I feel it would be to easy to try and over capitalize on your books especially the hot books and charge as high as a price as u can, especiallyconsideringhow much you've spent lately. I just wanted to take a monument to come and say I appreciate you charging reasonable rates. Thanks for another informative and interesting video. ASM 301 was the first comic I thought of with a huge differential between a 9.6 and a 9.8. Auctions for an ASM 301 in 9.8 tend to be explosive as well as expensive.
I'm constantly seeing this as I value out books. It's pretty crazy when you think about it, especially with the challenges of CGC's grading accuracy and consistency. But, yes, as I go through books I think, "Oh, thiis looks like a good submission candidate!" And then I check GPA and 99% of them just aren't worth the expense risk. For me, anyway. Another great video.
Bry are there any grading courses you can recommend? Sent a book away which thought was an 8.5/9, CGC sent it back a 6.5. Shocked. Paid $200 for the Raw & Grade for a $90 Saleable (rec $75) book. Advice appreciated. Cheers

I sent in an X-Men #131 in my very first submission. I didn't have as good of an eye as I do now, so I got hit with a 6.5. Thinking about trying to CPR it to see if I can get it to an 8.0 or so, but the difference probably isn't worth it.
After hearing that Gem Mint was getting a regular check from Whatnot to drive viewers to the site I really hope they have you under a similar contract because if not that’s ridiculous. You consistently have the highest viewers in any given one of your comic shows on the platform and bring them so much free advertising via your videos.
Some of these price bumps are understandable. When even minor stresses on a book become easier to spot, then you aren't gonna fly under the radar with those graders.

I noticed a lot of the X-Men keys from early 80's have a big premium on the 9.8. #137 is one that comes to mind first.

Paying those prices for a 9.8 is just ridiculous 😂 meanwhile a 9.6 is just about as good in most cases and cheaper to buy and also easier to sell.

the captain america is definitely faded and off white, cgc hits hard on that, thats why it is a 7.0 and not an 8.0 in my opinion

I would think most books would take a huge jump hitting a 9.8 or better. Why would you just limited to the ones shown here?
The ones here have abnormally huge jumps. Usually it’s about 2x from 9.6 to 9.8 with a ton of nuance of course
