Yes but you CAN improve the speed and efficiency that your pc handles/processes the data being received from the Broadband connection, thus resulting in faster and better performance online.
e.g. stick a badly configured pc onto a Broadband connection and do stuff on the Internet and then stick on a new, well configured pc onto the same connection.... and that machine will be faster and will perform better.

Barry, I have a 1Mg of internet speed and I did the speed test it now runs at 2 Mgs. That's twice the speed.. Web pages opened before in 17 seconds, now they open in 5 seconds. Sorry for your trouble. I am puzzled as to why you are having trouble.
When you click the Download button on the web page simply start the install and 'SKIP' crap that appears as optional installs (even thought he skip is greyed out!). Then the Full Speed software install will start.

Yes it works for all Browsers and all Internet activity such as downloading and streaming etc. The reason that IE and Firefox are mentioned is because they are specifically tweaked to work faster. If you just choose IE then all other tweaks are applied whther you use IE or not.

Full Speed does TWO things:
1. It improves IE and FF by making them load pages faster.
2. It improves Windows receiving and processing speed of ALL DATA from the Internet. (i.e. download speed)
So even if you do not use IE or FF you still get the benefit of point 2.

It tweaks about 50 different networking, Internet and other registry settings. Each one doesn't do much on its own but all together they combine to make a big difference.

@mi805 Basically it allows your web browser to request more data from a server than would normally be allowed.
It also changes some transport settings that affect how frequently data frames are sent, but these usually end up at the closest bottleneck such as a router anyway.

Yes, we are re-coding a new version because Firefox is beginning to cause more trouble than it is worth when trying to tweak it directly and with so many different versions kicking about these day!!

@BarryTaylor101 I'm only asking because you don't explain whether the TCP delay for any routers between my PC and ISP could also be a bottleneck in the connection. If so your program would also need to adjust these as well for there to be any noticable difference.

Broadband is NOT all about SPEED and so the 70MBits thing you mention or modem limits is not an issue. It is about the amount of data you can send and process AT ONE TIME not just how fast you can send the data. If you improve the efficiency of the data sending and processing and receiving stages then you get overall 'speed' improvements.

Full Speed software will will boost ANY computer but it will not change any settings in Chrome or Safari, only Firefox and IE.
However this ONLY means that web page loading will stay as it always was on your pc, BUT your download speed will be faster NO MATTER what browser you use.
