The Metro Tunnel is on track to be completed by 2025 and it will have the Sunbury, Cranbourne and East Pakenham Lines running through it. Also it will have direct airport connection via the Melbourne Airport Rail Link by 2029. There is also the Suburban Rail Loop which is a 90 km rail line from Cheltenham to Werribee via Melbourne Airport. It’s still 3 decades away from completion, but half of it from Cheltenham to Melbourne Airport will be underground with SRL driverless trains.
Should of filmed more on the entrance lifts stair case and anything else that might be helpful for people that haven’t seen the rest of the station yet 😊
There was nothing really much apart from what you would have seen in my video. The lifts are not used yet and the stairs are just a staircase with a wall on the side
So the entrance and way down to the platforms is to the south side of Glen Huntly road, but once down at platform level it drops you at the southern end and you have to back track? Very odd design
Always thought the announcers were so pointless. There are automated announcements, electronic signs - everyone knows where the train is going. Are the staff just bored and looking for something to do?
@@bernadettemarietavendale7055 fair enough but there are automated announcements. There are those buttons you push. Some station worker rambling over the speakers is adding nothing except unnecessary noise
It’s cool having a guy announcing the services
Oh that was you, thought so,nice cam btw! I was wearing the school stuff
At 5:57, vid time

2024 actually for metro tunnel, thank god the frequency is going to get better with the trains

What are those stairs for at 8:20 ?
I’d say emergency access from one of the roads
That is an infrastructure access/egress location
How our line operates to box hill express middle line stopping all other well except for a few lilydale trains
I remember the Frankston line trains running express on platform 3 but here they were using the middle platform 2
If you see the guy wearing the white shoes, black pants & jacket along with a grey hoodie, that was me filming as well 👀
Nice!

It’s probably just so the entrance is the same as the former station
Is it just me or are the trains don’t appear to be carrying many passengers
they were but some were not taking passengers
@@victoriantransportvideos yeah

Some people out there are visual impaired so need to hear for announcements rather than look at a display
