- Kyle and Jon lower a 88-98 Silverado for a subscriber with the Mcgaughys 4/6 drop kit with notch. Turns out doing this drop with 15” wheels calls for some modifications to the lower control arms. Yea I think it’s fine. If all the other bolts don’t hold it than that one extra wouldn’t either.

just seen this video, awesome job, I have a 97 gmc step side extended cab I am about to lower, maybe a 3/4 drop. Oh is that an old school datsun in the back ground. I have a 69 datsun that was my dads he taught me how to drive in that truck.

I’d recommend getting shock extensions for those rear shocks I tore some brand new bell techs a couple years back anyway nice truck
The shocks are made for this drop. I put some miles on it and it rode great, the shocks still had plenty of travel. Plus it does have the bump stop in to keep it from bottoming out on the frame and the shock.

I’m curious about the 275/60 long term bumps steering did it ever rub with 275/60 and was the tires ever changed to smaller set on front?

Did you have any issues with the track width on the front? I'm looking at ordering the same kit but it says it widens the track width? Is it enough to matter?
No issues. Only thing we ran into was the control arms hitting with the smaller size wheels. A little bit of clearance done to the lower arms and good to go.
How did you end up finishing the exhaust? I have the same dual setup currently and it’s in the way. Thx!
We cut it off in front of the axle and let the owner take care of it after he picked it up. That’s what we agreed on before we started on it.

275/60 fronts ? They must run at some points on the fenders ? Did you do a 275/60 in front with the 4” drop or 255/60
As far as I can remember they were 275/60 all the way around but I can’t be sure. We done it for one of our viewers a while back. Haven’t seen truck since.

Guys run 275/60 on backs like
The 454ss had . Some run 255//60 on all 4 and some even run 225/70s in front on a 5” front drop
The wheels looked huge for a 4” drop that’s why I asked if the cleared any rub on the front

Current tires on are stock 235/75s they are fine but too narrow for my liking
That standard cab Truck looks good 👍
@Chevro91 I had to modify the lower arms slightly but after that no rubbing that I know of.
@@Outlandish_Family yea I have had mine lowered once it’s all set up the trim on the lcas bee done I’m just basing the tire size findings that work for a larger tire like the 275/60 or 255/60

We honestly don’t have the time or the space to do it for ya. Our projects are pretty much taking up the shop, but Brandon over at Lower Class Fab could probably get you hooked up

I think it had a 275/60/r15 but I’m not 100% on that.
