Throwback - Subhranil Sarkar [Sitar] at 12 years of age - Raga Khamaj

I was 12 years old at that time and under the tutelage of my first Guru Sri Bimal Chattapadhaya (a graded artist at the All India Radio). Around that time, I had received a lot of attention, guidance and affection from Sri Tarit Mukherjee (father of sitar player Sri Abhik Mukherjee) who was Guru-saman for me. I had started learning on a shorter Sitar (which didn't have tarabs) which belonged to Abhik Da. I was 5-6 year old at that time when i had started.
Accompanying me on the tabla was my brother Sri Indranil Sarkar (a student of Pandit Shankar Ghosh).
For a kid, riyaz is often not fun.
Hence, my father used to put me in such kind of concerts, so that I did enough riyaz to prepare. Also, so that I could go beyond stage fright.
