I really like how you give a few picks for each park instead of sticking to a specific number like 1 or 3, it really keeps all the picks very reasonable and realistic. Great video overall, and considering how good the parks' maintenance teams are is something I haven't seen anyone else do when predicting closures. Nice job!
@@plighting_engineerd Thanks so much! I appreciate the comment.
Great video! I think a lot of Kings Island visitors probably completely forget about the Bat because it's so tucked away and you can't even see the coaster from anywhere. Except on top of the Eiffel Tower 🗼. I really enjoyed watching this! I'm looking forward to the next video!
7:47 I just noticed how much Iron Menace sways when it's running, just look at the top left of the screen
That’s actually quite good that it flexes like that
@@MalrusOSC I know flexing on a _wooden coaster_ is generally good, but this seems more like a back-and-forth swaying motion, and given Iron Menace's mixed reviews on how it runs, I was wondering if this could have anything to do with it
I could see Demon at CGA be used for spare parts to keep the Demon at Six Flags Great America alive for a little bit longer.
@@ThemePark_Nerdo Fair point!
SFGAm’s Demon is living on borrowed time. A few years ago they were lucky to get a replacement for the lift hill motor (which was the last remaining mechanical part from their other Arrow looper Shockwave) from Vekoma. The next major malfunction is probably going to be its last.
@@mdf3530S&S actually has Arrow reproduction parts ever since they bought their assets after bankruptcy which a lot of people don’t realize.
Carowinds is taking out Carolina Cyclone soon. A ride op has claimed that the ride will close on January 4th and markers have been spotted around both it and Hurler. Found this on a threads post and a Reddit post to support it.
Maybe it’s true, maybe it’s not true. I really don’t know. But I’ll be taking my final rides in the coming weeks.
I’m a Six Flags Plus member and went to Great America several tmes. You are correct. Their mainenance team is top notch. I don’t think they’d remove V2 only because it doesn’t take up that much space. No way are they taking out Viper. That ride was running great this year. In addition to the two coasters you mentioned, I’d like to point out a couple of other plots. Roaring Rapids (their Intamin rapids ride) and Aquaman Splashdown and Logger’s Run (intertwined Arrow flume rides). Both are fairly large chunks of real estate. Roaring Rapids wasn’t open at all this year and they only run either Aquaman or Logger’s Run. Of the two, I prefer Logger’s because of the double down on the drop, but both are low capacity rides.
Ironic that you mentioned the Flight of Fear twins and Joker's Jinx but neglected to mention Poltergeist. However, Poltergiest recently got refurbished and is more popular than all of those three so Poltergeist isn't in any real danger, unlike the other three.
I'm already disappointed in Six Flags for closing Kingda Ka without announcement, but if they close Xcelerator, I will never give my money to Six Flags.
I’m actually glad that I went to Knott’s berry farm and saw Xcelorator running
@@Hawaiian_airlines It’s been running very reliability as of late!
My home park is SFOT and while I agree about the Shockwaves removal (due to lack of love in maintenance and paint) I do see it’s departure only if another coaster replaces it. With La Vibora leaving and a dive coaster in its place it may be a while before they pull the trigger on the Shockwave. As for Judge Roy Scream there are two markers on the ride (one an ACE marker and the other a historical marker for why I don’t know) that may make it herder to remove.
I’ll actually be pissed if SFOT removed Shockwave, at that park in specific lots of kids ride it as their first big coaster and their first one that goes upside down, and it also gives amazing airtime so if it’s closed I’ll be very upset.
For Great Adventure I could see insult to injury with El Toro and possibly Runaway Mine Train and an extreme offchance Medusa and Superman also take the axe (practically all rides on that side of the park are in some sort of jeopardy currently, especially if the next few years are not good for that park)
@@dracherongames9528 El Toro will not be going anywhere after the removal of Kingda Ka 😅
I could see SFMM going with S&S to refurb Viper just like how S&S refurbished Lochness Monster
I went to Carowinds for the first time this year… and honestly I don’t understand the hate for vortex. It’s now becoming a rare model and it’s not bad. Nighthawk also a very rare model provides a really intense interesting experience. Operations for it are terrible due to the loading/unloading and when I went… a one train operation.
I believe the coasters at Darien Lake are safe for now, Viper is well maintained and has very little downtime. Instead, I can see a mass exodus of the flat rides there, most of them are over 40 years old and are getting harder to maintain.
Canada Wonderland is my home park and Time Warp is insanely popular. I have 63 visits this year and never got on Time Warp in under 45 mins. It's always lined up. I don't know why it has so much hate online. Flight deck does hurt but it's not a painful hurt like Minebuster.
I saw many survey markings around Time Warp and Flight Decks queues. Something big is coming to Canada's Wonderland right after AlpenFury.
Another banger as usual 🔥
@@gravitythrills5414 Thank you!
I’m kind of shocked you didn’t mention iron dragon at cedar point. I only say this because it’s an old arrow coaster and in a prominent spot across from raptor. I know it’s hidden in the woods but they could easily it something big in that spot right in the front of the park and it would be a draw.
Followed Dashcast on YT and Spotify! Keep the amazing content coming!
when the time comes for Great Escape to remove Steamin Demon, there is a decent amount of room to there o expand the plot. i could see a Vekoma Wildcat similar to fonix placed there. if they go with the Raptor a mirrored Jersey Devil could work. going back to Vekoma they could even pull off a decent Suspended Thrill Coaster.
This video is fire 🔥
@@Миша-в1ы2ю Thanks! :)
I can see Ninja
going out in St.Louis but to correct you Six Flags made some type of investment in the last three years with Catwomans Whip in 2022, Rookie Racer in 2023 and The Joker in 2024 but it needs a standout coaster and from what I hear the Cedar group don't invest in their smaller parks.
10:15 isn't aftershock at silverwood still an invert boomerang?
@@Leviathan1_Gaming Yes, but it’s part of the *Giant* Inverted Boomerang model. Invertigo is the last traditional Inverted Boomerang.
@@CoasterDash ahh ok
23:56 I know coasters are supposed to flex, but DAMN!
Yeah, looks scary but is great for the strength of the coaster
Speaking of boomerang coasters, I heard rumours that Canada’s Wonderland the Bat coaster will also be closing! They are closing some of me favorite coasters there like the bat and Dragon Fyre! I wish they could keep Dragon Fyre up and take down Flight Deck! It’s the most roughest ride I’ve ever been on! This past summer I went on that coaster and got off with a bloody ear! I definitely want Flight Deck to go! I love The Bat and Dragon Fyre!😢❤❤
It's looking like Carowinds is actually removing Carolina Cyclone first of the 4 you mentioned, there's recently been markers popping up around it and it's running during Winterfest for the first time ever this year. It's a solid chance they send it off after Winterfest.
It wouldn't surprise me at all though if Nighthawk and Vortex end up going at the same time since they're right next to each other. It'd open up an amazing plot for something like a B&M Dive or Vekoma tilt.
@@namevone Ah, good to know! Thanks for the information 🙏🏻
20:55 Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t Gotham City Gauntlet supposed to be a clone of TDKC at Great America but they couldn’t get the permits for the building?
That’s correct!
Where at Cedar Point Snake River Falls is replaced with a GCI woodie and then in a couple of years closed. Cedar Creek mine ride and add a Mack spinner two new rides to the frontier town lore i will be back when I'm right coaster dash. This has been my theory for 2 years
pray for us cga girlies, we need a miracle 😭
Viper has had a sizable wait this last two trips I’ve had.
Which Viper?
I see St Louis’ Boomerang going before Mr Freeze unless the company decides the cost to refurbish it is worth more than Mr Freeze
Boss isn't going anywhere it will get pre cut track like Grizzly and Beast. No way they will scrap it
Judge roy scream is probably next in sfot shockwave still has a few years left but Judge roy scream has the shortest line i have ever seen. I think Judge roy scream will go for probably a expansion and overhaul of the area
@@JT_Toons I’ve heard there’s an agreement with the city of Fort Worth that Six Flags Over Texas cannot tear down Judge Roy Scream, but i’m unsure of the validity of this claim.
@CoasterDash also six flags corporate will fully takeover in 2028. Also dfw is getting competition soon with universal in frisco which will start as a kids resort but then eventually open as a big park
@@CoasterDashit’s because since it’s outside park boundaries if it’s taken down they can’t replace it, they can keep retracking but if they remove it fully it’s just an empty plot.
What do you think the fate of Dominator will be? It's about the same size as Green Lantern, and has also been relocated. It has also gotten noticeably rougher the last time I rode it.
@@Shronkey2003 I don’t think it’s in danger. With it being located at the front of the park, it’s iconic enough to warrant high ridership.
I've seen reports that Superman the Escape has reopened in the last few weeks.
Six Flags Magic Mountain is a home park for me. Superman hasn’t ran since mid-summer, unfortunately.
I can see Diamondback going, especially with the rumours about Elitch Gardens. Scrap both of theirs to keep Revolution at Blackpool going, there’s very little that could fit in that plot if it were to be scrapped and (as you now know) they like a janky old Arrow.
@@katashworth41 Blackpool’s shuttle loop will far outlive the other two if I had to take a guess!
@@CoasterDash I fear Steeplechase will outlive the heat death of the universe. The only worse coasters in the country are Infusion and Hero at Flamingo Land.
SFOG’s park president confirmed that Kid Flash is done for good. Indicating how much of a flop that coaster was and also a huge mistake and waste of money SF did after not learning their lesson from Harley Quinn. It’s definitely going to be remembered as one of the most problematic coasters in history.
You think KD in doswell Virginia is a Mid size park? And you think flight of fear should go, no big lost? Lol interesting welp I do agree with you that Anaconda should have been left. And I wish volcano was still there.
Kings Dominion just this year improved the alien theming so I wouldn't count on flight of fear going
@@wesleysmith4864 Did they? I haven’t heard about this from any sources 🤷🏻♂️
Mr freeze at SFOT is safe for a couple of years because it did just get a repaint 2 years ago
@@IcyEvolution-m9y Agreed, plus the introduction of the forwards facing train.
They should RMC judge Roy to make it a family coaster
I’ve noticed a couple people saying X2 could be on its way out and that would really hurt me almost as much as Ka. I don’t see it happening while viper and Superman are in the same park but it expensive for maintenance I’m sure.
@@calvinpetty343 X2 is such an important ride for Magic Mountain. I doubt it’s going anywhere for a long time!
@ I hope not 🙏
I swear if they remove x2, I'll be convinced they're trying to hurt us
I hope they remove viper at sfmm because I don't like it, and I could see them replacing it with something really good.
I don’t believe Six Flags America will close especially after they invested some money into retheming the old west and changing it to a Stempunk theme. The closest park to Washington D.C. and it has gotten better over time as well. Put some more investment into it and you have a premier park in the northeast alongside Great Adventure while Kings Dominion can concentrate onto Busch Gardens.
@@Lee-dl6mu I want to believe you! I think Six Flags America has so much potential.
Could eventually close, but I don’t think they will try to get rid of them that easily
4:30 carowinds is my home park, and I LOVE nighthawk and HATE vortex!
@@X_Canine Haha, lots of polarizing coasters there!
@@CoasterDash literally real bruh

@@PumpkinBear Yes! Here’s a link open.spotify.com/show/0tXbV5pgcJHoWCeoIPgqu0?si=YOp40AhmRX-6n6fiAH-Qog
We get it you hate Arrow coasters.
@@cab0218 Actually, I *love* Arrow coasters 😅
@CoasterDash I wouldn't have guessed that with how many Arrow's that you said might be removed lol.
@ Just trying to be realistic 🤷🏻♂️
or who will they close valley fair
St Louis is most likely to close Mr Freeze
@@stephenboshears4832 You think? 😬
NOOOO I HOPE NOT 😭😭😭
@@CoasterDash From what I understand Mr Freeze is a maintenance nightmare and uses way more power than it should. It’s also a high valley risk with no way to self rescue.
@@stephenboshears4832I’d say ninja or boomerang are next, while yes mr freeze uses to much power, I say that boomerang or ninja are next, considering how hated ninja is, it might be next to go.
Flash at Great America could go and I wouldn't be upset
Nah it’s a GOATED ride, you wrong
@SollyJohnson1 eh, I think Bull, Eagle, and Demon are more fun kid
@ true
It's Six Flags dude it's not like we're talking about you know Universal studios or Disney. Who cares if Six Flags closes a ride?
Because some rides that are closed are loved by people why else do some people get upset about ride closures.
@MasonThatWeirdGuy because they have no life?
Coaster enthusiasts care. Sure, six flags isn’t Universal or Disney but they have some fantastic roller coasters.
If you don’t get it, that’s fine, but let people enjoy what they enjoy. I’m not going to find something you care about and insult you over it. Cheers.
@tylerstooksbury3050 coaster enthusiasts? Or Thoosies?
@@FAFO4wisdom-s9o 🙄 Just let people enjoy what they enjoy.
You get what you give.
