In Baba Is You, the rules that dictate how the game works are present in every level as movable blocks. By pushing them around, you alter the way the game works and cause surprising interactions, changing solid walls into passages, making water float in midair and even transforming objects into others!

Slopes? Huh? What's that about?
it's a reference to the fact that Super Mario Maker 1 does not have slopes in it (although smm2 does.) This was a common complaint for players, but Nintendo never did anything about it in the original game because slope physics are too hard to program.

I never expected you to include a bunch of levels _in_ the update. I honestly thought the whole thing would just be the level editor, and a few new words, tiles, and music tracks for level makers to use.
This game is my favorite example of complexity and simplicity coexisting. A remarkably well thought-out concept, and just a marvel that you are able to make this game single-handedly. Baba is You is the single greatest puzzle game out there. It's the reason I even _like_ puzzle games at all. I can't wait to play the new content, and maybe some custom maps too!
Someone asked if the new levels are going to be integrated into the campaign or if it's just going to be "extras" in a level list. I hope we can get an answer to that, but honestly just the fact that we're getting an update of this size at all brings a smile to my face. Hempuli, you mad genius. You're quickly becoming my favorite game developer.

I'm a fellow indie game developer for the past decade or so. And your game had me in tears yesterday because for as long as I can remember I've tried coming up with a sick game concept and I just can't do it. Congrats on Baba Is You. It probably is one of the greatest single player puzzle games to ever exist and I hope one day I'll finally have my breakthrough as well.

BABA needs a spin-off game. An adventure game, with a story, and not necessarily hard puzzles. It has all the elements, the cuteness, the music, the characters.
the editor allows you to make your own worlds i believe, so you can pretty much do it

Oh hell yeah, this is great news! I just got back into this game a few weeks ago and have been loving it. And getting stuck. I just know the fan made levels are gonna be insane.

Whoop whoop update out soon! (It’s weird thinking I bought the game in December of last year, thinking it would come out in January. Ah, thinking back to my first conversation with Hempuli, asking him things about the update. (I still feel honored to be able to talk to this incredible person, even if it was for a short conversation) It’s weird how much time has passed since my time playing the game, especially the opportunity in the noun vote (Thank you for trumpet, the brass instrument I’ve been asking for)) I’m just going to use this opportunity to say thank you to Baba, Keke, all the other members of the community, and most importantly, Hempuli, who has provided me with a great game to play for the last year, and a outstanding soundtrack. You have made this past year for me great. I will remember this game for a long time. Thank you.

Shady Cicada's Attempting to Make series, "Make a Synthwave Song in 10 Minutes". He added a megalovania bit in there, and unlike real Megalovania, **that** one goes D5 D5 D6 G5 (F5 E5 D5 A5 C#4 F#4). This could potentially be the most obscure way to reference something I have ever seen.
(Ninja Edit: On second check, Shady's Megalovania was 2 Octaves lower. Maybe I misjudged.)

Cool update! Just one thing: Can you try and make making level packs easier, and compatible with the Switch and Itch versions? I only have Baba is You on my Switch, so I'm missing out on all the amazing custom level packs others have made!

Hello Hempuli! I am a mobile player and I am very sad that the editor may not come, so I have an idea, that I think would help you. So I am a mobile game programmer, but I don’t publish my games because I’m afraid of hate and don’t know how to monetize them, but I have experience of making mobile game editors, so I recommend you, if you can, reuse code from the map/world level choosing system, and make it so in editor grid you play as “cursor ” that moves like baba, and make the back panel have new buttons (or change the existing buttons) that will be: place, destroy, reverse (or flip like in pc) and settings. Then make controls of the cursor like the babas one, or like the level choosing one, but with “noclip” that way it would be easy to control and place blocks, and make the new pallet button in the parallel side of the screen (to the side panel) and make a button to show and hide the pallet and ui, only leaving the cursor, place and delete buttons. Then I think that you can add all the ui from the pc version, because it already has everything: from keyboard to the custom blocks and objects, then I recommend making it scrollable (like left and right or up and down) so it takes less space and voila! Level editor in mobile version! Then it is just the matter of time: how long it takes you to make textured and ui working!

Just wondering, in terms of custom levelpacks, I can't seem to work out how to put a level from "Custom Levels" into a "Custom Levelpack". How do I do this? Or has this not been implemented?
