Nice video Alex. 0:45 - Yeah, Bunyip Station has the same, before and during the time it had two platforms. 14:30 - To be honest, I’m not really a fan of the yellow outlines on the doors of the livery which still has Metro and PTV logos. I prefer the 2022 livery with the yellow outlines, and that “Operated by Metro” message.
I feel the same way you do about the pedestrian crossing. It just goes against what they're preaching IMO. Just because it's a pedestrian crossing, doesn't make it any less dangerous than a road crossing. I use the pedestrian crossings at Berwick all the time (as that's my local station), and I always feel nervous using them and worry about getting stuck if the gates close. I know myself and others can get out using the emergency exits, but there are people that might not be able to, like those with differing mobility levels, such as elderly people or those in wheelchairs. It's just not right and not accessible enough.
I visited Melbourne in May 2023 (my first time in Australia) I loved the rail network they have. Our public transport here in New York is at least ten times more expensive. From where I live to Manhattan it's $19.50 round trip for an OFF PEAK ticket (more than $30 Australian) and $26 for a PEAK ticket (more than $40 Australian). As you go further out from NYC the prices get higher and higher because we have fare zones. Melbourne didn't have them which was amazing. If you want to bring a family of four from New Haven (in Connecticut) to and from NYC during peak hours it's $184. People cannot afford that. Also on weekends our trains only run once an hour and on some branches it's once every TWO HOURS and in Connecticut there are two branches when weekend service runs once every THREE HOURS!! In Melbourne they run every 10 to 15 minutes, even on weekends. The first time my mom and I took the trains there I couldn't believe how cheap it was compared to back home. New York area residents pay some of the most insane prices in the world for public transport and I only realized that when I returned home to Long Island.
I just can’t help but laugh in sheer and utter dumbfounded-ness at the sight of those very high SO-CALLED shelters. They’re going to do absolutely nothing when the rain hits. Almost likewise to the ones at Middle Gorge.
Some of these projects are completely stupid, underground island built type train stations make more sense, and why in earth would they build a pedestrian crossing, surely it goes against the idea of reducing the amount of lives lost to people getting hit by trains? Or maybe it’s just me. The video itself, another great video
Great Video. The new track is great no more rough trip between greensy and monty
Excellent video! Good to see trains all ran on time... must be a great signaller on duty ;)
Nice video Alex.

Back in the day, way before my time, we actually had new stations built with waiting rooms. Not bus shelters.
@@maxrebo8455 I somewhat remember some of them being built.
When they wanna balance space with functionality 😂😂😂😂
7:11 No PTV Logos Next To The Door?
Yeah thats the 2022 livery
thats probably because its new, maybe in the future it gets repainted with teh logos
Finally a duplication they should add a third track
