Matt, I watched your video and felt very good about you. You are so far ahead of me when I was your age. Of course that was 1974 when I was a senior in H.S. and if I came out then I would have been physically hurt. That was the times then. I am so happy you guys can come out in H.S. and be accepted. You are right about not wasting your time, I would have given anything to live in these times when I was young. Live, be kind, enjoy your life and love as much as your can.
wow... I just had to agree. Also Class of 74 here. It's been 50yrs in the closet and a whole life lived like a never ending scene from a movie called life. I believe I could have been seriously injured if I had revealed... so.. l have FINALLY arrived at a place in life that I'm about to reveal my own self. I cannot believe how much I related to things you talked about. Kids today are so much luckier than they know sometimes. Be well. Enjoy life.
@JeepNut-rq5fb I feel so lucky to have family and friends that are who they are. They seriously are the best. I’m sending all my love and positive energy! Just know that no matter what there will always be people out there that love and support you. Also - once you get the hard part out of the way, only good things will come 🥰
Michael - what you said is so relatable for me . I was a senior in high school in '77. I was out to nobody then and having a lot of really terrible times. Even 10 years later when by then I was living in a larger city, 300 miles away, I was out to a few people but nobody that I went to high school with. I never had a girlfriend in high school, much like Matt, my close friends were all girls. I went to a very small Catholic high school that was very much divided into cliques, and I was into none of them. My group was the 'weirdo's'. I haven't talked to more that one high school friend in many years, I kind of wonder how many of them assumed that I was gay.
You be open and do you. You live the life you want to live. I liked how you said be open and accepting. You keep working on who you are and who you want to be. Stay special and keep being you.
Matt, I love your video, I can relate to you coming out. When I came out to my parents I was sooo nervous. But I did it and they kinda knew. You have to love yourself before you love others. Hope you have a great 2020
It’s super hard!!! It takes time, and it’s something that doesn’t need to be rushed. I completely agree. You need to love yourself and all your flaws! You can only go up. Thanks for the comment, I hope you have an amazing year.❤️
Hi Matt! Firstly I could follow your video with exceptional ease. Step-by-step, you can really explain what had been going on well [no, I am not a teacher, I just notice it]. Secondly you’re right, always having to explain myself / yourself is somewhat tiring. BUT after all you went through you are able to explain your deep feelings and that’s an ability and advantage I enjoy and feel acquainted to and that I miss at “normal” people a lot. Many seem to have just no idea who they really are. The same applies to becoming emotional while speaking, letting it come and surface, letting it flow and move on. I just love that, it feels so natural to me and so unnatural to ignore true feelings. That’s real thoughtfulness, brains and emotions simultaneously. Lastly I just want to thank you for sharing your experience. Each of these coming out videos help And encourage me becoming and being myself. Best wishes from Germany. Martin
You are exactly right in your video - after watching a few of your videos, I find you sooo cute and fun (wouldn't have expected that by the first visual impression of this video thumbnail though), but I cannot express it really, because I cannot like what I like and what else it was I cannot do (I'm too lazy to listen this video again to find the exact phrase). This really is an important idea to keep in mind. Best luck to you!
I'm 36 and finally starting to come out to people. I have many of the same experiences that you're talking about. It's been an interesting time for me to say the least. Everyone has been nothing but supportive. It's not any less scary as a grown ass man lol, but I'm glad I'm doing it.
Nothing feels better than when you can fully be yourself! It’s hard and scary at first but so so worth it. For me it felt like SUCH a huge weight off my shoulders. I’m proud of you!!
This why it is important that we Gay men have our own spaces to talk about affairs that affect us and connect with other Gay men; in the same way that straight men and women have their own spaces, and straight men and women must respect Gay spaces and respect our differences 🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️

Matt, glad you came out for your own mental health. That's one thing that you don't have to hide any more. I thought that getting married to a woman would "fix" my love. After 22 years, I had to realize that I'm still me and still love men. I wish you the best and hope you find the guy you need.
Good story. Very well explained. Everyone who has been through this can commiserate. I like to try and figure regional accents. Are you from Massachusetts?
Hello Matt. You seem well-adjusted concerning your sexuality. I’m happy for you. As an older gay brother, please be safe. I sound like a parent, yikes. But, I’m finding that whenever I see that young guys are being and accepting of their true sexuality, I worry because at first everything is so new to you and at times exciting. You know about these things, since you are bright and have been dealing with these feelings your entire life. Keep in mind, that the gender you’re attracted to is in all reality a Man, and guys can be toxic. We’re dealing with testosterone fueled guys who for many times just want a quick release. The minute it’s over, some will became very dismissive and forget about the cuddles, or small .talk? I was of that generation that would cruise other guys in areas that can be shady-especially in a large city. I’m noticing most younger guys are finding nice boyfriends who are well respected individuals, so sometimes there isn’t a need to go lurking for some guy fun. Just take care of yourself and listen to your gut. It will usually be right about things. Be well and stay safe. I’m Alex from LA ❤
Loved your video! I understand totally I am gay also! Just be yourself and never let anyone ever tell you being gay is wrong because it’s ok ! It’s not a choice as you know ! You seem like a sweetheart 👍👍
Matt the part about you being paranoid to download certain music from female artist was heartbreaking to me. I'm so glad you made it through that and turned into the amazing young man that you are ✌🏿
I literally only had a girlfriend at elementary school, and it was only like, "They hold hands and give each other little kisses from time to time. They are a little couple. " I realized I was gay and even though it is hard to be in the closet and never have a girlfriend, because people suspect, they always make excuses for me when they ask themselves if I might not like girls that way, it's like everything is easier to accept than me being gay. I plan to come out when I have a little of economic stability and some friends that know, so I am not isolated or afraid, and I can practice being free
Thank you! It means a lot. Being true to myself and making videos that hopefully can make others feel better/laugh/ feel more comfortable with themselves is all I can ask for.❤️
