If y'all want to see my Theodoro to Roman Empire world conquest (mentioned in the video) check it out here: ua-cam.com/video/SG0s2lKImro/v-deo.html. Let me know if y'all have any recommendations for the next category of EU4 "top 10" videos!
My favorite formable nation is the commonwealth. Calvary power, decent expansion routes, and in the early game the ability to cripple Scandinavia or Russia.
GERMANY!!!
Great video, but I think the Mongol Empire is coming out with 1.27 on Monday, so perhaps waiting a couple more days could've be worth it.
Are the Mongol Empire ideas anywhere online? I saw the Ilkhanate's ideas which weren't that impressive, if the Mongol Empire is an end tag I''m sure they will be strong!
Golden Horde, Japan, Commonwealth ❤️

I may or may not have been to the museum. The first rule of the museum: don't talk about the penis museum.
NO ITS SCANDANAVIA ALL THE WAY!!
You forgot one more important aspect of the Mughal buff: if you own the south of india you can release Deccan as a vassal to obtain +10adm efficiency and they are guaranteed to have low liberty desire. You can feed them tons of land with minimal trouble, making your WC even easier.
unless ai vassal gets his absolutism high you will not profit from his admin efficiency, and ai is terrible at getting absolutism especially if they are a vassal, so no, making a vassal and feeding that vassal as mughals is unnecessary, who needs vassals when you have 80% ccr
You gain the 10 admin efficiency yourself by releasing that specific vassal, which is why you do it. Feeding it is just an optional bonus.
@dag natten could you please explain this to me? how do you get 10 admin efficiency by doing this?
mission
you gain 10 admin efficency that way? i will check this today
1:39 That is one sexy burgundy
Ron Burgundy would be proud
Know what graphjic mod he uses? the borders and provinces look so nice
I wish they would give a united Germany unique ideas and/or mechanics instead of the boring generic german ideas. Its actually not that easy to unite Germany because of the high AE in the HRE and the amount of provinces you need (except you are playing Prussia, then everything is easy^^). Same thing with the Holy Roman Empire if you manage to unite it. You should get a unique idea set at least :/
Oh and btw. Persia is great formable nation aswell. They are rather easy to form and have very nice ideas. Sadly they dont get any nice missions or mechanics like the Mughals for example^^
I absolutely agree. They did that with Italian ideas. Nations that start with generic Italian ideas can form Italy and get their really nice Italian idea set for the Italian nation
Yes HRE, it is very hard know, because of the religous wars, I spend full 100 years on just getting rid of the protestant and reformed religions, with 0 EA.
"Same thing with the Holy Roman Empire if you manage to unite it. You should get a unique idea set at least :/"
The united Holy Roman Empire could have some crazy powerful ideas and still wouldn't be great as you lose the OP vassal swarm and you also lose the benefit of the reforms if I remember correctly
Maybe they could let you decide between keeping your old ideas + vassal swarm and reforms or losing the vassals, the reforms and your old ideas for really strong ideas and a unique government type (maybe with some unique casus belli or something like that).
Same! I thought about the Prussian idea set for a united Germany aswell (because historically Prussia united Germany). But I would change them a bit and take away some military ideas in favour for diplomatic or economic ideas. I would keep the discipline and the manpower + either the morale or the infantry combat ability (maybe tune them both down a litte to 10% or 15%) and then give them improved relation/diplomatic reputation and goods produced/production efficiency. Maybe even AE reduction, but all in all it would be a bit too strong I think^^
When I was playing Prussia i conquered China before i conquered France so yeah... they have quiet powerful army
Your Prussia must look alot like Russia to reach China!

True
I think Spain should be on this list, they have really good ideas and probably the most OP mission tree in the game giving claims on almost all of the Americas as well as PU cb on England/UK and Austria
They can become HRE too.
They should add fictional formable nations as well. Like a Celtic Empire, formed by Scotland or one of the Irish nations/Ireland itself after they take over all of Britain.
Like, a concept version of formable nations, I guess.
I'm fairly sure they could do that since they already have "fictional" formable nations like Scandinavia. IIRC "Scandinavia" as a political entity never existed outside of the Kalmar union led by Denmark - so there is in game precedent presumably!
I always God damn ask. Why can I form Roman Empire but I cant form Old Egyptian Empire? Or why we have norse religion in game but there is no way of getting it.
@@maden4039 its a bit ironic have the option to do a costum country with "ancient egipt" culture, but at the same time there inst a formable country called "ancient egypth"
Same with babylonials, espartans, athenians and the others
If you are going tp introduce old culture, the why not introduce formable countrys for that culture? Or mechanics for them at least
@@alanetchetto8908 not ironic. Sad. I want something interesting instead of countries I saw 100 Times in history books.
@@maden4039 i said ironic because... you know, program is usually Hard and demand time. But, yeah, its kind of sad. Like i want a galic empire, visigod kingdom, neo-neobabylonian empire or even the macedonic empire (i really hate do the macedonian empire with tje "custom nation" thing and constantly see "form geece!!" In the misions)
(Sorry for my terrible english btw)
With the Manchu update, Yuan is even more powerful as you no longer have to worry about bordering non-tributaries (and you can also just skip the mandate altogether). More importantly, it’s a hell of a lot easier to form, as Ming will now implode far more often
And now Qing should easily be in the top 10 or even top 5 due to buffed ideas AND the op Mission set that gives cores on 2/3 of China if pulled off correctly. Even with nerfed Banners they are stupidly strong - Yuan only being better because they can Keep their Horde Status.
Feels Pretty weird that old manchu wasnt in the list tho - when even Deccan was in there. Thinking About it - why the fuck was Deccan even in there? It should be Hindustan/Bharat - he explained it in the vid anyway, Deccan shouldnt be more than an honorable Mention (at best)

Scandinavia is useless to form, if you form it you give up on the Swedish events you get in the future.
One thing I love about Prussia is that if you play small you benefit from massive bonuses. If you play large you may have less bonuses, but your massive armies will still be the most jacked up in the world

Scandinavia desperately needs own ideas, missions and another flag.
Some of the modded flags are quite beautiful, while still keeping the nordic feel to it.

I hope PDX revamps Iceland too!
Hahaha, yeah that too...
I’m new to eu4 what’s wrong with red yellow flag?
I bet the paradox CEO is from Skåne it reminds of their flag.
The Kalmar Union was the personal union under Denmark.
It wasn't the "Empire" of Scandinavia per se. But I see your point :)
But Scandinavia _REALLY_ needs some ideas and missions... Otherwise it's actually detrimental to form SCA...
there is actually a quote from back in the day "unlike most nations who have a army the Prussian army has a state" that was in regards to their massive military budget and highly militaristic culture

Uniting nations by any means necessary
Yuan is too high. It requires you to take the crippleing Mandate of Heaven to form.
Mandate can definitely be a double edged sword. I wonder if you can form Yuan and drop the mandate by having someone declare a Take Mandate CB on you. Maybe disband all of your armies and de-tributary your neighbors and wait? Yuan without mandate would be an insane nation!
it would be pretty damn annoying. Only real advantage of mandate of heaven is the unite china cb, for the rest it's a disadvantage.
Many ai nations would just do a regular war which would cripple you before somebody would declare a mandate cb.
Remove Talos
Ming doesn't need a lot to break down. I played as Manchu and got them the Unguarded Nomad Frontier and they melted after a few wars since the penalties to their armies made them paper for my cav.
Remove Talos but Ming is not supposed to be easy.
They were by far the most developed nation in the world at the time of EU4’s start.
Ming had a higher population than the entire Europe (can’t remember exact dates, but around 1450 as well).
We are talking about millions of soldiers.
And you want it to be easy for irrelevant nations to conquer them? Ming had problems with some of the Vietnamese nations, but they were no where near being able to be an actual threat to Ming.
Remove Talos
I’m sorry, I think I missed your main point, it’s early (at least in my part of the world) still sleepy.
yeah Ming should have some seriously bad events, destroying their stability. Natural disasters really screwed Ming over back in time.
I should probably mention now, I don’t play that much Ming myself so I don’t know if they have events like this, but from the looks of how almost every ai Ming survives, the events should be tougher.
U should rename the video "Most formidable formable nations" it'd be nice illiteration
I dig it!
Hey dude! Is it possible for you to do a let's play of a paradox game anytime soon?
Yes! I'm working on finishing a campaign (and possible WC) right now for a timelapse video but after I'll be more free to do that. Thanks for watching!
AlzaboHD i deeply agree with it. I do play EU4, but i don’t really grasp the whole meaning of OPness behind “whooping 5% discipline”... and so on
I heart you vids though
Awesome
After the Manchu update, which nations would you include on this list? I would think Qing and Golden Horde would make it in (not Mongol IMO, as Golden Horde is much better, especially because Mongol moves your capital to an awful place in Asia).
One thing that makes me think that Poland is the most powerful is that if it gets conquered by Horde, it itself can become one! Poland, the country with The Most Powerful Cavalry in the game, can become Horde and have 100% Cavalry Armies...
That is NOT OK.
Its not just ok - it's bardzo dobrze!
Wait what do you mean if it gets conquered by Horde? Can you tell me more about this exploit?
+Edim 108
@@rokass.5430 After the Dharma expansion and the Reform Mechanics once a country (in this case Poland) gets fully annexed by a Horde or a Tribal (Great Horde, Crimea, Circassia, etc.) and gets released as a Subject, it gets the form of government of its overlord, which in that case is Tribal (if conquered by a Tribal Nation) or Horde (if conquered by a Horde). This lets you make any nation in EU4 any form of government you want, as long as the nation in question is conquered by another, with the Government you want. You can have for example a Horde Ming, or an Iqta Papal State (if its lands are Muslim) etc.
With Poland and Horde Government, you can have 100% Cavalry armies, which is... just not OK for anyone else, because Poland has the highest Cavalry Combat Ability in the Game, Cavalry Cost Reduction, Morale, Discipline and Manpower all in its National Ideas, which combined with Horde Bonuses to combat ability on Plains, Farmlands and Steppe and Reforms that grant you even more manpower, core creation cost reduction, and other bonuses from reforms.
Siu-King actually made a series where he conquers Poland as Manchu and then Plays as Horde Poland and does the World Conquest.

5:06 The missionary strength is global, but not the unrest and manpower bonus, that is only in Orthodox provinces.
Came for the top ten, stayed for the crisp voice
Mongol Empire units can just run away from space marines. And has a good reason to do culture convertion (like 400% manpower because of banners in primary culture province). You also keep your Yuan ideas, and just get more good stuff.
Nepal should definitely have been mentioned. The Nepali Ideas are so powerful and are, as far as I know, the only idea set that provide +1 Leader Siege. This, combined with most of the other idea bonuses being military focused, results in an extremely powerful militaristic nation

@ AlzaboHD You're making a mistake of not putting the manchu in this video. The combination of Tengri faith, horde government, banner troops, and the close proximity of the bank of Ming made them insanely powerful. Horde government and Tengri faith allows you to have an all cavalry army, combine this with the bonus hordes get on flat terrain and the manchu banner, you get a superpower horde with the world at their feet that can milk the bank of ming every time you need money.

Absolutely - going to be making a lot of Emperor 1.30 content so stay tuned!
You mentioned that anyone that forms Rome will get the Mare Nostrum achievement. This is incorrect. To get that achievement, you must have already formed Rome, and then owned all provinces around the Mediterranean and Black Sea. This is on top of the provinces in England along with Italy, Greece, France, Iberia, and Anatolia required to form Rome in the first place.

I say Yuan is the best, how fast you can expand is incredible.
Is there any updates guides for Rum?
Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. Enforcing Pierogi culture since 1569.
I totally agree about moughals, cuse not only you get a buff for conquerind the culture group, when you conquer an entire culture (not culture group) it became acceptes, so you can virtually accept every single one culture in the world GG Even so, the indian subcontinent is very reach in trade numbers, so you have really nice incomesgtherin all in Persia node or even constantinopla when conquer ottomans.

Malaya is poweful as well. Conquering South East Asian trade from China using the Malay peninsular can make you rich quick
I think Qing should be on the list, too. God tier national ideas, permanent claim on China and banners are rather OP.
when Italy gives combat ability XD
Russia should be number one, let's face it if you move the capital to Siberia no one will actually walk all that way to get it, and if they do by the time they get there you already have a new army waiting for them.
Well, often by the time you take Siberia and pull out all these nomads out of there, you already have at least a half of Lithuania and Caucasus and actually Moscow is deep inside in your country and secured enough.
Forming Russia I switch the capital to St. Petersburg to get some development there for the fleet and then switch it back to Moscow.

not enough experience in EU4 but in EU3 the 2 most powerful nations by far were Italy and Germany. HRE has its charm too
I heavily disagree with #2. Yuan ideas are great for expanding, but mandate of heaven is pretty much the complete opposite, it makes expanding much more difficult and tedious. I mean I did a Mongol campaign and only formed Yuan at the very end for the achievement and when I did it completely gimped my nation.
I like to start as Milan, become emperor, form Italy, then work on making the HRE my vassals while I make the Roman Empire. The end result is the most powerful entity that the game can make.
Yuan Dynasty founded by Kublai Khan, basically the Mongols. Mughal Empire founded by Babur, who was a descended from Genghis Khan, so sort of the Mongols again
Maybe my game is wack but in my commonwealth game I couldn’t ever choose the ruler I wanted I just had like a son.
I'm the type of nerd who likes staying as a minor nation that *can* form a better nation just because it's like "We didn't come all this way to lose the identity that carried us here to begin with" like if I play a German minor (Like Cleves or something)

The trick is to take only the required provinces, ally france spain and PLC and start a coalition war before it gets to big
I am currently in a florence - otlay campagain and faught 2 coalition before forming italy
On top of what Hussnain has already said I'd also recommend biting only into central and southern Italy at the game start - definitely wait until the shadow kingdom triggers and north italy leaves the HRE before annexing them. Otherwise you get aggressive expansion with all of the princes and emperor of the HRE

I almost always play Japan, for the land of the rising sun, it shall conquer all (though playing as a daimyo, such as Date, who has some great ideas but little land, does make playing ironman really hard, a single mistake, such as an unexpected uprising in one of your rival daimyo's lands on your army whilst at war, can be very costly, if not cause you to lose the game entirely. However, should you manage to push beyond such troubles, and manage to pick some ideas that allow for fast colonizing and quantity and aristocratic military ideas, than you'll be very hard to beat, to the point that ming may consider you a rival if you manage to develop quickly whilst still trying to form Japan. Though that's not to say that other nations aren't better positioned for greatness, the number one nation is downright ridiculous if you manage to convert to Confucian, so many bonuses.
