- This video was shot in Spring, but I figured it's never too late to post. We all need a trellis in the garden right? This one I built is great for snow peas, snap peas, sugar peas, beans, cucumbers, bitter melon, any light weight vegetables that you want to train to climb.
The trellis I showed in this video is extremely easy and cheap to build. Enjoy!

Wow…the most simplest and practical trellis by far 👍🏻
this is not only useful but it's really cool decoration
This was amazingly helpful! So easy, even I can do this. Perfect, thank you so much!
Watching you make the tireless looked so easy. Gives me an idea to start working on mine. Keep up the good work! Great ideas! 👍
Thanks, you reminded me that we can use these kinds of long thin branches to be a trellis also.
I kept looking around my yard and garden for more permanent, metal type bars or criss-cross somethings that could work, but totally forgot that branches like this work pretty good!
Always great to utilize resources you already have. Make something useful and get to declutter. I love it! Happy gardening, stay safe.
I like growing Swiss chard because they pretty much just grow them self . I always plant them in spring and they always last for a year and go off to seed the following spring / summer.
Wendi this is brilliant thank you! Super cheap and sustainable, the best way!!! I'm going to use this idea! x
I can’t wait to make this! Thank you!🙌🏻🥰

Thanks for sharing! I love utilizing material around the house for gardening. I've made a lot of my own trellises. Thanks for the great info as always! New subscriber here from Florida! I've been a grower/gardener for 6 years and love the beauty mother nature has to offer us right in our own backyards! We are so privileged to be growing many different species of plants!
For sure! I love connecting with the garden. It really brings peace and lightness feeling when connecting with nature. DIY is also a form of therapy for me. Thank you for sharing your experience with us.
@@wendiland That's great to hear! The beauty and power of mother nature leaves me breathless! There are so many endless possibilities!
Thanks so much - just what I need! Couldn't find what I needed & prices were crazy. Plus I have all the materials needed at home already.

Hi Wendi! Thanks for the video!! There is a technique called "lashing" when you want to create a joint like that. It might be helpful if you have any trouble with your joints staying in place. But I love the weaving technique! Great work!
Nice easy trellis. Have you ever seen mini melons? They would grow well on there. I love the mini rockmelon...I may grow them on the fence this summer if I can find the seeds.
Happy Gardening

Delicious recipes using your plants would be great also.
Peas and beans trellis problem sorted! I can get a pack of 10 bamboo sticks for $5 AUD stoked to finally have a budget friendly solution 😊
Haha The method is so simple I almost didn’t even make a video. Glad to be able to help. :)
Smart young Lady !
Also I am about to plant the Fava beans from seed. Do you have any recommendations for proper sowing of Favas ? Thanks so much 😄🕊
I LOVE this idea, and I even have some bamboo growing in my back yard that I can use that would be tall enough! I kept thinking it would come in handy! Do I need to cut it and dry it, first?
I've used bamboo for many years & I don't think ya need to dry it 1st. Actually, green bamboo is more flexible.
Nice!! Thanks!!
Hope you give it a try! :)
I try this
Nice work:')
Thanks, now I know what to do with all of my bamboo poles laying around
Wendi, do you have a book of plants and their medicinal values...... and how to grow them?
I went to your site - seems like you have already done my suggestions!
How annoying ! You're so damn charming, I forget why I'm watching ! All kidding aside , keep up the great work!
great! what's your country? are you in the tropics?
Hi Wendi. I'm actually planning on making a similar trellis with bamboo I purchased from Home Depot but using zip ties for the joints. I'm doing a deck container garden for the first time. I'm wondering if the added strength of the zip ties would actually help it support my baby sugar watermelon or if I need to find another way. Any suggestions for how to do a stronger trellis in the cheap? I can't actually do anything that would affect the deck as I'm renting and don't want to upset my landlord.
What is the name of those orange flowers? they are gorgeous.... Thanks
Thank you so much, this works so well for me, new friend here :*
Maybe a bit too permanent but could also use steel reinforcement mesh (for concrete). Plenty of that stuff around and no assembly required. Cheers.
if you are really in a hurry use black electric tape ( I buy boxes of 100 rolls )
Hi Wendi...that's a wonderful addition to the garden...and i want to make one like this, or two or maybe more...thanks for sharing Wendi...;-) Did Peter and the Boys help you build this or just Tinkerbell waved once her m.wand...LOL... That was easy and quick. Cheers Wendi!!!
I wonder if you put some wax on the string if it would last longer
Luv it! ;-)
Do you know why the cucumbers I have grow turn brown and shrivel
Up? I water them daily. However I just let them grow along the dirt .
Thanks !
Outstanding! I don't have the money for cattle panels.
I like your cute smile ❤❤❤
i do that too
Hi Wendi i love your channel can you please have show on your milkweed plant
I do have a video on it: ua-cam.com/video/khyWEPX8ZxU/v-deo.html Enjoy :)
Thank you wendi I have that milkweed plant any idea how I can keep it alive in the winter I live Canada Vancouver
bitatk I planted a couple in a pot and brought it inside to feed butterflies in the winter. Plant seemed to do well inside. Hope it works for you too!
Thanku
Very nice video. You have given me so many good tips. Take care pretty lady!
Also, do you sell cuttings of your plants, trees, etc so we can improve our health also?
Bamboo and tree branches are biodegradable as after some period of time these would start to decay into the soil and the trellis will collapse
This trellis is meant to be for temporary use. In dry climate, mine lasted for years. More rain will make its life span shorter.
Hi nice and easy idea. What is that yellow, orange and pinkish plant in this video?
Are you referring to the flowers in the foreground? That is a Milkweed, it attracts Monarch butterflies. :D
Hi morning, am from the Caribbean and I saw this flower was so happy to see it here so I can get the name. Am just interested in wild flowers here in the Caribbean , their name and uses. Thanks so much
Tried growing Epipremnum aureum in glass bottle indoor. Its dying everytime i tried despite of proper photo exposure
