- Coats of arms were granted to individuals, not families (with exceptions for some countries, ex. Germany). Sharing a surname with a person who had a coat of arms does not mean it's "yours". The proper way to determine if anyone in your lineage had a coat of arms is to research your genealogy, and then provide the results to experts to analyze to see if there were any members of your family who were granted or bore an arms.

Only rich noble family have coat of arms.
Actually, I am not from a rich noble family, yet I had petitioned the Canadian Heraldic Authority for my own grant of arms. I should have them before the end of the year.
