Its almost like the wanted to document the cool stuff they could do. Maybe they could call it like a behind the scenes? Get it? Cause it would be behind the scenes of a movie? Nah thats dumb.
If you look carefully, there's two BTS camera operators, you can see one being filmed by the other. Just to make sure they got it. Both had to do the crazy backwards jump and not get in the way of the scene.
That’s why I love movies and TV so much! It’s literally magic. You can make something out of nothing and it takes so many talented people and innovation.
This sort of things is what sparked my interest in filmmaking, it's so complex, everything has to be perfectly laid out before and it they did a good job, the results are spectacular. More episodes, please
I have one of the shoulder/gun stock mounts. If you ever want to barrow it to check it out. It has a trigger button that can connect to your camera if you have the right cable. It also allows you to change out tripod heads for you desired use. I thought it would help me steady myself and as a better support for my physical limitations. I use a monopod and strap instead. Whenever I do get out the shoot.
When I saw the title I immediately knew that the last video got a crazy amount of views. But this video just perfectly sums up the magic and joy of filmmaking. I guess you have to be some sort of magician to do this afterall😉🃏
That cushion though! I've seen several shots like that and they always blow my mind. The one I always remember is the one in the city where the camera guy is strapped to a taxi in SKATES! SKATES! So good ugh. Love filmmaking.
4:50 did they really have a guy filming the cameraman who was filming while skydiving backwards, while skydiving backwards? Thats a lot of effort to simply show how a film was shot.
There is a guy filming the cameraman who was filming the cameraman who was filming while skydiving backwards; you can see that on the extras of the bluray version
They did this jump over 100 times, and it's Halo (high altitude, low opening) jump too. And it's really Tom Cruise. I can see why they sent an extra filmer for behind the scenes, nobody would believe that it's real otherwise 😂 amazing shot.
The reason I wouldn’t have thought they weren’t on a real train is because in The Darjeeling Limited they actually used a real train for the whole movie and created moving wall sets within it... Wes is my hero!!
I love The Grand Budapest Hotel along with a lot of other Wes Andersen movies because every shot is framed in an intriguing way that conveys an emotion
_However..._ the other 1,000,000 people _don't do_ the comment section 🤣 Please Peter, keep this series going. Thank you, to you & your team for all their efforts fun & interesting as always 🤗🌼
I'm lovin the train because it was so damn simple in reality, but looked so solid on film. That first one reminded me of KnightRider though...dude that drove KnightRider when no one was in the car, was dressed as the seat and he looked through the headrest
At 8:19 it looks like a Tair Snaiper lens (not sniper) with its own rig, it's Russian, from the cold war era, it comes with a Zenit camera but you can adapt it to any modern camera, I have it in a Sony A7ii
I love this new series.. I am an Indie Filmmaker and just started my new UA-cam channel... You are definitely one of my favorite channels.. Keep up the great work!
If you watch Mission Impossible behind the scenes it makes the movie much more impressive. They shoot almost everything without CGI, just good old stunts and practical effects.
I love these!! One thing I noticed about the first scene where they go through the car window is that it looks like two takes. In the behind the scenes portion, the passenger door is missing.
I think you’ve found a great new segment! “Filmmaker reacts.” I love this stuff, and with Pete’s commentary on top getting blown away makes it more impressive.
I’ve always thought that action movies deserve more credit, because they are hard af to choreograph, but they rarely win any of the big awards, like the Oscars.
Just saw this videos and its nice for us to know, but the first video is from my country, Indonesia, its 'The Raid 2 : Berandal' film. Its really great to see you appreciate our films, Pete. Keep up the great works out there!

You rock. and to this redhead: D Redheads are amazing, I know because I'm a redhead myself;)
The first shot is the different of over-engineering and under-delivering. Extremely complex to make, yet it just looked like another shaky cam shot... IMHO The train shot is brilliant. That's pure indie magic right here.
The camera technique used on W - Two Worlds (Kdrama) on the scene when main male character is almost hit by a rig is awesome too! Can't remember which episode tho
I like it how ou are clearly succesful... having 3.4 mil subs is kind of a lot. But you still appreciate this videos and enjoy them like all of us. Also you are a filmmaker and you are amazed by the ingenuity of these other filmmakers. I found your content just today, i think i am going to watch some more :D
Awesome video as always! Had a great laugh on the last gun thing. Here in Bulgaria you can find them for around 50-60 bucks. The Russians pioneered this construction in the mid 40s. The “Zenit photosniper” was made for military forces in the soviet era. It’s one of the reasons I admire soviet cameras :D
First one was better... Those movies surprised me beyond words. The fighting scenes are the sickest I've ever seen in my life. When someone says action packed, I think of The Raid.
They practiced the shots in mission impossible at an indoor skydiving facility for weeks, in order to perfect the tracking! I love that shot. CGI will never replace the sheer 'realness' our brain feels when we watch practical stunts and FX like this
PART 2! That cushion though....
👊👊👊😎
Yo Peter so glad you're doing this again! DANG the first version you did went VIRAL
Peter McKinnon keep me coming baby
I had no idea that the Old Spice joints weren’t done with hella special effects. The setup is freakin elaborate!!!! 😂😂😂
Absolutely love the content you produce for your audience! Thank you Pete
THese cameramen are the real MVP's. SO much more credit should be sent their way.
AND awards. Camera folks, stunt workers plus, plus, plus...
_ALL_ deserve credit & awards for hard works done. It's amazing!!
That skydiving one; they must have had someone with a camera jumping out to film the person with a camera on their head filing the other person.
Its almost like the wanted to document the cool stuff they could do. Maybe they could call it like a behind the scenes? Get it? Cause it would be behind the scenes of a movie? Nah thats dumb.

literally inception
That was from Mission Impossible: Fallout.
Tom Cruise performs a real high altitude jump.
If u look closely the scene was from the movie mission impossible fallout.
Your reaction to legit Hollywood filmmaking is my reaction to your montages!

I need to see behind the scene of this video.

Nah, seems more like a *Canon*

It’s so interesting to see the work that goes into these shots. Amazing stuff👌🏻

Sorry Finn, it is... I worked in Hollywood with my dog on set for 7 years. Everything is fake, but fun to see the magic in the end!
