    I was up to Ashland yesterday. You obviously finished before the rain moved in.
    Thank you Will.

      No rain around here for quite a while. Our summer dry spell came in September. Supposed to rain tomorrow. We need it to get the new plantings going.

      It's good to have help for sure. He's not a bad camera man when I need one either. Thanks Brent.

    That field did really well for you, cows should milk good off that stuff! Going to try baling mine to day after work. Thanks for sharing!

    NH makes the best balers! Only one better is the Processor balers. Sorghum/Sudan is good feed when made right. Great video!

      Thank you. That baler has been very good. I would love to have a processor baler someday.

    This morning dew is almost as bad as having rain. It has been pretty bad lately. Looking good Will.

      Yeah it's the time of year for heavy dew. You're lucky if it dries by noon.

    Interesting green color. Curious to see what it will look (and smell) like when you open them this winter. Cool what you can do when you have a wrapper.

      From my perspective wrappers are good things. I am expecting it to be a lot like the millet I wrapped last year. The cows loved it.

    We’ve gone to taking it right out of the windrow as well, seem when you rake it you end up with a mud ball. What size bale does your baker make?

    • @farawayfarm2520
      @farawayfarm2520  Рік тому +1

      Raking sorghum and millet baleage doesn't seem to work well. You are exactly right. Mud ball. It's a 4 foot wide baler. I make the baleage 52-56 inch diameter. Sorghum was all about 52-54. I bale my dry hay around 66 to 68 inches. It is capable of making a 72 inch diameter bale. Thanks for watching and commenting.

    Hi, Nice video. I’m in upstate South Carolina. Temperatures are 85-90. In your opinion could I roller conditioner my Sudan and bale wrap the next day? What are your thought or recommendations. Thank you for all your help. Trent

      At those temps I think you could get away with that. Especially if you rake it and give it a few hours. I laid that stuff in the video 4 feet wide and let it lay out 2 nights and never raked it. The top was crispy and the bottom was completely green so the moisture evened out in the bale. Thanks for watching and commenting. Let me know if you have any other questions.

    • @MorganOtt-ne1qj
      @MorganOtt-ne1qj 8 місяців тому

      Yes, you can do it that way. Cut early, let it wilt, and bale and wrap the next day, late. 👍

    considering this stuff in dry feed hay

      It makes great dry feed if you can get it dried. I just can't trust that I will get the weather window needed to do it.

      It baled even and wrapped nice. I can't complain about that.
