You hit the ceiling. You talk to much and don't have the "IT" factor. Keep putting your best foot forward and keep playing chess knowing the game is over.

As a local B-More reggae rock artist i always looked up to you guys and watching your journey and how you stay true to the music and your message is beyond inspiring. Never giving up, always fighting for your beliefs within the industry and teaching the younger generation about how to really follow you dreams and to encourage sharing a voice. I honestly think Shellshock is one of your best creations after all this time!
The Chicago show was my first Ballyhoo concert ever and my first live show since before covid. You guys absolutely killed it! I'll be at the next chicago show, for sure. Peace and Love!
Great video dude! I genuinely don’t understand why you guys aren’t bigger tbh. I love your music and your hooks are top notch. Songs like Dark Sunglasses, Blaze This Weed, Maryland Summer are so damn catchy. Everyone you come to Indy it’s such a good time and it always seems like a decent turn out (not 100% sure what the cap for the HiFi is). Always gonna be there supporting and buying merch💜🤘 Four Days should’ve popped off with the Pop Punk crowd lbr 😤😤
Ballyhoo was one of the first bands that really appealed to me when I discovered this genre of music. The diversity of the sound is really special. These are real emotions being spoken about. These are real doubts. These are real questions. I remember during the pandemic, when you guys were still playing live but without a full crowd, I made sure to buy-into that experience to show my support for all that you guys do. As long as your making music, I'm going to show my unwavering support with my hard-earned money.
Live through this was like, an anthem for a hard minute. As was middle finger… fuck it, all your songs are bangers!! Mid life crisis? Are we still thinking country? 😅 I love seeing the honesty in these. You’re human, and we’re here for it!! Go rest. ❤️

While luck and patience certainly play a role, there will never be a perfect answer for every situation. What matters most is how you approach and navigate them. Don’t measure your success by numbers & analytics alone; the impact you’ve made goes far beyond that. Your music has touched so many, and one day, your children will look back at these moments-these videos-and understand that you always had their best interests at heart. You’re showing them that pursuing what you love has real meaning, and that’s a legacy that will last a lifetime. Keep doing what you're doing. You're making a difference.
My crew and I had the pleasure of meeting you at House of Independence before COVID, when you were with KashedOut. I’ll never forget when you asked my daughter who her favorite band was, and she proudly said, “You guys.” You even asked her which shirt was her favorite, and she chose the one you designed. Those small, thoughtful moments create ripples that last a lifetime-she still remembers that show, five years later, as one of her first concerts. You’ve also given me the incredible opportunity to shoot your band, which has allowed me to grow as a photographer and share my concert images with the world. I truly appreciate all the support and the memories you’ve helped create. Thank you for everything!
first time on the vlog, longtime massive fan. loved the introspection here and completely agree with your sentiments - your band deserves to huge. iration, stick figure, etc. in my book you are and I don't get it either man, but keep doing it. vlog was great - struggles are tough to talk about but struggles are relatable and transcend particulars/occupations - keep it up man - keep writing collaborating and charging.
Sup howi. That pop punk song you put out there earlier this year, four days, was great imo. Would you ever consider a straight up pop punk album? Your voice in particular really suits the genre
@@HowiSpangler "top bands" who decides and why. I've seen a lot of shows in 300 cap rooms that will make you question why the fellas from Maryland aren't. Much Love Dude.
Howie!! This was Rad man, maybe more of this more? maybe some in depth set up stuff ? I don’t know man gig prep ? thank you bro for all you do truly massive inspiration so again thank you
Do a double record. One with more reggae elements and the other with punk elements. It's a way to stay true to your identity, but also a way to see where the wind takes you. Also, you have the gear and ability to crush UA-cam. Keep hammering that as well and it'll snowball. I'll always retain that you guys are heavily underrated.
Dude yes! This is what I’m talking about. When we launched it that day, it had like 3,000 streams in the first week. We usually do 20-30k. Blew my mind. Well I’m glad you’ve heard it now. Ha ha
Hey Howi, after watching this video i spent the morning listening to most of your work..... I certainly see the skills and hard work all over your career. Its quite impressive. I think you might be running into a demographic problem in your fan base and theres a few other things that i would clean up if i was attempting a true pop single. I bet its a ton of pressure when youre both responsible for the success of your family and of your band mates. Happy to chat more if you ever want to.
All these years I've been listening to your band, I've asked the same question: why aren't these guys bigger? I think one problem is genre. Most radio stations that do play rock still don't play much reggae rock/beach rock other than a few bands. And even with all the satellite radio channels, there isn't really one that focuses on this genre. I remember hearing you on Sirius once, maybe the song "Run" or "She Wants to Destroy Me." I thought you were finally breaking through, but that channel changed and now there's no replacement for bands like yours. I don't know what the answer is, but I'm glad you guys continue to kill it.
I wouldn't say that your style is wrong. For whatever reason I just feel like not enough people discovered you yet. You definitely put out really good songs. You don't even put out filler songs all your songs are good. I'd just keep pumping out the songs that you like and it will fall in place. It sounds like you might be over thinking it.
I dont think youve hit the ceiling, I think its just hard to discover music. I dont know how to get to more people to find you. I had "known" about ballyhoo for awhile because of "Blaze that weed", but then it took years for me to really find Ballyhoo!. Sugarshack definitely helped for me. Then learning how to find shows consistently, but Ive figured it out, so I hope to help get your kids to college !
Shitty Managment is hard to recover from for any artist. a lot of Maryland bands could be way more successful with proper Management you're not Alone Dude. ❤
I think its due to not having a smash hit or multiple..not that your songs are not capable of being smash hits. You have plenty of them that are. I just don’t think any of them have caught on to the masses, for some reason. I’ve often wondered how you’re not huge …
