A Castle of Paper, Turned to Stone

- Vajdahunyad Castle isn’t just a castle. It’s an architectural homage to 21 different buildings, among them a church and a castle with ties to the Dracula myth. The castle was designed to celebrate the Hungarian State’s 1,000th birthday, built using wood planks and flimsy cardboard. As public adoration for the structure grew, it was eventually rebuilt with sturdier materials. Come fall in love with a Hungarian wonder.

This is located in a park next to Heroes' Square at the far end of Andrassy ut (a lovely avenue). I did not take an inside tour but walked the grounds which are quite nice. The story of its construction is kind of cool. 👍

🧚♀️🇭🇺Hello there ‼️
Is anyone able to tell me what are the original buildings of Vajdahunyad castle 🏰 complex buildings such as locations and names❓
I would like to know the information, especially the original building’s name and location of the Hungarian Agriculture Museum in Budapest.🇭🇺
That Baroque building is so beautiful ‼️
I know that the Vajdahunyad castle’s buildings are copies of several landmark buildings from different parts of the Kingdom of Hungary.
The original Vajdahunyad castle locates in Hunedoara, Transylvania, Romania. 🇷🇴
If anyone knows any information, your information will be appreciated.
Thank you very much.😇
on Hunyadvár! :) Vajdahunyad Castle was never romanian! It would be good to find out and say that the territory of the Kingdom of Hungary was mutilated in Trianon - complete Transylvania was part of Hungary and the Corvin Castle, i.e. Vajdahunyad Castle, was always Hungarian - the property of one of the Hungarian royal families, which has nothing to do with Dracula, i.e. the historical Vlad Tepes , who was actually imprisoned in the prison of the Hungarian king: in Buda! Vlad Tepes (i.e. Dracula) never had either a castle or a fort in the territory of the Hungarian kingdom - thus, by definition, not even in Transylvania. The architectural heritage of Transylvania is practically Hungarian and even a little bit Saxon. The Romanians have nothing to do with it - regardless of the fact that they temporarily own the territory of Hungary and its architectural heritage!
Makes me think of Hogwarts for some reason! Very lovely video, as usual x
Shh its the hungarian school of wizardry dont tell anyone!

1896? Designed to celebrate? It's not a real castle. It's a "castle"-shaped folly.
yes that is said in the video.
