love the move with the shaker
Great rum choice my friend!
I LOVE HIS OUTFIT!!!!
It's Good. It's REALLY good!
Just got back from Havana and had several of these at the Nacionál hotel. They were excellent. One thing I noticed is they don't muddle the mint. In the Cuban countryside we had one and they used honey as the simple syrup. It was really good.
I make a lot of mojitos at my bar and I don't muddle the mint either. I just slap it to get the oils out. People tend to over-muddle the mint and it creates a bitter flavor.
Very nice, I like your style of teaching.
This is such a classy video. Bloody excellent.
Exceptional!
Awesome
Indeed! VERY Classy! Such an elegant and graceful mixologist! = ]
i dont have cub soda but girger ale, can i use it?
This looks delicious! Very similar to the recipe that I use in my video.
Great plug
nisam pročitao ime, ali kada sam čuo akcenat, odma sam znao! :D
@marcelo pin in the description.
Similar to my recipe except I have slightly bigger amounts of each ingredient per drink and I also add 0.5 oz Cointreau.
What is this song?
Never seen a shaken Mojito before, but I'll give it a try. I do prefer raw sugar over simple sirup in a Mojito though.
Shaking is not required. All it does is shatter the mint leaves into tiny bits that then unpleasantly come up when you drink it. In my opinion, it's supposed to be a stirred drink. If there are leaves, be it basil or mint or else, a drink should not be shaken.
I add crushed ice over all ingredients and stir while lifting the mint through the drink, causing dilution. Finally adding more crushed ice. I don't add soda.
Cubed ice? Nanana i love cruahed for a more diluted drink!
I agree not to shake a Mojito, I'd give it a quick stir with crushed ice and top off with more ice and soda. If do choose to shake it, shake it in a shaker and fine strain it to remove all shredded bits of mint, this gives a cleaner looking Mojito.
Plz tell what accessory is attached on bottles' mouths??? Seen many times but dont know what it is & what is its utility
pourer
Just saw a girl slip in her vomit, get up, and keep dancing...#ImGoingHome
Oh my god!!! 😮 I forgot about that lol, I must've really needed out of there that night...
in the bodeguita del medio, where was invented,,they dont use syrup, only sugar
+Manuel almanza so, swinm to cuba and drink that xd
+Fele Villagran Vandorse Savage AF
он не только растолок мяту так еще и в шейкер засунул. трандец :))
Please use crushed ice!
Sigh.... look up El medio mojito cuba, here on youtube. No crushed ice!
Half lime going in and crushed ice!
crushed ice? really? have you been to Cuba? You think Hemingway drank with crushed ice?
He specifically stated in the beginning that he was going to make it the classic cuban way. Go to La bodeguita del medio in Havanna, Cuba were this drink was made, and see if they'll make it with crushed ice. You will be disappointed with them aswell I'm afraid... Original Mojito, cubed ice, period.
This guy is the man. However, you do not shake a mojito. You just don't. He ruined it. The shredded mint says enough. Hemingway just rolled twice.
I've got the secret 💪👌🔥🇨🇺
Shaking a mojito totally makes sense, anything with citrus needs to be shaken. The only probblem is the shredded bits of mints. =/
Ronald Toledo that's where I double strain onto a new glass to not have a mint piece in someone's teeth
Dry shake without ice? Would that work? I have also been wondering what the correct way to deal with that is.
Shaking a Mojito. Without words.
@Phillip Jones he said you could also stir it. Did you watch the video or just spend your time fiddling your kids?
cube ice? omg
Too be fair, he did say 'classic' mojito. Do you really think they were using crushed ice back in the 1500s?
Richard, did they have a way of making ice in the 1500's?
Crushed ice is used for drinks made with strong spirits such as a caipirinha. It's because it melts quicker and helps to make the taste of the drink more smooth.
This ain't the case with the mojito. Here you need ice cubes to keep the drink cold without large amount of additional water.
A "classic" mojito didn't use crushed ice. It comes from Cuba which has a very hot climate.
Crushed ice would melt in a matter of mere minutes.
First arive of ice at West India was at 1806. Mojito was born from ,,Stomach Julep" pirates used him. Dushan said CLASSIC so in that time They used lime, mint, sugar (not syrup), rum, and water (to disolve sugar). They used Ice cubes and not cracked ice (at West India they used it for tiki and another tropical drinks). So think outside of ,,modern mojito" box.
Quantities?!?!?!!?
+marcelo pin Look in the description
+marcelo pin I could be mistaken, but I believe it's:
10-12 mint leaves
1 pt simple syrup
1 pt lime juice
2 pt white rum
2 pt club soda
...and ice.
hahahahahahhaha so much banter
How long has that lime juice been sitting in that bottle? Months?
ForceOfWizardry Since Employees Only is one of the best cocktailbars in the world I would guess they squeezed it earlier the same day.
such fucking hate on the internet. God
A shaken Mojito. What is the world coming to..
Well it has lime juice, any cocktail with juice in it either freshly squeezed or processed it has to be shaken.
Oh and since it has mint it needs to be shaken to be well incorporated with the drink so you can have the taste and smell of the mint which is so refreshing for a drink like this.
Those mint leaves messed up so badly 😏😵💫
men brown sugar is better than simple syrup.
i swear i cant find the damn like button
I miss the sugar in teh Mojito :/
I suppose you don't know that simple syrup is sugar?
Samuel Wiktorsson Is not sugar!! is water and sugar which dilutes both the flavor of the rum, mint and lemon, the classic recipe is whit brown sugar btw not syrup, and it should be Stir not shake
Jose Ayerdis Most bars that I know of, including mine, use simple syrup as the sweetener in their mojitos. Simple syrup indeed is sugar mixed with water. The problem though when you're using only sugar instead of a syrup is that the drink is more or less likely to become unbalanced since the sugar takes quite a while to incorporate into the liquid and some might end up stuck at the bottom of the glass.. My opinion however is that as long as the cocktail gets the right balance it shouldn't matter which one of them you're using. It's timeconsuming though doing a cordial a la minute in the glass, and it's also harder to get the right balance every time. I don't think it will affect the dilution very much using syrup instead of just sugar. If so, you could make a 2:1 simple syrup or even sweeter and use less of that.
I didn't mention anything about the correct method or the recipe for the drink. Although from what I've heard the mojito is a drink that calls for cuban light rum, fresh limejuice (not lemon), sugar (I think white sugar fits the taste-profile of the light rum better than brown/demerara sugar as normally used in the cousin Queen's Park Swizzle), handful of mint and a touch of soda water. I bet there's other kinds of ways but my mojitos are served in smaller highball glasses over cubed ice. I guess it's because the drink would last longer that way in Cuba. The crushed ice as I've understood is something that we like to use in less warm countries to make it feel more "tropical". And yeah, it might be a non classic way to shake the mojitos, but if it tastes good/right why not. Even though I also build/lightly stir them.
YUP! People who complain about Simple Syrup never used it before! Simple Syrup is a game changer!
@@thedetvetdu I feel the best option is powdered sugar, 2 bar spoons worth. And extremely light on the soda, like max 15-20ml. I would even skip the soda if the recipe has 45ml rum. With 60ml rum you can already add a bit of dilution.
toooo duleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
If you have any idea how a mojito is made this should have been painful to watch for you too
If you had any idea how to make an original Cuban mojito, this should’ve been painful for you to type out.
Sorry man but that is no the way to make a mojito :S
