No need to apologize, and I didnt mean anything by this, other than the title was misleading, so please dont take offence! I know that its hard to understand how someone meant something, when its just words on a screen!! (From own experience!) Also, will read description now as I didnt earlier!
It's all relevant to the motor, the rider, comparing a pro rider to the casual rider is like comparing a Porshe to a Pinto, this video should be called I am faster than you, because its not the bicycle that made the difference, it's because you're in shape and you can blow away most riders. I am just a casual rider myself, I do it for the exercise and the fun, a way to reduce stress. Great video and most of us will only dream of doing those speeds.
My dad buy a cheap mtb (170€), very heavy and slow. Stock I went at 20km/h on average, impossible to reach 28Km/h (I felt like throwing up if I reached 25...) Slowly I updated every piece except the frame. With a total of about € 1200, now I go on average at 30Km/h without any effort within 10Km (over, I begin to pant). On the flat, I touched 45Km/h, 49Km/h with the wind in my support. Downhill 52Km/h without giving my best. What I mean, I agree very much with those who say that legs count for everything. But if the bike limits us, we will always go slow. Excellent bikes do not make us faster, but allow us to go fast.
depends on leg power how fit you are your gears and size of the wheels and tires. bigger wheels less rolling resistance down hill and on flat .smaller the wheel better for climbing hills and faster turns
Thanks glad you like it. Despite being from Switzerland, the "land of mountains", here's the Definition of a hill: a usually rounded area of land that is higher than the land around it but that is not as high as a mountain... Going over 40 km/h up a 4-5% gradient isn't really slow isn't it ;-) There are parts in this clip with 15% gradient but I know this almost impossible to see in fisheye perspective. There are no cyclocross bikes with 24 or 27 speeds. I have a 2X11, 2X10 and an old one with 2X9.
Today I've overtooken what looked like a hybrid rider. I passed him on flats and then he tried to go offroad which is my turf. Riding on my Trek 3500 hehe. I heard him scoff a little bit but with my chest puffed out. I felt proud :3
Does cyclocross work good as a allround bicycle (commute etc)? Any good/bad experience with gravel? Thinking about getting one but leaning a bit on a pure racer (with a bit wider tires)..
I think it's the perfect allround bicycle. I can ride about 90% of all MTB trails and with Racing Ralphs you are almost as fast as a road bike with slicks.
Velofil Wait you can really ride mtb trails with such bike? Where i live the trials are mostly ment for hardtail mtb's so no rough terrains. Just interested since I dig going sand/mud/grass but also like riding groud
Velofil do you maintain a certain cadence on flats and climbs? Im getting a cadence kit and would know based on your experience which RPMs are most efficient on certain types of terrain. Thanks
This is very individual and depends on your riding style. I try to keep the same cadence in climbs and flats. Of course I sometimes run out of gears in steep climbs ;-)
very fast... i wonder how sweaty on flat and uphill, also can you sustain the 40km/h for a long time? I've reached max 35 km/h on flat, but can't sustain it for too long (on a mountain bike)
uphill - how much %elevation is that? what is the windspeed like? You should have had another friend to ride along with a different bike and swap and retest. This shows how good is the bike and how good are your legs. Definitely your engine plays a major role though! But if your friend can do the same or almost the same, then bike can take credit too.
I don't know how fast ive been on my race bike but it weighs 6.35 kg and I've maxxed out 11 tooth rear and front 46 gearing doing around 100rpm + downhill
home inconu your meter must be incorrect , 40kmh is actually pretty fast, if you using your phone as a speedometer then i recommend you to try a legit speedometer
Not bad at all. I'm just beginner and my bike is much cheaper, but it's also fast. I can easily make 30 kmph on flat and 20-25 kmph on uphill. Also my top speed yet is 67 kmph.
And people still think cars are the ultimate means of transportation, I mean, really? I know there's a danger factor to consider but on most modern cities you get there much faster on a bicycle and you didn't spend one single cent!
Да ладно, матрасников каких то обогнал и доволен. Я на обычном дорожнике тоже таких пачками обгоняю. Попался бы тебе лось на шоссере в боевом настрое...
im standing here looking at my bike and i realize its not fast. none of your bikes are. stand back and look at it. It just sits there. thats as slow as it gets. It has no motor so it wont take me anywhere. Its all powered by me. im slow
Mate you are fucking racing people who arent racing you and city traffic moves at a snails pace anyway. Fucking hell im sure you would have the floor wiped with you if the others were actually going at it
+Jawad Serroukh WTF mate, I made this video just to show people that a cyclocross bike can be pretty fast, in a hopefully entertaining way... Of course nobody was racing, neither did I! Why are you so rude?
+Jawad Serroukh jawad, this was obviously a hilarious video with no selfish intention to be cool or whatever. I was laughing at the average traffic part haha
Passing riders doesn't mean you are faster than them. I drive a 16 year odl BMW 3 series, I have passed Porsches and new 650is and bunch of 335is before, does it mean I am faster than them? The rider might just be pleasure-riding while you go out there with your notion that every single person on the road is trying to outrun the other. You White people sometimes make me laugh.
Title should be ' *How fast can I ride my cyclocross* '... Very misleading title.
Sorry for misleading you... the title is actually a question. Please read the description. That's what a description is for ... ;-)
No need to apologize, and I didnt mean anything by this, other than the title was misleading, so please dont take offence! I know that its hard to understand how someone meant something, when its just words on a screen!! (From own experience!)
Also, will read description now as I didnt earlier!
Velofil What cycle cross bike do you have?
***** Wasnt that bad... Jeez.. Loads of people watched it, its just you who didnt.
+Snipe Camp well you can still know your bike is faster by going the same cadence as someone in front while taking it easy.
It's all relevant to the motor, the rider, comparing a pro rider to the casual rider is like comparing a Porshe to a Pinto, this video should be called I am faster than you, because its not the bicycle that made the difference, it's because you're in shape and you can blow away most riders. Michael Cole i have a modified mountain bicycle could go faster than that bicycle, the heavy tires make it go a long way.
My dad buy a cheap mtb (170€), very heavy and slow.

It's not the bike, whatever bike it is.....it's who's on it.....
Youre wrong. There is a reason ROAD BIKES are used for racing. Obviously the kind of "bike" is a big factor here.
Yes try commuting on a mountain bike
Sometimes it's not the bike, it's the engine which makes the bike fast.
Looks like your legs are a strong engine.
My bike is faster, but I'm not. :) Best answer I can give.
So many negative comments. Get a life people!
I think it mostly is because your legs lol
I too ride cyclocross and my avg is just around 28kph on flat. Just a resist wind slow me down a lot. :D
love your humer, great vid lol, ps wat cyclo cross if that you have, i may get merida cx5 ? thanks Danny
depends on leg power how fit you are your gears and size of the wheels and tires. bigger wheels less rolling resistance down hill and on flat .smaller the wheel better for climbing hills and faster turns
Your riding skil is perfect. I want to know your bike model name.
which bike is this? can we fit the cantilever style brake levers on the handlebar of any cyclocross bike with disc brakes?
Ride the same route at the same wattage (and weather conditions) with different bikes and only then you have a fair comparison.
Thanks glad you like it. Despite being from Switzerland, the "land of mountains", here's the Definition of a hill: a usually rounded area of land that is higher than the land around it but that is not as high as a mountain...

"this thing" is a BMW C1
Warp speed. Kudos. Just subbed!

nederbassie
you can't ride as fast on rough downhills, but you pass them again on the next uphill :)

Awesome :) really enjoyed.
the studded tyres I had on mine are very slippery on tarmac. What do you use ?
+dukeinlondon I use Schwalbe Racing Ralphs, they are very slippery on wet tarmac but ok on a dry road.
What's the song?
Ive had my bike up to 72mph once. But it was on the bike rack behind my car. But honestly I do about 15-18mph on the flat
what is your long-ride speed on a flat road? I ride MTB and get ~30kmph. Will be cyclocross much faster?
I only can tell you that my cyclocross is almost as fast as my road bike on a flat road. It depends on your aerodynamic position and choice of tires.
I do 43kmph on flat with mountain bike
This guy is a monster. I hope I can be as fit as him.
Thanks for posting the video.. I can do 17 mph on my bianchi boardwalk but for short periods of time.
What'd you keep your tire pressure around?
+Tyler Kern max. 3.5 bar with tubes and 2.2 bar Tubeless
good video man ! don't care about some negative people ;) keep going
uphill - how much %elevation is that?
what is the windspeed like?

Very nice.
What tires you use for cx?
in this clip mostly Schwalbe Racing Ralph 33-622 (28 x 1.30 Zoll) today Schwalbe G-ONE Tubeless and WTB Cross-Boss
I don't know how fast ive been on my race bike but it weighs 6.35 kg and I've maxxed out 11 tooth rear and front 46 gearing doing around 100rpm + downhill
Velofil What is the brand of your bike?
Funny, but risky. I got an Idea... try a Drag Race :D I did it @ a Dragracing Event 1/8mile-feels more safe on a closed track.
What is this bike?
Just a Cyclocross Bike with disk brakes, nothing extraordinary.
I want to buy a cyclocross bike, but there's so few models available in my country... And they're quite a bit more expensive than a good MTB.
Same here. But i bought cx instead of mtb and now i'm happy.
the topspeed off my tandemcycle is 37khp on a flat road.
40 km/h are you joking , i reached it on a 26" mtb 44t that cost 160$ on flat road 😂😂😂😂
home inconu your meter must be incorrect , 40kmh is actually pretty fast, if you using your phone as a speedometer then i recommend you to try a legit speedometer
whaa im 14 years old and i can do 47 on flat with roadbike i feel proud also the bike i have curently is really bad and tinking to get a better one
Nice one! FYI That thing of a motorcycle is a BMW C1 ;-)
with a race bike and for a 60km distance i could leave you back at least 5 km
Nice man, my max speed downhill is exactly 80.2 km/h but i don´t have a camera :)
depends of rider
She cana take any more Captain.
at least it's more stable on wet asphalt (than road bike, tt bike etc.).
my bycicle are 43 kph
faster faster faster.. you're humans like all of us. relax and enjoy your ride.
2:13 Das ist in Muttenz! :D Guets Video :)
Dankschön :-) Jä das isch bi dr Dorfkirche in Muttenz
You can't be a veteran if you drive a bicycle
can't be a veteran?? not sure i follow. why cant he be a veteran cyclist?
Because you don't drive a bicycle.. You ride it..
not even and electric one ? :P
It's not the bike that's fast. It's the crazy cyclist, who does 71 km/h downhill on such a road, who is. :P
your cyclocross and my old chinese mtb are same in downhill
And then you woke up.
Only as fast as I am!
Not bad at all. I'm just beginner and my bike is much cheaper, but it's also fast. I can easily make 30 kmph on flat and 20-25 kmph on uphill.
Also my top speed yet is 67 kmph.
the title should be how fit I am?
liked
stay safe!
3:37 ............ wow , that's really fast !!!!
cool ! mine is 59.8 kph .
48 kpn on the flats and 40 kph uphill? you can win the tour de France man 10x man.
LOL, I can't hold this speed forever ;-) pro cyclist can keep up 25-30mph for well over 150miles ...what machines!
Is a cx-bike also faster than a road-bike?
Yes , except on Tarmac ;-)
My cyckle speed is 38 kph in flat and it is a normal non gear
And people still think cars are the ultimate means of transportation, I mean, really? I know there's a danger factor to consider but on most modern cities you get there much faster on a bicycle and you didn't spend one single cent!
Veteran? My dude i reach 52km/h on flat and im begginer Ciclist
Diese Strassen kommen mir doch allesamt bekannt vor :-)
For anyone in America that is just under 25 mph
dude what did you had for breakfast?
70 km /h maximum health that's all
Да ладно, матрасников каких то обогнал и доволен. Я на обычном дорожнике тоже таких пачками обгоняю. Попался бы тебе лось на шоссере в боевом настрое...
me and my 50 year old sachs mtb can do about 35kph
i can go faster than moving traffic by walking :)
48 flat is not much at all i doing 45 on peak on my cheap heavy mtb, cycling 1st month
race bike is a whole bunch faster ;)
Lol@ 3:46 !! to good !
FIRE THE PROTON CANNONS!
downhill isnt really applicable on a road bike, I've hit 50 easy w/ my late 70's schwinn
If you don't fall off you are not going fast enough.
I can driv 75 on my 2 years old MTB
+Justus Dieball downhill or straight, Some good gear ratios there.
my record is 45 km/ph
53 km for me
Uhm doesn't it matter on how fast you ride yoruself. Instead of the bike
im standing here looking at my bike and i realize its not fast. none of your bikes are. stand back and look at it. It just sits there. thats as slow as it gets. It has no motor so it wont take me anywhere. Its all powered by me. im slow
Go faster than an mountain bike in the hard treils not the road
Music barf
passing stopped traffic like that. is a good way to get killed.
fake....Adjust the speedometer after wheel....and see you after..:)
Your not that fast.
i go 53kph on a streight, 46 uphill and my fastest is down hill is 79kph and im 15. LOL
Days fuq I can go faster than this on my townie Electra
Speed of the bike depends on gear ratio and quality of components. And then of course the rider. This video is like how a kid would describe things
yeah, my moutain bike is faster. lol
terrible music?
my Cummuter is faster ur gravel..
Why are you so rude?
because any tom dick and harry can do that. In actuall fact who ever ingraned that CX bikes are slow is the real bender
+Jawad Serroukh jawad, this was obviously a hilarious video with no selfish intention to be cool or whatever. I was laughing at the average traffic part haha
Halarious...Mate get your sense of humour in check
+Jawad Serroukh I do a lot of cycling and I have a CX bike. I thought he smashed it. Good one Velofile.
