Muv Luv definitely handles it better than AOT... The fact that eren doesn't want Mikasa with another man stuff was out of nowhere compare to Takeru since he already has chemistry with sumika shows us that Kouki was a better writer. So I never heard of muv luv until i saw the second opening yesterday on crunchyroll and then watched a few videos about the lore and wow it was mind blowing. I was quite surprised by how similar they actually were is like attack on titan just changed the mechas and Betas for titans and just copy pasted most of the plot.
AOT is just cheap copy of muvluv+ultraman nexus. Zeke=zagi,traitors on team (reiner 2 personality and mizorogi 2 mephisto physics),ren senjyu=eren yeager,faust=female titan,etc.
