Anamorphic lenses allow you to shoot wide, cinematic-looking footage without needing to add black bars to your footage, allowing you to keep the full resolution and not needing to compromise your footage in any way. In the past, these lenses have been very expensive but Sirui has created a range of different lenses at really affordable options, giving more and more filmmakers access to anamorphic lenses. It is mostly geared for video but no reason why you couldn't take photos too :)
Anamorphic lenses used to be really expensive back in the days so this is really cheap honestly.
Personally I really dislike the distortion and flaring but everytool tool as it's usecase. Great review nonetheless :)

It's the filmmakers right of passage to add crappy black bars to everything to make it look more "cinematic" and then realise shortly after how bad it looks haha.
