    How To Fertilise Your Lawn With A Handheld Spreader - How to apply and spread the fertilizer to your lawn with a handheld spreader
    1) The problem here is there are different sized lawns that will need different equipment to spread the fertilizer, but generally for most residential properties you can get by using a hand held fertilizer spreader like the one I am using
    2) Bigger lawns (over 500 to 1,000 square metres) need a big spreader such as a walk-behind rotary broadcast fertilizer spreader, these hold 20 kgs of fertiliser
    3) Little as in regular residential blocks, lawns, you can easily get away with using a handheld spreader like the one I use in the video
    4) You can check out the local garden centre for some good fertilizers and spreaders
    5) Fertilizers with high nitrogen, no phosphorus (plenty in Ozzy soils) and a bit of Potassium - more about this in our Free Report at LawnGreen.com.au - also, make sure to add extra fertiliser to damaged lawn areas
    6) Spreaders - cant go past this little beauty we have - SUBSCRIBE TO OUR CHANNEL AND WE GIVE THE BRAND OF CHANNEL
    7) Calibrate fertiliser spreader - this is important as you want to make sure 2.5 to 3 kgs of granular fertiliser is evenly distributed over 100 square metres of lawn
    8) Any old bits of metal pipes or sticks to help you mark out your fertiliser lines
    9) SUBSCRIBE TO stay tuned for next week's video

      Goodday mate what do you think about immigration in Australia today? The fact that whites are on course to getting replaced? Do you realise that it's bc of jews that every white country is becoming white minority.

    I love my hand held fertilizer spreader...I been using it and it's amazing. I am happy I looked up you video because even though I have a spreader I was told to also put hase the Scott's lawn wheel spreader to put my fertilizer down PROPERLY evenly ..
    I felt in my heart that well why do I need buy that if I have a hand held spreader already ..
    so I said well let me look up a video on someone who's grass is actually turning out well...
    last year my grass turned out very well but this year I mistakenly spreader 13402 fertilizer and it really burned my grass...now it's hardly green so I went over it and raked out all the really bad dead burned grass and now I purchased. the Scott's Max Green Lawn IIron and food ...and I am excited to feed my grass and use my hand held spreader again ..I pray my grass gets the nutrients it needs because I really feel bad that I hurt it. I'll do a before and after and this bag doesn't have any phosphorous in it which is why my lawn burned up cause it was way too much phosphorous in the last 1304 lawn fertilizer that I was recommended to purchase inregards to a greener lawn. Well lesson learned ..I believe my grass needs more Iron no more phopherous at the moment....

      So what do the settings represent???
      Is 1. For 1 pound per 1,000 Sf?
      Help me out here

    • @ruthie_rosario
      @ruthie_rosario 3 місяці тому

      @@sailon4meit depends on the product. Some products say to use 1 pound per 1000 sq ft, other products require up to 4 pounds per 1000 sq ft. It depends on what is in the product. You can usually find the recommended amount of product per 1000 sq ft with a Google search. Just include the name of the product in that search and you you’ll find the answer quickly. 😊

    He has one of the old handheld 2's. The materials in the newer one make them useless for professional lawn techs. The older ones rocked though, the plastics where much sturdier.

    How many applications of fertiliser were applied in this demonstration ? I counted 2 in the video but was there another at the end ? Bag of fertiliser i have bought says there should be 3 applications on setting 4 or 5 to achieve 35g/m2 coverage .

    • @thelawnexpert

    • @Sean-xp4os
      @Sean-xp4os 7 років тому

      Thanks man , since i am a complete novice at this and don't want to end up burning the lawn , i think i am going to er on the side of caution and go with 2 applications on a setting of 2 or 3 and see how things go . Better to have a bit too little than too much as they say .

    • @thelawnexpert
      @thelawnexpert  7 років тому

      if it is a slow release fertiliser you cant burn the grass, so no prob, but never spill a pile on the lawn because that will kill the grass unless cleaned up

      Aluminium - it's an elemental metal, named by British chemist Davy on his third attempt. The first two were 'alumium' and 'aluminum' before he settled on 'aluminium'.
      The entire world calls it 'aluminium' except the USA and some parts of Canada, thanks to Websters dictionary which popularised the incorrect spelling. Which means we all get to have a good laugh whenever you say 'a-loo-muh-num' like neanderthals.
