You can say what you want about Brutus Beefcake but he made a good living with wrestling was literally around ( and on cam ) some of the greatest spots in modern wrestling history. He did the job and we're still talking about him 25+ yrs after
Beefcake was over HUGE in the 80s. My uncle and his friends all dressed like him when they went to the WrestleMania in the Toronto sky dome. They were born in the late '60s so it's a bit of an older generation but it definitely clicked with the older Gen X crowd. I was born in 1980 and the last of the Gen X and I liked him too. The Barbershop had a ton of memories Not including HBK's turn but also the massive promo done by Piper where he actually puts Brutus over. It's one of Piper's best promos and it never gets spoken about. I recommend everyone check it out if you don't remember it by heart. His come back after the accident was fantastic, and his tag team run with Valentine was memorable. The Dream Team was an underrated tag team and both guys went on to be Hall of Famers. One of the few examples where you have a tag team and one of them doesn't get buried. Sort of like the two man power trip.
hurt more than helped? let's put it this way. you wouldn't know who Ed Leslie was if not for Hogan. He only got to WWF because of Hogan. he would NEVER have been in WWF if not for hogan. and he wasn't going to work for any company without Hulk's backing because he couldn't work good enough
@@mox19380 That's nonsense, Brutus had a great promo and was shredded in the "Fat guy era". He was not a bad worker at all for the time in any sense. The only reason he wasn't pushed harder is to avoid the appearance of favoritism. Brutus was the #4 guy in the Company at a time when the roster was stacked.
@jim1631 you said his career was hurt cause of his friendship with hogan...so where was Leslie before Hogan got him a job with wwf? Wrestling in tiny gulf states territories and as a mid card or lower card guy. So without hogan he never makes it to the big show. His career was inarguably launched because of his friendship with hogan. He got the barber gimmick (that led to his fame) cause of hogan. He got a second life in WCW because of hogan. And if you really have questions still listen to any wrestler, promoter, etc. Of course he carved out his own place but he wouldn't have had a place to carve out if not for hogan
I was in Halifax NS about 6 months ago, I got Brutus hammered he was fighting with his wife on the phone all night, told lots of stories but he said wcw was the worst time in his life
Don't worry you seem like the kind of person that would condone somebody to steal from one another considering you're probably an unemployed worthless low life piece of s*** scumbag loser
In his big wwf run. Beefcake was super over with the fans, maybe top 5, maybe even top 3. Beefcake might be the wrestler who was the most over with fans and the least respected wrestler with his peers.
I'm sure Brutus was a nice guy, but this dude built a whole career riding Hogan's coattails. Dude main evented Starecade '94 on pure nepotism and totally shit the bed. Apparently all his stupid WCW gimmicks were Hogan ideas as well.

People forget that he was over. Brutus was one of the top guys in an era full of stars.
Brutus was a huge star back in the days!
💯
Never had a problem driving with Beefcake
Never had a problem riding with beefcake
Brutus is really underrated, the injury really cut his prime short. I think being friends with HH hurt his career more than helped.

Kevin and Sean, I hope you two gentlemen, and your families have a very merry Christmas

Seen beefcake wrestle back in 05 I believe, at the Lynn Amory in Lynn MA. Tony atlas was there as well
Nice very good graffiti painting canvas 🖌️🎨 in the background

I guess he forgot about the time he had his face crushed then. Or WCW really was worse than that.
No one saying "never had a problem with Beefcake" 🤔
Never had a problem with Beefcake.
Are you doing better now? Have you gotten over it yet? That loss you took in November on the fifth.
“Brother Bruti” 😂
When is Konnan going to pay Sean Oliver's $500 back that he owes him?
It takes a special type of person to whine about $500 for fifteen years.
@MABMGuitar and it takes an even special type of person to whine about somebody whining about it in comments
Don't worry you seem like the kind of person that would condone somebody to steal from one another considering you're probably an unemployed worthless low life piece of s*** scumbag loser
There's something just desperate and pathetic about a guy ripping off a regular guy like that.
Beefcake was over af for a time
💯
Brutus was hogans bff carried all the bags.
Jimmy Hart helped carry those bags too lmao.
Tony is great.
Here's me thinking it was Borash vs HBK, sounded funnier.
Brutus was the man...didn't recognize him when he was n wcw..the hair threw me off...I miss the good old days
The goal is to eat the whole steak
Id eat the steak...

I don't see many wrestlers saying anything bad about him, it's mostly smarks obsessed with backstage politics
Conrad comes to mind lol what did Brutus do to him lol

Not really. His work with Valentine was great, and anyone with a pair of eyes could see he had great potential.

I wonder if Nash knows that he stole a bunch of jewelry from hulk's house about 10 years ago
I wonder if you actually know that or is it something you heard from a drunk retired wrestler on the internet
