@@rssurge There is a button to press that will finish the session in a few seconds and simulates the entire session length being run as it wouldve had you sat and waited.
@@CaseTheCorvetteMan That doesn’t work, and the AI doesn’t “learn” the track well enough for the race, and it still places the AI randomly. The best thing to do is ctrl+x to time accelerate through the qualifying until it’s finished.

Quick bit of feedback: Reading this title I clicked on this video thinking it was just gonna be a nice (potentially commented) bit of race replay. Hearing your introduction and realizing this is actually a "how to set up rFactor 2 so you can enjoy it" video is super exciting, because this is exactly what I've been looking for! I feel that lots of people are gonna miss this great content because the video title does not explain adequately what this video has on offer...
rf2 is still the only sim that feels real even with only a t300. I have never driven a racecar but more than enough normal cars - but rf2 kinda makes sense in every way how the car handles. I can't even describe it but in other sims I need a brief period of time to get used to the specific quirks and what is allowed within the physics system (looking at you AC curbs) - rf2 does not have this - it just feels right.
@@samuelprinsen oh dear... hope we're not opening a giant can of worms here :D (Ermin made a video about those two as well) But I share your opinion, although I started my racing 'career' with ACC but jumped into RF2 because of the force feedback. AC is actually pretty close in my opinion but the curb is sometimes just so weird and rfactor 2 for some reason feels a little bit more natural. also the ffb is just better than ac but thats preference i guess

Great video Ermin. Just wanted to add a couple of points though. Firstly, DO NOT ever enable vertical sync. There is no tearing in rFactor 2 and v-sync will kill the framerate. Going back to ACC now and it just does not measure up when it comes to actually driving and the feel of the cars.
The track file megabyte size will pretty well dictate anything above 350 MB you’re going to get a solid looking and feeling track. And if you’re going to run this game balls to the walls you better have a strong video card because yes even if it’s this old it can be demanding on that CPU and GPU

Well done, this is exactly what I needed tough one to figure out agreed but well worth it. Awesome job thanks for shedding some light on the old school UI.
Wtf. Yesterday I was struggling (and unsuccessful) at trying to get virtual mirrors in rfactor2 and I thought about requesting a tutorial on how to set up the game from this channel. Now it's just here, my luck. Haven't watch the bid yet but I hope it covers all set up including the menus etc.
I just purchased rfactor 2 on your advice. To begin with setting up was a pain. The game isn't optimised properly and it also wouldn't detect my t300rs. I was starting to rage, but I managed to fix or find work arounds. Now after my first race all I can say is wow. I didn't know my t300 rs could produce force feedback like that. Now I play assetto corsa competizione, iracing and automobilista 2. But rfactor 2 definitely has the best force feedback. Thank you
So I decided to go back to RF2 after many years away from it due to fustration with it, at first I was pissed at the fact that 397 was charging so much for content but waited until steam summer sale and bought gt3, compared them to Iracing , RaceRoom and ACC and tbh was very very impressed so went back and bought Enduro pack gte cars formula E, well pretty much everything accept rieza stuff and the road BMW. I'm very very impressed, my go to track is my local and tbh the best reproduction of the Adelaide supercar street track and it's amazing. Add the that ASR updates to thier F1 cars and those are a great to drive and to look at. But rf2 is still lacking in quality tracks I feel that match the newest cars
Thank you for this. I bought RF2 a few years ago and was incredibly disappointed by it. Thought the FFB felt wooden and lacked a lot of detail and was sorely let down by the base game’s lack of content. I’ll have to give it a redownload and try it out again.
E_cline #9526 hit me up on discord IL link you some tracks and cars dtm and such next time im on. Rc2 is king for pure driving feel. Hope you get it sorted. Message me on discord if i can help
It such an amazing experience especially in VR. My approx 13hrs in rf2 have mostly been here. Although i’m still 10s from Ermin’s time its just so much fun and immersive with the feedback rf2 gives you!
I can't recommend the Flat6 series enough. They are just unbelievably good. I want to buy (or build) a sequential shifter just to be able to race them mire realistically in VR.
Hey Ermin, are you still planning on doing a tutorial on how to setup your car? I'd be curious to hear your thought process when you're fine tuning your vehicles.
Just took the plunge. And OH MY DAYS. As an AC fanboy for 5 years I have been missing out big time. My CSW V2 feels like I’ve just bought a brand new wheel. As though it had been broken since I bought it
I think the RF2 is the best sim race on the market at the moment with the best AI. Unfortunately because of struggling of beginners the game is underestimated, you need to do some tricks to make game playable. But when you did it - man, it's awesome!
Great video! I never messed with the rubbering in settings but will now. I did feel like this should be part 1. You missed a lot of great car mod content like Ford GT, yeah some of it isn't free but it is cheap. Plus some of the mods in workshops take you to league racing systems to join. Even if you don't drive the car mods you add, they are great eye candy to race against.
Another great vid Ermin. May I ask why you're not using the new BETA UI? I've been using it for about a month and though it isn't faster than the original UI its much more user friendly.
To get the best out of ai you generally only want 7-11 of them on track, you should also use the ai training for each track and car combo you want to run. This makes them faster, consistent and makes the sim more fun for single player. I’d also recommend the DPi cars from RSS on the steam workshop.
Anything ASR does not disappoint. Look at the file size of any track and I’ll tell you right now if it’s over 350 MB odds are it’s a quality track. If it’s under that they skimped out . I am an ex-IRacing fanboy and frankly after 2000 hours on RF 2 I can safely say the physics are way better. And remember RF two was always meant to be under development it was the initial philosophy. If you want to get a high frame rates at Silverstone with 30+ cars maxed out you better have a 3090
Awesome video as all of your videos Ermin! Sorry for using your comment field and remove it if you want. Cuz of this video and all other Rfactor 2 videos you have done im into rfactor2 again. Any t300rs users out there who found the sweet ffb spot?
you might like to know GT3 "pack" cost the same as Assetto Corsa Competizione whole game of GT3. JUST saying if you want to experience another game.... ACC comes with TRACKS. not just cars.
Why post this 2 days after Steam Summer sale is over? I looked into getting the game but got lost in what DLCs to buy, exactly what content was good, exactly how much would I have to pay for exactly what. Now after watching your video I finally have the answer... And it'd cost me twice as much as it did 2 days ago. Think I'll just stick to ACC which I'm perfectly happy with, then...
@Brian Prior might be a case of me not knowing what I'm missing until I try it, but I don't really understand the complaints about ACC's force feedback. Feels quite nice to me. My basis of comparison are the original AC; and some iRacing and the original RFactor back in the day about 6 or 7 years ago. From these sims I've tried, ACC feels as good as any, at least on my Logitech wheel
Thank you so much for that material! I hope for developed online server in near future by studio 397. Because of your materials on yt I have grate fun with RF2. I started it 2 years after added to Steam Library... thanks a lot
Ermin WHY are you not saying to buy the Reiza bundle pack as well??? It is $15.74c AUD at present and includes BOTH the tracks and cars from their packs, which are awesome. The setting up of the races is no where near as hard or as complicated as you make out. You can very easily fix the full course yellow problem by adjusting the safety car threshold in the .json file.
Thanks for pointing out the Reiza bundle, hadn't looked into them and they look nice!! Keep in mind he made this video as sort of an onboarding vid for new players, without going into too much detail. Many thanks for the full course yellow tip though, I think the already onboarded drivers (like me) would benefit a lot from that.
This menu is unbelievable bad. Can’t believe that still isn’t fixed. Try to set up a multiclass race with a even spread field or add a faster mod to the original content. Then you have to go out of the game into the MAS utility and you have to program it for every track. I love this game if you hit the sweet spot but it’s very very hard to get there.
@@asecret5961 Thanks for that. Found Global Endurance Cup 2019-20 in the workshop and that even works with the URD Detroit so it seems. Good stuff. Gonna test that one tonight.
Thank you so much for this setup-guide; it helped me a lot! I'm on VR and really struggeling with night racing because FPS is too low; do you have any solutions for that? Racing in rainy conditions is quite ok, but night conditions is pain in the a** :-))
Can youi share what settings do you have the base set to for the Formula V2? When I try these I have a grinding noise from the DD2 when turning the wheel
My recomendation, Enduramce pack from Enduracers, amazingly complete, GT3 world series, Global Challenge ( using lmp1 lmp2 and GTEs DLC and others created for this pack, GUYS USE F1 91 PACK its amazing !!! also, RF2 its really a real SIM to enjoy, did u hear about Autopolis circuit, again amazing etc etc etc
You can get the new UI by opting in to the public beta of rFactor 2 on Steam. It's not really an improvement though... You showed the rFactor 2 Launcher. Where can we get that from? Starting the game from Steam takes me directly to the menus. Selecting the other launch option in Steam only brings up the video config tool. Otherwise good video!
TL;DW: purchasing rFactor 2 gives you the right to buy more DLC, *AND NOTHING ELSE*. You know what's the best part? The launcher downloading all that default content that doesn't even work properly... counts towards playtime so you can't even get a refund.
Thanks mate , so in your replay at 11:00 was this with AA at x3 ? Ive got so many hours in rF2 but put it aside for nearly a year now and came back recently after reading all the graphical improvements only to find the AA to be shot now :( Is there any good NVCP settings that you know of that help AA now ?
What's the difference between two Spa files at 3:48 ? I have exm_spa, it's conversion from AC as I know. What about AC_Spa_1.3? Name says that it's conversion from AC too
Be careful with the graphic settings. If you don't have a somehow decent gpu and cpu you will have a bad time, especially if you simulate day/night transitions.
Is the free content that you can get with rFactor 2 "good enough"? Like does it come with at least one good car and track normally and if yes which is it?
Would love to see a vr setup as well if possible. I’ve tried find some setups but just not finding anything that helps. I want to enjoy this sim as I keep hearing great things but it’s just not possible atm
What I really want when choosing a new sim is that I'll be able to join servers or communities and compete with many people (like iRacing). I've never raced against a human in AMS1 and I can't find any good sv in AC.
Helpful guide but I don't understand why the UI still has not been updated, it's inexcusable for 2020. The physics always felt the most natural but the game feels so outdated with issues that should be simple to fix. It needs a massive refreshment to keep up in an already saturated sim market.
Being new to rf2, I've been wondering if there's a quick way to set up a race with multiple appropriate car models to make for an interesting/realistic race.
Ueah.. RF2 is great... if you want a distorted view when using tripples!!! and if you like stretched mirrors!!! even using nvidia surround it looks wrong!!! and no tripple monitor angle support either!!!
here is a tip for IRACING, you should learn a lot from RF2, yeah its a great bussiness.. for iracing owners, but only a game trying to be a sim for racers, can not understand why so many people is still spending money on monkey
I can't make FFB feel right, dunno what I'm doing wrong (maybe I should reinstall it, I had it when it came out on steam and it updated itself since then). Also, the dlc's are kind of expensive (I would love some tracks and GTE but the price build up quickly) and the way you have to buy them is also weird... why they are not normal DLC's like in other games? Shame, because I really wanted to like rF2. But maybe I will give it another try.
As a guide it’s about as basic as it could be. Simply telling new users to just run everything on FULL settings...that’s not going to help many people, it it? There’s much more to it than that.
That's it. Also recomended tracks: Road Atlanta 2017 V1.30 (Steam) and Road America ( www.racedepartment.com/downloads/road-america.33750/ )..they are awesome!
Happy new year, I am trying to set this bloody game up and cannot make it to shift down to reverse. I am on a dd1. I am sure you have a tip mate, I run out of patience. Great fab though

Now I play assetto corsa competizione, iracing and automobilista 2. But rfactor 2 definitely has the best force feedback.
Thank you
Great video mate, still new to Sim Racing so videos like this really help me out getting a better experience. Cheers 👍🏻
Got all the DLCs during the summer sales. God damn, worth it all
The Nordschleife in this is the best most detailed Nordschleife I have driven in any game!
It such an amazing experience especially in VR. My approx 13hrs in rf2 have mostly been here. Although i’m still 10s from Ermin’s time its just so much fun and immersive with the feedback rf2 gives you!
Great video mate, I just got my new sim rig with proper DD and Pedels, this video helped me setup Rfactor 2. Good stuff👍
Waited for it, thank you!
wow exactly what i was looking for. thanks a lot buddy, keep up :)
Doing the lords work. Thanks mate!
I can't recommend the Flat6 series enough. They are just unbelievably good. I want to buy (or build) a sequential shifter just to be able to race them mire realistically in VR.
Def must. Ran a few series in our league with it. Got a scarface livery i made for it. 😆
Do you know if these cars are supposed to use paddles or a stick sequential?
Hey Ermin, are you still planning on doing a tutorial on how to setup your car? I'd be curious to hear your thought process when you're fine tuning your vehicles.
Love that your using PIR for many of the car video. Home track and all.
DPi cars are phenomenal, plus Endurance 3.0 and GT3 world series if you want to run IMSA or WEC style endurance races without buying any DLC.
Well this video was awesome.. I had no idea there was even free content. Decided to get it on the summer sale after seeing your videos
Great video and walk through. Thank you!
Thank you so much!!!! EXACTLY what I needed
Thanks for the advice, this is my game of choice and there are a couple of tips here I am keen to try.
Thanks for this - it is really well set out and useful!
Thanks for the video, i'm looking forward to jumping into RFactor 2.
Also download 1998 F1 championship form the workshop. The cars aren’t that great, but it also has all of the tracks from that year
To get the best out of ai you generally only want 7-11 of them on track, you should also use the ai training for each track and car combo you want to run. This makes them faster, consistent and makes the sim more fun for single player. I’d also recommend the DPi cars from RSS on the steam workshop.
AI training? how would I do that?
Great sim, Great chanel,Great content .
Thanks ermz
Anything ASR does not disappoint. Look at the file size of any track and I’ll tell you right now if it’s over 350 MB odds are it’s a quality track. If it’s under that they skimped out . I am an ex-IRacing fanboy and frankly after 2000 hours on RF 2 I can safely say the physics are way better. And remember RF two was always meant to be under development it was the initial philosophy. If you want to get a high frame rates at Silverstone with 30+ cars maxed out you better have a 3090
Great video! Keep posting rFactor 2 related videos, please.
Awesome video as all of your videos Ermin! Sorry for using your comment field and remove it if you want. Cuz of this video and all other Rfactor 2 videos you have done im into rfactor2 again. Any t300rs users out there who found the sweet ffb spot?
Now you just need to get R3E setup properly and realize how great it is too.
Thanks heaps for this, I've been watching your vids and wondering where to start
you might like to know GT3 "pack"
cost the same as Assetto Corsa Competizione whole game of GT3.
JUST saying if you want to experience another game....
ACC comes with TRACKS. not just cars.
Very helpful video for the new players who are just getting into rFactor 2! What is first and second song name?
@@claudioalegria1833 imo it's not ACC that FFB is subpar, but more like rF2 is that good.
Thank you so much for that material! I hope for developed online server in near future by studio 397. Because of your materials on yt I have grate fun with RF2. I started it 2 years after added to Steam Library... thanks a lot
Hey Ermin, great video👍 I’m a newbie, so forgive the stupid question; where can I find the Rfactor2 launcher? Many thanks🙏🏻
@@beginswithaj No problem at all mate :)
I got the maddog? (can't remember name) endurance mod. It allows for multiclass but only for the different endurance classes
Racing in rainy conditions is quite ok, but night conditions is pain in the a** :-))
Drop down the circuit detail a bit because it eats a lot of vram.
2:40 if I understood well, you said the graphics improvement comes with this GT3 pack?
TL;DW: purchasing rFactor 2 gives you the right to buy more DLC, *AND NOTHING ELSE*.
You know what's the best part? The launcher downloading all that default content that doesn't even work properly... counts towards playtime so you can't even get a refund.
Why the hell would you refund this title?
@@SMGMusic14 because there are much better sims out there
Someone should tell all the F1 legends that chose rF 2 recently for their eSports fix.
@@Ermz you tried running your own dedicated server in rFactor2?
@@aperturescience2 Like fucking WHAT?!
Thank you so much😭
Thanks mate , so in your replay at 11:00 was this with AA at x3 ? Ive got so many hours in rF2 but put it aside for nearly a year now and came back recently after reading all the graphical improvements only to find the AA to be shot now :( Is there any good NVCP settings that you know of that help AA now ?
What's the difference between two Spa files at 3:48 ? I have exm_spa, it's conversion from AC as I know. What about AC_Spa_1.3? Name says that it's conversion from AC too
Hello! Why is it not with the new interface? Is there a problem with her? Thanks for the video! Cheers...
For those that have spent significant time in both recently: How does RF2 compare to Version 1.0 (or more recent) of AMS2?
Best Sim Racing Experience for me, *Proceeds to buy AMS2 and ACC*
Be careful with the graphic settings. If you don't have a somehow decent gpu and cpu you will have a bad time, especially if you simulate
day/night transitions.
Is the free content that you can get with rFactor 2 "good enough"? Like does it come with at least one good car and track normally and if yes which is it?
i wish it have more (or any) multiplayer content
Would love to see a vr setup as well if possible. I’ve tried find some setups but just not finding anything that helps. I want to enjoy this sim as I keep hearing great things but it’s just not possible atm
hmm. No thanks. I stick to Assetto Corsa.
Should I wait for Automobilista 2 updates or just get rFactor 2 now at the same price (no dlc)
What I really want when choosing a new sim is that I'll be able to join servers or communities and compete with many people (like iRacing). I've never raced against a human in AMS1 and I can't find any good sv in AC.
Sir. I commend you. I lost a dam friendship because of this game. Anyway, yeah. Rf2 is the best period.
Hi friend do you know how to change the 17.5 whell range (look) setting on ASR f1 cars? Particularly I do not find anything immersive.
What do you think about ASR Formula mods?
RF2 inherently kills Logitech wheels . Can’t wait to try it on a direct drive base
agreed, I have a G29
My logitech G29 works fine on rF2 with a few tweaks.
Will try the reg editing . Cheers
is there a way to subscribe to all of 397's stuff or do I have to click subscribe on all of it? its like 59 items
Was thinking about getting this, but that buy-in is too much. Maybe if I catch it on a really good sale someday.
As a guide it’s about as basic as it could be. Simply telling new users to just run everything on FULL settings...that’s not going to help many people, it it? There’s much more to it than that.
Hi How do i install mods for make enhanced graphics on 4k ? Which mod is the best ? how can i install ? what is the easiest way ?
Great fab though
you have to bind a button that sets it to neutral
I played it for all of an hour - then got my refund - back to ACC AND PC2 -
There's a lot you will miss…and a lot you won't miss!
jimmy broadbent runs around 0.33 FFB multi but ur dd isn't as strong as his maybe try 0.44
If you can make a video about your favorite non-steam mods too, it will be appreciated. There are a bunch of succesful mods on internet except steam workshop.
What PC setup is required to run rf2 on ultra settings?
