  • Brass Preparation is video one in the "Reloading for Precision" series. In this production we will cover the five essential task to prepare brass for resizing. The five steps include sorting brass, depriming, cleaning, drying, and annealing. I cover why annealing rifle brass is important and what happens to brass when we anneal it. I use the Annealeez brass annealer which is extremely efficient and effective at getting brass just right.

This is an excellent series on the topic of reloading. I have been reloading for 40 years and it never get old to me and I never stop learning. Reloading is almost like religion. There are many practices and principals and many guys think that their way is THE WAY and anything different than the way they do it is wrong. I find that all the bickering and arguing quite entertaining 🤣.Great video bro!

Been reloading for 17 yrs and have never annealed any brass. Do all my rifle brass on a single stage RCBS or Hollywood press. Do all my pistol work and .223 on a Dillon 550 B.

Suggest you use Tempilaq 750 inside the neck and 450 painted in a stripe down the case. You want to know that the case is not getting above 450 ....not 750.

Hi - I enjoyed your video and was wondering why you wouldn’t use a laser thermometer to accurately check the annealing temperature?
Thanks and I look forward to your response.

That is definitely a more accurate way to go if you have one. Thanks for stopping by.

Great video! The only thing I do different is use 2.5 lbs of steel media and use the Frankford Arsenal brass cleaner.

Do you ever use steel media with your wet tumbling? Pros and Cons other than the media getting stuck in the cases/primer holes?

Should you aneal your brass before or after resizing it?
