First thing I did with mine was to replace all the nuts, bolts, washers with galvanized. Where I live it gets wet, a lot; and zinc components rust up FAST. Over time you might need a hacksaw to get the barrel apart. Me, I also paint the lower, ground touching metal parts with a Rustoleum rust remover [or whatever it's called - over $10 a spray can] 2 coats, then a coat of exterior paint. I do use the threadlock goop to keep all the nuts tight.

Great idea. I will normally put WD40 on all those parts before I store outdoors. It kind of works after a while they will rust some.

Bought one for my dad, after having one of the plastic (poly) ones split in the middle on me. I noticed the reviews of all the poly models without exception are terrible because they split and break with any kind of heavy use. Thanks for showing the assembly.

The bolt heads that connect the body to the handles stick out a bit inside.. Is it supposed to do that? I cant get it to sit flush.

Hello they are suppose to sit flush on the inside. Make sure you let them fall on the square part. Put the plastic washers after you insert the bolts through. You need to spin the bolts till they fall in the square part of the hole. Hope this helps

Any rusting issues after use ?

I keep it in the garage but I am sure if you lease in the rain outdoors it will rust. My plastic one lasted 3 years outside but ended up rusting and cracking the tub. You can put CRC to help with the rust or marine clear coat if you want it to last.
