HOWEVER IT would have been AMAZING if you all had done a SPIN on this old sidekick concept and made a mini machine with the height and power to not only cut thin dies but the THICK narrow BIGZ dies and Mover and shaper dies that the TIM HOLTZ line has! HOW AMAZING would it be to have a mini Mover and shaper tray to cut out those MINI coffee cups and hears and key shapes! THAT would have really revolutionized this machine and given you something more UNIQUE than is out there! THINK MORE COMPACT than the CuttleBug...but can cut BIGZ dies!! Just the smaller ones!! AHHH WELL! BUT yall can still work this out! Just send me a "test" machine when you do for the idea! ;-)
OH I got my Sidekick and it's Spectacular for all the reasons you said!! I've used it allot and LOVE it!! Another Splendific & Craftabuous Addition to my Craftroom!! I have an old red side kick. Are they similar? I am missing my cutting plates. Would Tim Holtz Alterations Sidekick cutting plates fit the old red side kick?
Barbara Son on the facebook presentation video when someone asked that question he said that the new plates work in the old machine and give the extra pressure needed to cut thin metal dies. The original red sidekick was designed for sizzlets which are a different thickness

I'm puzzled why wouldn't Tim Holtz Sidekick cutting plates work in the original Sidekick? As he said in the announcement three weeks ago they COULD be used. I have an original Sidekick and have adapters for it and can use the thin dies. I use the plates with dies that have foam & adapters with thin dies that have no foam. If I used these new Tim Holtz cutting plates I could eliminate the adapters. Marguerite

This machine is the same color as all of the Tim Holtz Alterations products. It pairs well with the Vagabond 2. I love this vintage color. .....Ugly like beauty,is in the eye of the beholder, but most of the Tim Holtz tools, machines etc.have always has had the vintage look and feel. Why would you expect him to be inconsistent now? Besides the white side kick can go with any colors that anyone might enjoy. The best of both worlds! Although, the color really has nothing to do with what is made on the machine, that is up to you
