Neil I'd give you that list but if you can't palette progressive metal with extreme metal influence I don't know if it'd be a very fulfilling list for you haha
So I met these guys at a concert with Scale the Summit. I got pictures and the drummer autographed my shoe! I talked to them for a full 45 minutes and they are the nicest people on Earth. Such great vibes, and such great people.
I saw them with Scale the Summit in TN too (for 2nd time). They really were nice dudes. I gave them an old iPod touch to help with their merch sales in exchange for a shirt and a lifelong bromance with the band haha. Still going strong ;)
Saw them opening for Scale the Summit in Boston about 10y ago as well. My friends and I went to the McDonald's next door halfway through the headliner, and Joey came in to get hot water for tea, and sat with us for an hour or so after we complimented the set. Truly awesome guys that do what they love and put out music that they love. Could not be more thankful!
This band . . . it's like they UNDERSTAND music and art! This is really awesome mastery of art and it communicates to everyone! The Reign of Kindo is awesome!
I just discovered this band. It is my first time ever hearing them, and I have already listened to the entire album twice. I will probably listen to it once more before going to bed. I am a huge fan of Terry Kath era Chicago and jazz fusion in general, and I had thought that excellence in this vein of music was a thing of the past. I mean, there are good groups out there, but nothing that really jumps out me and screams, "this is it! This is the next big thing!' Like I said though, that's what I thought, up until I heard this amazing band. So thickly layered with complex songwriting, deep lyrics, a tight band dynamic, but filtered through a wonderfully accessible pop sensibility. This is just brilliant! Progressive yet accessible. Jazzy but poppy. Timeless while also decidedly contemporary. Deep but also fun. In short, everything a discerning listener could ask for from a band. . . and maybe just a bit more. I'm definitely a fan.
For the record, I've listened to this album a bunch of times, if Candyrat Records hadn't had this posted I would not have bought the record. It gave me a chance to get used to the music, now I love it!
I've been listening to RoK for 6+ years and I finally had the chance to see them perform live 4-5 times last year. ROK is utterly amazing and so down to earth. Had a chance to talk to a couple of the members at some of the after shows, really delightful/talented dudes. My favorite band of all time for sure. My only critique of their live performances is the volume on the vocals and the speed in which they play live. I would love to hear Joe's voice be more of a focal point since the percussion seemingly drowns his great voice out. Also, It always feels like they have to rush off the stage since the tempo of their songs are usually so sped up. PS. Steven/Jarvis are so fuckin dope and the pianist who doubles as a fire fighter is so friendly. Keep up the awesome work guys and looking forward to your new music. - A NYC Fan
i didnt realize how much i liked this band when i was just downloading a couple songs. then i realized I downloaded 18 of their songs from all their albums. I'm in to o deep in their jazz lol!
This album is profoundly emotional. I genuinely think music like this will never see mainstream popularity based on that fact alone. People turn and run from anything this real. So pumped that you're touring with Dear Hunter, show can't come soon enough.
I strongly encourage anyone who listened to this and enjoyed it to please buy the album and help support an amazing band who really deserve it and don't get enough.
Can't wait! Seeing them live this saturday November 16th! beautiful music, Scale the Summit will also be attending and this other group that goes under the name of Jolly
I just bought the album. I cannot get enough, all tracks are awesome! If you like jazz with a mix of rock-pop and rhythms of the night, this is for you! Kinda reminds me some of the Chicago's sounds. I hope TROK gets the recognition they deserve nationwide! You guys rock!
They sound so much like a jazzier counterpart to The Dear Hunter. I love both groups and they're similar in a lot of ways. I've loved everything these guys have released so far. Long live Kindo!
The instrumental at the end of "I hate music" is a perfect way to end the song, kudos too that well crafted piece of music that has given me the inspiration to learn how to sing, the bands pacing is perfect and they work so well to compliment each other, there is no clash, alot of thought has been put into every aspect of your songs for this album and it's production value is far above what even some of the most popular bands would go to the effort to for their own albums.
i feel like "learning how to sing" is impossible for me as a 23 year old person with a shitty voice that cracks alot. is there any hope for me? i am good at drums and guitar but i really wanna be good at singing :(
Anybody else noticed the little bits of "Feeling in the night" in some songs in the record? For example, at 6:19, you can hear "'Cause you put a feeling in the night". I'm pretty sure there's more songs on the album that have the same "easter egg" or whatever
Yeah that same melody can be heard in every song. Really a nice touch. Even some melodies from their older records are repeated in these songs, it's amazing how it still all fits together truly a masterpiece
a lot like the dear hunter....if you guys like the reign of kindo, do yourself a favor and check out the dear hunter. not saying one is better than the other. they are both awesome bands
It's funny, I had literally just created a Dear Hunter channel on Pandora and this band was the second one played on that channel after the first Dear Hunter song. The resemblance is uncanny!
0:09 The Hero, The Saint, The Tyrant
5:01 Help It
9:05 Sing When No One's Around
13:05 Dust
17:29 Impossible World
22:47 Don't Haze Me
26:45 Feeling in the Night
32:16 Make a Sound
36:20 Sunshine
40:42 Romancing a Stranger
45:36 I Hate Music
50:57 The Man, The Wood, & The Stone
Thanks!
THANK YOU! I was so pissed when Candyrat took it off! Why the hell would they do that?
How do you do that?
Thanks!
=)
etherealbylar
I went through the video myself and noted the times :)
lol aww the kid didnt know how to say tyrant
Does this band qualify as the best thing you've never heard?
yes. yes it does.
theres too many bands that fit that qualification already but yes
Could I have a list just to listen to them all? Thanks :)
Stay funky,
NB
Neil I'd give you that list but if you can't palette progressive metal with extreme metal influence I don't know if it'd be a very fulfilling list for you haha
Hey,
Snarky Puppy
Hiatus Kayiote
Jacob Collier
Béla Fleck and the Flecktones

Lol I did the exact same thing when they went on this tour. Drummer was super cool. I did not ask for autograph though but should have.
Saw them opening for Scale the Summit in Boston about 10y ago as well.

Kindo = Legend. One of the best groups in existence today.
I just discovered this band. It is my first time ever hearing them, and I have already listened to the entire album twice. I will probably listen to it once more before going to bed. I couldn't agree more. They're like a perfect combination of everything I could ever possibly want in an artist lol.
easily the most underrated band I've ever had the pleasure of listening to.
This band is utterly awesome, the combination of jazz with progressive makes this something completely new and amazing.
Not just that but they put in a latin groove into it which changes everything completely and that's what makes this band unique
Look up Brand X if you want more Jazz/Progressive. Phil Colins side project from the 70s, freakin awesome!
This band inspires me to become a better musician.
For the record, I've listened to this album a bunch of times, if Candyrat Records hadn't had this posted I would not have bought the record. It gave me a chance to get used to the music, now I love it!
Can't stop listening to this band/album, too much awesomeness!
One of the best albums ever!
So I'm going to buy this album after listening to 2 minutes of it.
Dust is so good, love the jazz piano, especially at 14:45.
Yea it's one of their best. Just how the song develops and peaks is incredible
I've been listening to RoK for 6+ years and I finally had the chance to see them perform live 4-5 times last year. ROK is utterly amazing and so down to earth. Almost seven years later - and still my favorite album that's ever been released
i didnt realize how much i liked this band when i was just downloading a couple songs. then i realized I downloaded 18 of their songs from all their albums. I'm in to o deep in their jazz lol!
I'm loving this band. You guys have a similar sound to The Dear Hunter & Sons of the sea.
Duude, The Dear Hunter is awesome! Thanks for the suggestion haha
I quite like The Family Crest too if anyone wants another on the list
Oh my hell.. just imagine a collab with Kindo & Brandon B🤘🙂
This album is profoundly emotional. I genuinely think music like this will never see mainstream popularity based on that fact alone. People turn and run from anything this real.
So pumped that you're touring with Dear Hunter, show can't come soon enough.
I love coming here for my daily dose of Kindo ^__^
I strongly encourage anyone who listened to this and enjoyed it to please buy the album and help support an amazing band who really deserve it and don't get enough.
This is so good! I'm completely blown away! Revitalized. This is exciting and so refreshing and GOOD!
This is so good... So underrated... So underexposed... More!! We need more!!! We need more KINDO!!!!
This band has a really cool style. It's a bunch of genres combined.
Its much more than that lol
Yes it is!!
Love the video games music inspiration they have!!
Its like Elevator music meets Dream theater. I oddly love it. Saw them open for Cynic in NYC.
i cant agree more, well put.
+Kevin O Sounds like a great show. Cynic and Reign of Kindo on the same show. nice
Kevin O i can t see nor the affiliations with elevator music or dream theater. ..
Reminds me of Steely Dan fusion style, strong vocals and obscure lyrics
Love how you guys did the voice over in the breaks! Great job. Really glad I purchased your albums!
Si pudiera escoger las mejores cosas del mundo, después de estos 10 largos años... aún seguiría siendo ésta obra maestra :')
Can't wait! Seeing them live this saturday November 16th! beautiful music, Scale the Summit will also be attending and this other group that goes under the name of Jolly
So, were they good?
+Phil Hale Is the sky blue?
It reminds a more slowtempo Thank You Scientist. Sweet stuff.
Both unbelievable bands that write unbelievable music that's for sure.
Listening to it once again and the conclusion is: masterpiece.
2022, still listening to this wonderful album.
3 years, 30, 300. It doesn't matter, it'll always be sublime
This is The Reign of Kindo, not Sublime
I just bought the album. I cannot get enough, all tracks are awesome! If you like jazz with a mix of rock-pop and rhythms of the night, this is for you! Kinda reminds me some of the Chicago's sounds. I hope TROK gets the recognition they deserve nationwide! You guys rock!
Such a great album, glad everyone gets to listen to it!
I get such a Cowboy Bebop vibe from these guys, especially the Steve Conte tracks, like "Call Me Call Me" and "No Reply".
They sound so much like a jazzier counterpart to The Dear Hunter. I love both groups and they're similar in a lot of ways. I've loved everything these guys have released so far. Long live Kindo!
Loved it! Please come back to Brazil (and save a date to Brasília :D )
Please upload this album to Spotify!!!!
Unfortunately they are completely against Spotify, so don't get your hopes up. :/
Well well what do you know
TOTALY AGREE! They are amazing and need more support. The CD is only $10, and the quality is amazing. Trust me, you wont regret it, buy it!
''Sing When No One's Around'' is the best music i discovered in 2015 =) (sorry the bad english)
Absolutely stellar stuff. Every song just blows my mind, but Dust is just perfect. Cheers, Matt and Candyrat.

I don't regret buying this.
This lyricism is so philosophically rich. Wanna feel amazed at life? Listen to this album.
17:16 Impossible World 😍😍😍
in love
my favorite track
Just got back from seeing the band in Allston, Mass. You guys kick ass! Finally got a copy of the self-titled EP on CD too!
I was there too... Reign of Kindo killed it!
This band is sooooo awesome.
even if I think its their weakest album and my least favorite, its still pretty fucking great.
I perked up and immediately liked at 10:02 damn
1st song Sounds like the Dark World Theme in the Legend Of Zelda A Link To the Past OST
They actually played Dark World before this song on their last tour.
I get an F-Zero (original, SNES) "Mute City" vibe from it. These guys probably played Nintendo as children. Internalized the melodies, probably.
Definitely buying this, absolutely KILLER album guys. You never cease to amaze me.
Does anyone still listen to it?
Every day
Anybody else noticed the little bits of "Feeling in the night" in some songs in the record?
For example, at 6:19, you can hear "'Cause you put a feeling in the night".
I'm pretty sure there's more songs on the album that have the same "easter egg" or whatever
Yeah that same melody can be heard in every song. Really a nice touch. Even some melodies from their older records are repeated in these songs, it's amazing how it still all fits together truly a masterpiece
These guys just keep getting better and better
"The Keign of Rindo"
awesome band!!! Going to see them live in NYC Jan 15th
Awesome that you're putting this up. Hope everyone who isn't familiar with TRoK enjoys it, I for sure certainly have.
This is truly incredible, guys. Congrats on another gold one.
My favorite CD of this year, bar NONE. Can't wait to see you guys at The End in Nashville next month!
Listened to the whole thing. I love it!
From 54:10 to 54:20 he sounds so much like Casey Crescenzo! Incredible album as well, truly the most talented band I listen to.
a lot like the dear hunter....if you guys like the reign of kindo, do yourself a favor and check out the dear hunter. not saying one is better than the other. they are both awesome bands
It's funny, I had literally just created a Dear Hunter channel on Pandora and this band was the second one played on that channel after the first Dear Hunter song. The resemblance is uncanny!
I just bought this record! Thanks!!
I'm really loving all the audio intros hahaha
Why this album isnt on itunes outside of US? :(
You guys forgot to link to the "Don't Haze Me" video in the annotation! :D
Great to see you guys uploading this here for everyone to hear.
Dang iPad....the quality is astounding from the recording to the writing, arranging and that voice....stelle
2024 and still liistening
"whoever puts that garbage on the air must love the smell"
Awesome that you posted the entire album; thanks!
Just a crit to the band. This album sounds "over-produced" in my opinion.
Why take out of Deezer/Spotify/etc almost every song from TRoK? I'm very disappointed...
Please get this Album on Spotify ASAP ! :)
DUDE! I recognize that at 11:18 from Morning Cloud! Thanks for the fan service ;)
This is amazing. :)
"I Hate Music" is fantastic
So good
Still good
I don't get how Reign of Kindo is so underrated!
I love this music - enough said.
Toda una experiencia musical...
Man, this makes me sooooo happy! xD
Harmony in my mind
The Keign of Rindo
Sooooo good!
Saving to buy this album!
Close to perfection.
Dynamics on this album are a little wonky by god damn the vocals are pristine. I wonder what microphone he recorded with.
+KennydeathV2 totally agree about dynamics! Still very solid, the songs are so complex and must be so difficult to mix simply.
Come play out west!
O ritmo de Impossible world é puro Brasil. Muito bom!
the section at 34:11 (Make a Sound) is fucking phenomenal, still gives me chills
Fucking amazing
I dug this album ooh lala
Yeah man!.......wow.......the qualti
I wish your tour included Sweden!
wow. this is not what i am used to from candyrat.and this is great too. wow.
Bought and downloaded. :)
Listened to it for like 10h on first day :D.
11:18 part from another one of their songs Morning Cloud :)
School Food Punishment
if you guys like this band ther eis one called Post Pluto in spotify that is amazing, kind of the same sound.
Not at all the same sound
You have any idea if they'll put these songs on spotify? ^^
+SaaraM95 They were on every platform, now they just took off some songs...
I can't find this album on spotify unfortunately, except 2 of the songs.
+SaaraM95 I've found 4 songs here: /album/7n9JKPR7lnHYKj22obdHvt
