Thank you for opening my eyes to a very clear explanation of the new Dell XPS 17 👀👍... the sound, music, camera, and viewing angle are really good ... thank you..Good luck ...
Thank you so much for overlaying older XPS 15 on top of XPS 17... That's what I really wanted to know... How big of foot print was XPS 17 2020.... I'm definitely going to get XPS 17 with 1TB M2 SSD, will add 970 EVO Plus to 2nd M2 slot Will purchase with 8GB & add 64GB Thanks Again
Thanks for uploading your initial review. Could you please consider comparing this machine with the MacBook Pro 16, including your thoughts on the operating systems? I am also interested if you think that an OLED screen would be suitable for photo/video editing. Also, and with your 'radio voice', that background music distracts rather than adds anything.
I don’t have a 16 inch MacBook to compare it to unfortunately! And I do think an OLED screen is great for content creation BUT I do think it’s more of a luxury and if it’s going to be your primary display, I would go with an LCD panel instead for longevity and better detail in darker areas. Nice part about OLED is it’ll look more true to what your viewers will be looking at on social media. And I typically add the background music at super low volume for that reason so it’s not over powering and typically doesn’t include vocals
Hi there, appreciate the quick review :) Could you please compare the thermal performance of the XPS 17 9700 and XPS 15 9500? I would like to get the XPS 17 solely for the better cooling/thermals with the vapour chamber so if it turns out the difference is negligible, I will get the XPS 15 for the smaller footprint and weight. Thanks! :)
Great unboxing video-thank you! Can you please compare the sound of the XPS 17 to the XPS 15? Being that the 17 appears to have more room for speakers I'm wondering if Dell took advantage of this space and added speakers to improve the sound over the 15? Thanks and keep up the good work!
XPS 15 vs XPS 17 (full HD panel/i7 10750H 6 core/GTX 1650 Ti both), which one is the best for you ? I was wondering which one of these two models is the best, since I'm buying from Italy and there's a €360 difference between them. I've heard that the XPS 17 had a better cooling system, even though the XPS 15 already has no throttling issues; I wanted to buy the full HD panel model for a better battery life. The question is: is the €360 gap between prices worth it? Or should I just buy the XPS 15? Thanks in advance.
thinking about getting one for video editing and light gaming. I would def not get that high of a model, im thinking gtx 2060, 32gb ram and i7-10875H. Think it would be smooth for 4k raw video editing with premiere pro?
Yeah that should be good for editing on the go! 64gb isn’t really a necessity unless you’re doing some insane editing and if it’s going to be your primary and only PC I would consider upgrading to 64gb ram separately and just getting the cheapest ram option
YO TOO MUCH TECH. can you do a text on how powerful the rtx 2060 is ? Compared to the 1650 ti on the xps 17. Is it worth the money for the xps for video content creation or is the 1650ti sufficient .. Thanks! Can't wait to see it
Well if you’re editing videos and don’t plan on playing games, the 1650 ti will suffice! It’s better to have a dedicated graphics card but going from a 2060 to a 2080 for example isn’t going to be like a massive performance boost in editing realistically.
We sure are getting pegged where I'm from :-( We can only get 32gb RAM, 1Tb SSD and our GTX is a fucking 1650. All that buggery for AUD5499. It'd be cheaper to come to the States and buy a BTO there LOL. Great vid mate.
So has the "VIDEO_SCHEDULER_INTERNAL_ERROR" blue-screen-of-death I constanly get on my 9570 when I run calls on Teams been resolved on the 9700? I've had the motherboard on my 9570 replaced 3x under warranrty, the HDD twice, I've personally re-installed Windows 10 five times and spent days looking for a fix. Needless to say I've given up, I won't consider a Dell product ever again.
This one I think is a touchscreen, honestly I don’t even use them on laptops because I hate fingerprints haha but I’ll try to use it more and I’ll mention it in the full review!
I need your help. Everyone talks about gaming. No one ever talks about high-end laptops for extreme productivity. I am a Doctoral student, own an investment firm, and run a nonprofit. At any given time I am running Word, Excel, & Powerpoint with 5 or 10 projects on each one. Then, I am running 3 internet browsers (Microsoft Edge, Firefox, and Chrome) with anywhere from 100 to 150 tabs at the same time. Multi-tasking is critical. I run a 13" HP Spectre (4 years old) with 8GB RAM which freezes up constantly. I also run a 17" HP Envy (Almost 5 years old) with 16GB RAM which freezes up a lot as well. I am constantly having to shut down and restart. Under normal usage, both laptops are awesome. What is a great high-end laptop for productivity that won't freeze up? I am running two 27" Dell P2720D monitors. Finally, I travel a lot and being portable would be helpful. Thanks
OLED screen seems nice at first but in reality was just awful. I had to return the previous XPS 15. Ugly noticeable yellow halo on white areas. Unusable for foto editing since it cuts your blacks at a certain point. There's a good portion of your shadow that you don't see 'cause OLED just shuts off on blacks and when they do you lose details. Even on videos you could notice black areas being choppy as if it was heavily compressed. IPS all the way for me.
Very true, OLED definitely does have some disadvantages for sure, I bought the dell warranty just in case on the OLED one so in case it starts to go bad.. 🤷🏾♂️replace it lmao. Most of the time I don’t mind because I do mostly rough cuts of videos on the go then finish at home
@@TooMuchTech I forgot about the consistent flickering of the panel which was one of the most annoying thing. But yea, I think the IPS is still the go-to technology if you need to do serious work, but even for media content fruition, since I could notice the choppy shadows wasn't really anything enjoyable for me. That's maybe why they just left OLED out of their offer this year.
Yeah, most likely it was the change in aspect ratio to 16:10 and need to source an OLED option but they’ll prob switch to micro LED in 2 years is my guess
im so damn obsessed with the xps 15 i ordered i cant wait for it to fking arrive but it keeps being delayed smhhhh. got delayed from 1 week to a whole ass month. i should've had it by now

Probably a good idea! It’s not that much bigger but getting so much more screen and the front facing speakers, totally worth it!
Same here 😂 I really wanted to know if it will fit in my backpack… Thanks! Ordered & Subscribed
That screen really pops in vibrant colors and viewable angles. Nice reviews.
Thanks homie, that OLED screen on the smaller one is really fire lmao
My 9570 has a brilliant 4k HDR screen. However it doesn't help if the machine constantly crash with a blue screen during work calls. Beware.
That feeling when your the first search result
Thanks for the size comparison, mate.

I won’t compare the thermals of the 9500 because I don’t have that one actually! But I’ll compare it to the 9570 from last year that I have!

Did you experience any of the issues?
Love this unboxing man keep them up!
Nice review. Did you experienced any issues with the track pad in your unit?
I didn’t get toooo into depth with that yet, but I will in my full review
Did you have any issues with the clicking sound on the touch pad that some users were describing on YT?
Would this be a good laptop for music production?

I don't recall seeing in the video. But is this xps that you have touc or non touch? Also do you think it's worth buying the touch 4k display?

How much does a laptop like this live? Can a laptop like this last 10 years of good usage?
I'm typing this on my XPS 15 (L501X model) from 2010
No issues with the trackpad?
I’ve heard about some kind of squeaky noise from Dave 2D’s review and I didn’t test that in the unboxing but I will further in the full review!
One of my friends would rather play on a laptop keyboard then a £200 mechanical gaming keyboard can you tell me what you think of this?
He’s cracked bro haha
Where's your wallpaper from (on the xps 9570)? Looks like Taipei
I’ll see if I can find it tomorrow and post it in my discoed!
Do you have any issues with the wobbly trackpad?
Did you purchase this or did you buy it or were loaned it to perform your review?
You mentioned you might get rid of your XPS 15 & get XPS 17...
I didn’t mention that dell sent it to me because they didn’t, someone purchased it and lent it to me but I myself didn’t purchase it
@@TooMuchTech
That's cool of whomever it was...
Model number?
Is it me but does the track pad look crooked like it was unevenly placed? The space between the left alt key to the ctrl key seems slanted 🤔🤔

its a 17 inch screen in a 16 or 15 inch size and you just said 16 inch cause of the macbook 🙄
