This moved me into tears!!! Beautiful music, terrific instrumentation. It took me so long to find a band that really get into my soul and this band did it. Love this guys, they're awesome!!!
Have seen them live twice, and their performance was always spectacular. Love their recorded stuff, but they were transcendental live. Such a fantastic band 🤘🏻
I'm comment #100.. FINALLY a UA-cam recommendation I actually enjoy. Watching and listening to talent like this makes me realize quickly how talentless I am...
Man I really miss The Slip they used to blow my mind live.... Andrew Barr is an amazing drummer he should be on every drummers of now list... I got a chance to talk to him after a gig and he was saying when he was at Berklee he was in a lesson combo with adam Deitch, Antonio Sanchez and someone else rediculous I can't remember. Word and dang those barr Bros are good looking chaps.
0:24 Love Ain't Enough 9:08 Even the Darkness Has Arms 13:10 A little interview 20:55 Half Crazy 27:50 Come In The Water All the members of the Barr Brothers are multi-instrumentalists and super talented! The story behind Andrew meeting his love of life because of a fire at a bar was really intriguing :)
Outstanding musicianship! I have thankfully just learned of this extremely talented group of artists and, in listening to the more than awkward interview portion of the clip, it became apparent why I drew comparisons to The Low Anthem; another brilliantly talented band! Many thanks for posting this gem! Keep up the great sound Barr Brothers!
I think it is his B string, he must not need it for that song because that sound is the sound of a wound string un-winding. This can happen when the string breaks close to the bridge and splits into the two, then you just grab one piece and pull and it makes that sound. I might be wrong though, whatever he's doing it's very clever, hitting notes with the slide while splitting the strings he's making them on!!!
It's an old Gypsy violin trick. It's a braided thread tied to the guitar string. When you let it just barely slip through your finger tips the braids slipping through your fingerprints vibrate the string. The vibration resonates to the guitar string which is then amplified by the guitar. It's sort of like a violin bow in a way. Different mechanics, same sonic principle. Brad is a fantastic guitarist.
12 people Im sure i will never sit and eat with.. I just wanted to let anyone know.. that its early Christmas Morning and Im doing this before the kids wake up.. and having a Very Merry Christmas.. I hope u do too.
They must make huge money on live performances, because you can't buy their songs on most formats, unless your one of those rich kids who's daddy & mommy bought you a new phone app with super purchasing power, what a sham. I've been trying to share their songs with no luck, good luck
hey skeet, tickets for these guys usually run between $15-$20 canadian. cheap as it gets. highly recommend seeing them live. check out their concert listings/venues and check out the ticket prices. they just played on the east coast and tickets were $18. steal of a deal

They are so great! I love the Barr brothers. How does he do the string trick on his acoustic? Anyone know?

nope I was wrong, he say's @ 14:00

well this is tasty
that was an awkward string joke
stop bud
That's just too much stuff to carry around, save it for the album or just save it.
This was great til 4:26. Then he used his high voice. Ouch. Get a singer.
