- On this video, I'll walk you through our newest release, The Doctor delay pedal from Wampler. This originally started as a special pedal for Brad Paisley to use on one of his albums, but it is one of my personal favorites on my own pedalboard. I decided to tweak it a bit, add some features, and bring it out for others to enjoy as well. Give it a listen and let me know your thoughts in the comments!
Available now! More information at www.wamplerpedals.com/the-doc...
and/or you can purchase from amazon here: amzn.to/2wYSdKH
Note: This is a re-uploaded version, the previous version had an error I didn't catch.
A Dr. Who themed pedal range would be nerdgasmic! Names and graphics would be fun to cleverly associate with the sounds of the specific the pedal.
Daisy chaining 'tap tempo'?...That is innovative~!
Oh my gawd, I just got one tonight, it’s gonna be a staple of my tone! Thank you so much for what you do!
I own at least six wampler pedals and they all sound great. My favorite is the tumnus deluxe. The ego compressor is awesome too. They’re very affordable and versatile.
You folks have created so many great sounding delays, so it would be near impossible to declare one or another as the best.
But *this* one is easily my personal favorite. I am sold. Going have to save up a few rupees to snag one. Great demo, mahalo!
just bought one.... Thanks Brian !!!!!
cant wait for it to arrive and jump onto my pedalboard!!!!
Sounds great Brian! I love my Faux Tape V2 and this is going to sit next to it! Synchronising tap tempo is an awesome idea.
I love this pedal! It’s quickly becoming my favorite delay. Thanks for the the great videos!
Has anyone shown this to Peter Capaldi?
LOVED the ending of this video!
That's awesome. I had a guy commission me to build a couple of modified Aquapuss mk2 circuits a few years ago- one was given to Brad Paisley. I loved it so much, I made a 3rd for myself. Brian makes the best PT2399 based delay pedals tho.
This delay seems to capture the character of the PT2399 chip. Most PT2399 delays Iv'e heard are trying really hard to sound like a bucket brigade...I never really understood that approach. You brought out some of the quirks of the chip while avoiding some of the uglier qualities. Kudos!
yah this is exactly the kind of vibe i was looking for. the kilobyte is great but lacks tap tempo at this price point.
Tap sync. Oh hell yeah. You're a good man Mr. Wampler.
Yeah! The doctor is in and I need to see him.
Just got the Tape echo... My new favorite pedal... No more carbon copy!
Nice! I was set on the caroline Kilobyte...I stumbled on this video and I like this a whole lot better. Have more control over it! The 1/8 sync is awesome! And I have that problem with picks too! 🤓
This sounds really nice.
im gonna buy it and just play the doctor who theme for an hour with some slapback delay on the rhythm bit (like the old 60's version) and add some for the "wooo weee wooo" bit
The the Dr. Who theme. And a very cool delay.
Nice one Brian!
Love mine!
Does it just take tap tempo, or could it sync up with synths that send pulse via the 1/8 jacks?
Does the Tap switch also have a self-oscillation function when you hold it pressed down? Can they ever be programmed to keep the volume contained while the repeats are disintegrating as they wonderfully do? I love that but hate the ridiculous volume spike when the repeats self-oscillate. Thanks in advance.
Brian can i get some advise for a few wampler pedals for my fender blues deville 212.. love classic and brittish rock sound
Great pedal, but I absolutely loved the whole vibe of the demo. What a fun character
Love dr who so ill definetly get this!
The tap tempo light should be where the tardis light is js
Brian! Will the tempo sync with Arturia Drumbrute or Beatstep Pro? they have 1/8 clock cable output to sync to other devices. Will this be the same protocol?
thanks
I second the daisy chaining tap tempo thing the person below said.. very innovative. I really like the pedal. Maybe I'll get one but I have an Analogman duel delay ardx20 that I love. But I love you're pedals and I'm going to buy the plexi drive deluxe! Man is that "Marshall in a box" incredible! I like quite a few of your pedals. I also NEED the ego comp so I'll be getting that too. Good thing I've got a big board novo24. I only have analog pedals because that's what I like and idk if Wampler pedals are completely analog but I would like to know. Regardless, I'm getting at least those 2 I mentioned and probably a few more. Are those pedals all analog?
with that size I expected it to have stereo output and modulation ,,, does wampler have any delay with these specifications?
3 questions that I can't find answers to anywhere. 1 will the Doctor work without the internal battery? 2 I noticed the input and output jacks are both TRS, will the Doctor operate in Stereo? 3 I also noticed a jumper block and a cable plugin what do those do? Thanks....
How would this be for bass guitar
Does Peter Capaldi use one of these? Oh, got mine ordered yesterday on MF right before they ran out!
Just curious, delay b4 reverb or visa versa?
will this be cheap since it is lo fi?
What pickups are in that tele?
Only if I had the money... my life would be better with this amazing pedal
Would you say that this delay is meant for the ambient genre or is it designed for more general rock usage?
It was made for brad paisley.
I am so depressed. My Doctor pedal has developed a tic at slow tempo's. Hopefully I can get it fixed but its not looking promising.
What’s the diff between this and the Tape Echo? Which is warmer?
The doctor is more of a lofi delay. More gritty, darker and the repeats are quite different
How is this different from the Faux Tape delay pedal?
It’s quite different, this is more of a lo fi delay
Reminds me of the doctor, doctor who.. the TARDIS.. blue and white box.. bigger on the inside.. delay sounds very spacey wacey timey wimey
Hahaa! That ending! 😂👍
we like it very much, but no one sell it in indonesia
Is it analogue or digital?
Digital
Wanted to share my personal experience with this pedal. The first time I got it the pedal didn’t work. I mean the led lights were working fine but the pedal itself didn’t work. I must say that the built quality of the pedal is high end, the finish is also museum worth and all the components seem to be expensive (not cheap shit) which is really worth the paid price. I contacted the distributer and told about the problem. Without any problems they changed the pedal to correct one which works fine (I guess as it should). I don’t know what was the problem why it didn’t work (the distributer has sent it back to Wampler) but I must say that this seems to be the lack of workers supervising at the company. Paying the amount for that product and not getting the juice from it as it was presented in whole internet seems to be the lack of the company’s professionalism by not checking the pedal before selling them. In our country there are no Wampler products available, so I had to buy it from the third country. I hope this review will be taken into account and there will be no similar issues in the future. I really enjoy all the Wampler products and also I have Sovereign distortion and Tumnus which both I really like a lot and I’m seing in near future in getting few Wampler pedals but this current issue with Low Fi delay pedal makes quite aware. This is all because in our country there’s no local distributor. Hope Wampler will read and take into account this review.
Now about the pedal itself. I didn’t find any review on the internet which says about the “delay” knobs issue. You see when the “delay” knob is turned at 12 o’clock and more on the clean channel of the amp there’re small cracks in the sound. Seems to be the noise which particulary comes from the pedal (the same goes if the pedal is connected via FX loop). Below 12 o’clock it’s ok. The issue starts from 12 and above. I guess you can hear (in headphones) those tiny noises or cracks on Brett Kingman videos reviewing Wampler Low Fi pedal. On the distortion channel the “delay” noises can’t be heard at all. Wampler didn’t tell about this small issue. Overall i really like the sound of the delay, it’s clear, it sounds on its price, it’s ambient and it has its own character which really makes this delay pedal unique. I would say the delay sound itself is cosmic. But as i told before the “delay” function above 12 o’clock has this small issue which really diggs into ears while playing on clean channel. If Wampler could fix this problem via update or something like that, that would be just great. Hope this helps you guys
Is it just me or does he look like Bill Mummy (Lost in Space)?
Did your cat get to your strap? They really want that Uni-vibe.
🤘👁️🤘
did anybody else see the 20 second video?
Not sure about a 20 sec video, but I could've sworn I watched this yesterday. Was it reposted this morning?
Jon Komatsu

JHS Pedals breaking new ground featuring collaborations with Milkman Amps and Boss Pedals...aaaaaand here's Wampler Pedals wasting time on another Paisley custom....
I haven't played the Milkman pedal, but the Boss collab seems like a cool pedal. Thanks for the comment :)
Wampler Pedals I own the Milkman Slapback and will purchase the Boss collab...Please do stuff like that...Youʻre welcome \m/
Nah, I'm not interested in doing things like that. It's a good fit for Josh, but not us.
