- Kim was there - saw Motown grow and grow - until it got so big that some of it's best talents decided to move on to pastures/labels new... Kim can still sing her head off - she's an amazing vocalist who, apart from her own solo success, managed to hook Marvin, got him into the studio and totally pushed the musical boundaries out - re-inventing the pop duet that day with what has become (in fact, always been) a guaranteed floor-filler any night of the week. Here Kim sings 'It Takes Two' with the late Edwin Starr - shame Edwin didn't get the lyrics down before he stepped into Marvin's shoes for this one performance with Kim at the very last show of the 'Legends of Motorcity' UK tour. Frankly, the lyrics became unimportant when these two Motown legends got together on-stage. It was an electric moment - I was so lucky to sit front row and soak up the magic of the night. The audience's reaction says it all. Watch and enjoy, Stoned Love, Steve Weaver♥.
This was WONDERFUL!!! Edwin Starr was phenomenal. Miss Weston sings so effortlessly. It like she just opens her mouth and a powerhouse of a voice just comes out!! I was a kid when she was with Motown but her songs still resonate with me. This lady deserves all of the admiration in the world!! Still watching in 2021!!
Absolutely!
Lovely voice! Real Soul power! And what an elegant lady she is too. Kim Weston should have received far more recognition. She should have been Motown's Anchor Superstar.
I like the way she presents herself - no 'jumping around' - just a nice classy, sassy performance. GO Kim!!!
Talent like this doesn't have to! Kim weston. So underrated!
KIM WESTON one of the true "QUEENS OF MOTOWN"
THE Queen of Motown.
Kim Weston was and still is one of the few voices that can hit a note..and carry any song! that was ever written for an motown artist...she was and still is better then alot of the females singers that came thru Motown..and way surpasses Diana Ross! Her voice range is phemomonal!
Kim Weston is the best!!!! That girl can sing !!!! Wow !!!!
This Sister had thee most powerful voice in Motown what a voice 🎤🎙🎼🎵 SOLID!!!!
This lady sings!!
Kim is in fine voice here! Edwin is awesome! True talent on display. Still delivering it well into their 50s. Great!
One of Motowns most under rated song birds-Beautiful Kim..Do you hear-Just beautiful.
Artistry of Kim Weston takes full flight in this phenomenal performance of "The Greatest Love Of All", clearly the legendary lady makes this classic anthem her own in this stunning definitive performance...Bravo Kim!!!
Kim Weston looks & sounds sensational, that glorious voice hits the heights then goes to the depths of "The Greatest Love Of All", phenomenal singer finally getting her day in the sun on youtube, she truly is an "Unsung" legendary icon...Bravo Kim!

She deserve the glory in the whip that she earn it's not about the color of your skin its color of being fair right and what's wrong
Beautiful and talented. She could sing anything with her powerhouse voice. Just a wonderful lady who should have become a huge star. Wish Motown and Mickey treated her as she deserved. She's a Queen.
Thank you for posting this! This lady not only still has the voice, but she looks good. I wonder if the singers of today will look this good at her age.
Kim Weston what a great performance.
What a beautiful voice Kim Weston has....thanks for posting.
Arigth Amen
sorry forgot to thank you for this video, no one moves me the way Kim does, i find her voice so wonderful.
Marvin would've been proud! I can see him looking down on these two now, doing his and Kim's song proud!
Gotta love Kim and Edwin! 👍😎
Kim sounds FANTASTIC
A singer with class❤🎉
I was in the front row too. What a night!!
Brilliant - absolute artistry !
Thank you Steve Weaver for sharing this wonderful performance by Kim Weston with us. I love Kim and she will always be a Motown classic to me. Her voice is impeccable. I love watching her videos from the 1960's and hearing those songs, especially "I'm Still Loving You" with the Andantes.
WOW! I am floored with this performance!!!!..What a voice! KIM>KIM>KIM>!!!!!!
I had the pleasure of seeing and meeting Kim when she did a play here in Philly. I was thrilled to meet the lady that sings "Don't Compare Me To Her!" She was gracious and sweet, as she thought I was too young (at the time) to be familiar with her work.
i was there!! she was fab
AP2TMH POWER ~
Best cover since Whitney I've heard, goooo Ms. Kim❤
I often try to understand why do the fans need to verbally fight about artist. What is our investment in this? Is it our need to justify what we like. An opinion is ONLY an opinion and it begins and ends with the owner.
This is a great clip. It is good to see Kim after all these years.
If people really know who was Kim Weston the old school old news old girls just give him the glory

Kim Weston (born December 20, 1939) is an American soul singer, and Motown alumna. In the 1960s, Weston scored hits with the songs "Love Me All the Way" and "Take Me in Your Arms (Rock Me a Little While)", and with her duet with Marvin Gaye, "It Takes Two".
Thank you for posting this: it's truly wonderful! I've never seen Kim live but was fortunate enough to see Edwin live a few times. Seeing them live together here is awesome!
Thank you so much for this!
Wonderful Kim and Edwin...powerful voices
QUE DIOSAAAAAAAAA UN FUEGO¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ ME ENCANTA¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡
Hi, I am so grateful you put this up. I was the bass player in that band and you have brought back wonderful memories of Kim, Syreeta Wright, The Supremes, Marv Johnson, Carolyn Crawford and the Elgins, and all the classics we played. I sang It Takes Two with Kim all tour but they decided for the video to wheel in Edwin Starr. He screwed up the words. Kim was gutted for me and about Edwin's performance. She summoned me to her dressing room to say how sorry she was. A very great talented lady.
Respect the legends
YOU ARE CORRECT. THE WESTON AND GAYE SESSIONS WERE SOME OF THE BEST RECORDINGS.
ok.. now i know it's the greatest love of all.. thanks google! has she ever released this? it's an amazing version
Still the Best.
Bless edwin starr! Lyrical flubs and all!
Say what you will about Diana, but she IS unique and Berry Gordy knew what he was doing with the Supremes, because together they put Motown on the worldwide musical map. kudos to all the Motown artists as well, all of whom are great.
That certainly includes Miss Kim Weston.
what is the song called with the lyrics about learning to love yourself, it is amazing! someone please tell me!
Fine looking sister with gorgeous brown skin!
She didn’t perform her signature, Take Me In Your Arms?
She did. It’s on another video
ett ben rangel som diana e d väl som är intresserad av?
There's always one in the bunch. Yes, Diana was the most popular but not the best singer,. Cant one just be a fan without being a fanaddict? Perhaps they only have a limited knowledge of female singers.
@ TWTR4EVER: as you know, I'm a huge Diana Ross fan, but lets get this straight; THIS VIDEO IS ALL ABOUT KIM WESTON AND NOT DIANA ROSS! Post what you feel you need to on Diana's videos, but allow Kim's fans to enjoy her videos without all your bashing of another artist! I'm also a massive fan of Ms Weston and I don't want to read your claptrap about another artist on HER videos.
Respect Kim, realise that this is all about her...and GTFO!
Still sounds better then Great
Regarding your assertion that Diane Ross would have been a star with or without the full backing and influence of Berry Gordy and his studio Motown is not only questionable but without merit as her short lived CONTRACT & ASSOCIATION with RCA RECORDS when she left Motown and subsequently after clearly proved!
Diane Ross is mediocre talent that with THE FULL MARKETING , PUBLICITY & DISTRIBUTION of Motown & her LOVER / BENEFACTOR Berry Gordy was pushed down our throats!
What are you talking about Ross Rca tenure was very successful
ingen
Kim Weston is wonderful and you named some of the great voices of Motown. However, your immature nonsense about "Diane" Ross is absolutely ridiculous. DianA Ross is one of the greatest entertainers of the last 60 years!! She would have been a star without Motown or Berry Gordy. History speaks for itself, sorry you can't deal with it.
Kim sounds a lot like Martha Reeves!
Not Martha Reeves, of course!
Martha Reeves is The Queen of Motown Soul!
That's right! Do the gay thing. Attack one diva, praise your favorite!
Try to get a life!
