Beautiful, yet tragic song. I absolutely love it and get teary eyed every time. I feel for all those men and women fighting wars today. Very well written song!
My favourite Dead South song, I could and have listened to it on repeat for hours. Something about it is beautifully crafted. Cannot wait to see them live!
check with Facebook or site he is aka Del Suelo... "Danny Kenyon is the official cello player for the band. He is also a heavy career man so he can't tour with us as much as he would like due to work. Luckily, Erik MehlsenO(Del Suelo), was willing to pick up the cello and begin coming on the road with us and becoming more of a member himself"
Well I pray, every day That the good Lord keep me safe And I try to hide all this fear built in my spine Give a man a day So I can see your pretty face Until I arrive in your arms Well I don't know what you doin' Fightin' in this silly war You're not a yankee, love Nor a grey-back confederate Tryin' to keep these slaves abhorred You were just a simple man Tryin' to do these things the best you can Now it's time to come on home Got a baby in the oven That I need to see before she gets old Well I pray, every day That the good Lord keep me safe And I try to hide all this fear built in my spine Give a man a day so I can see your pretty face Until I arrive in your arms Well I don't know what I'm doin' Fightin' in this stupid war I'm not a yankee or a grey-back anymore I've killed so many men Just to kill so many more Just wanna see my baby before I die In this shitstorm Well I pray, every day That the good Lord keep me safe And I try to hide all this fear built in my spine Give a man a day so I can see your pretty face Until I arrive in your arms Well I pray, every day That the good Lord keep me safe And I try to hide all this fear built in my spine Give a man a day so I can see your pretty face Until I die in your arms Until I die in your arms Until I die in your arms
I think i saw somewhere that both danny and the guy playing the banjo have some problems to go in long tours. So they call this dood and that woman to replace them.

@@juliantrujillo8725 There IS no black dude in this band....DUH!

yeah, danny or no one.
Well I pray, every day
That the good Lord keep me safe
And I try to hide all this fear built in my spine
Give a man a day
So I can see your pretty face
Until I arrive in your arms
Well I don't know what you doin'
Fightin' in this silly war
You're not a yankee, love
Nor a grey-back confederate
Tryin' to keep these slaves abhorred
You were just a simple man
Tryin' to do these things the best you can
Now it's time to come on home
Got a baby in the oven
That I need to see before she gets old
Well I pray, every day
That the good Lord keep me safe
And I try to hide all this fear built in my spine
Give a man a day so I can see your pretty face
Until I arrive in your arms
Well I don't know what I'm doin'
Fightin' in this stupid war
I'm not a yankee or a grey-back anymore
I've killed so many men
Just to kill so many more
Just wanna see my baby before I die
In this shitstorm
Well I pray, every day
That the good Lord keep me safe
And I try to hide all this fear built in my spine
Give a man a day so I can see your pretty face
Until I arrive in your arms
Well I pray, every day

And I try to hide all this fear built in my spine

Until I die in your arms
Until I die in your arms
Until I die in your arms

Luiz Cláudio Cardozo Chaves Yep, that's true. The cello player yeah but the banjo, the woman Eliza I think is her name, might be permanent.
@@lukewilliams8916 her name is Eliza Doyle, but she wasn't permanent. Colton Crawford came back in 2018.
SupeR!!!
can I get some tabs on that intro
Just realized that Eric losts his braces between 2:40 and 2:47, and that he puts it back at 4:24 ^^
It would down his arm

uugh, danny?!?!?,,
I know I'm like why is the dude on cello white??? Where's Danny???
Echt Töffte!!!!
Erik Mehlsen is a great cellist, but I wouldn't say he's better than Danny Kenyon.
BRING BACK DANNY KENYAN WTF!!!! HE IS SO MUCH MORE TALENTED!!!!
absolutely no backing for that statement.
I'm admitting defeat and have come to realize that you have made it far too difficult to pick a favorite song, there are just too many choices.
