask someone who is the foremost authority on a particular subject rather than going to random sources that may or may not be trustworthy. Matt seems like a good person to ask. Many UA-camrs are always looking to make videos that are unique or something new to attract more views. I figured it would be a good one. I’m not sure how long you’ve been on the planet but if you have been around long enough you should eventually get what I’m talking about. Hopefully I have helped you a little bit. You seemed confused about a few things. Unless you were just kidding around but it didn’t seem like you were trying to be funny.

You can check out the Sofirn if22a. It's a thrower flashlight with a Tir lens(meaning the spill fades outwards instead of cutting out right at the edges. It has a powerbank function and is jacket pocketable, but not jeans pocketable.

Besides the UI, it's pretty good for its price!
UI is awful but it’s easy to fix.
Regarding awful UI. It is easy to fix to flashlight always starts from low. I think that the “wrong memory” issue was introduced because the driver was designed whiteout attending to use with the button with highlight.
There are two ways:
1. Replace the tail button to regular button without highlighting.
2. Get rid of highlighting of the existing button. For this fix just unscrew the tailcap and unsolder (crush) both of the resistors.
I want a w4 but they are always sold out.. I like that this one is a circular hot spot, I got the ant man and the hotspot is not a circle

Great video! I did not know the existence of lep flashlights until now thanks to you, which got me curious. There is also a titanium model of ant man with higher output of lumens, but i could not find a review for it. If you have a chance to talk abouf that model that would be great.
Matt I need a good UV light to find horn worms on the tomato. Last one I bought was just purple light. Any chance you can do a review.
It would be helpful if those LEP's came with a set of binoculars so you could see the object you're pointing it at. Otherwise, a regular $25 dollar Convoy C8 is way more practical
100%, if that C8+ had an Osram KW CSLNM1 emitter. I reckon it would just about throw as far as these LEP’s

The winner would be to make these work like a zoomie so they have a useful beam closer in. As they are now they are pretty useless, you couldn't use one when searching for something, the beam is so narrow you need to know where to aim it, you ain't going to find something using it.

Yeah I have the FW3 with the LEDs plus the LEP and I was shocked it has no memory mode I wouldn't recommend it
Just got the light and it can do memory mode. Well... Sort of... It actually turns on in the opposite mode each time. So if you just make sure that before turning it off you switch it to low mode and then turn it off, then the next time you'll turn it on it will turn on in high mode. Cheers
Just get rid of button highlight and the flashlight will always turn on in low.

Are they literally just a white.laser diode with a lens?
Because I played before with putting a lens in front of a green laser pointer pen and it basically made it into a flash light.
No such thing as a white diode laser. White light is a broad spectrum of light, laser diodes only produce one wavelength.
It's a blue/uv laser hitting phosphor which makes the white light. Hence laser excited phosphor (LEP).
Sure these are cool but when it comes to actually use I don’t really see the appeal. By the way I just purchased a few things from your eBay store for a mag light I have. Can’t wait to receive it

Just got into LEP's a month or so ago, picked up a Owleyes W Pro, LA60S, along with 2x Ant Man's, one in Aluminum & one in Titanium Stonewashed. These things are addicting, tho the LA60 is the most practical one I've seen so far.

What brand makes the longest runtime flash lights?
It's not the flashlights it's the batteries that determine the runtime, so use high quality batteries like Sanyo, Samsung, Panasonic, LG, Etc. The larger the mah the more runtime.

Does the tail switch ever turn off when the light is not being used? I just purchased this light and the "glowing" switch seems like it doesn't turn off.

As a flashlight its a chocolate teapot. Poor flood and a stupidly bright hot spot. Little use in the field.
