Funnily enough the footage and your commentary certainly captured differences between that and your 996, the main one being the sense of speed. It looked significantly faster! You’re lucky not to have speed cameras everywhere as we do in the UK 😂
Yea these roads dont have cameras, and police only set up check points at night to catch drunk drivers. As long as I dont drive like this too often to cause the locals to complain, it should be ok.

Driven a 991 Carerra and the speed felt is the difference in how early, late, respectively, the ability to put on the power and brakes. I’ve never driven anything like the vehicle you’ve been so excitingly demonstrating.

Lol yea me too. I only had the car for a short time. Decent driving roads are at least 2-3 hours away from where I live.
Great cars. I owned a 996 GT3 for many years with a few modifications including a Manthey K400 and suspension upgrades. Loved it for its rawness and steering feel. I think some things have been lost with the 991 & 992 Generation GT3's even though they're objectively much better cars but I would still happily take a 992GT3 over a Ferrari or McLaren as they have stuck with a high revving normally apirated engine and give you the option of a manaul gearbox as an alternative to the brilliant PDK. Love your videos.
I have been looking at the k400 kit, but I think I will install fabspeed intake kit + custom exhaust and get the engine remapped locally using local fuel.
you're totally right about the newer cars; in an ideal world, you need to own both 996 gt3 and 991/992 gt3, then your life will be complete lol.

Oh I'm so happy this review exists... the Thai food vs Japanese food analogy was perfect. I don't think westerners are going to understand that analogy though cuz many have never had great Thai and great Japanese. (I'm in Taiwan)

I’ve driven the 991.1
It received much hate for being PDK only, electric steering, and new engine (none mezger). Also was plagued by potential engine failure!
But I think it’s hugely underrated. It is actually an excellent car.
You can hear the engine much more on the 991 compared to the 992 and the final 500rpm is orgasmic.

What was more fun...996 GT2 or the newer car 992 GT3
to me the 996 gt2 is more exciting, it feels like the engineers decided to let loose and have a bit of fun when they designed the car. whereas the 992 gt3 feels like they were focused on lap times. It kind of makes sense because they used the same engine as the 991.2, so they had to find gains else where.
dont get me wrong though, both are excellent.
Okay remind me not to lend my car to a friend when I get one...

@@FizzyMotors It didn’t move the game on, 991.2 GT3 touring is the more interesting car to drive and is less fidgety because it has better steering rack rate and less tire. The 991.2 GT3 RS is just as quick or quicker round a track and a lot more visceral. The interior of the 992 series could be from Audi, BMW, MB or a German taxi. I have owned quite a few GT division cars and the 992 GT3 is the least interesting, to me and to quite a few others who have a lot of experience with these cars - the 992 GT3 RS is a much more interesting car and yet also misses the mark. The most interesting of the current Porsche GT division carts is the 718 GT4 RS, less than perfect but lots of soul - much more fun to drive.
GT4RS is amazing. I will review one some time later this year.
Not impressed with reckless street driving at 80% of the limit. You need to take it to the track and throttle steer turns instead of running at a parade lap pace.
Yea would love to take it on track where u can explore the limits.

Buying it without the lift is indeed a mistake also for when you will resell it later.
