I followed your awesome precise directions and got it on and my frig is cool! Thank you so much for showing each detail and how to do it. My daughter said I had a lot of guts to try and fix this - but your video gave me the confidence to try it - and I did it! I didn't have to purchase that additional panel that the repair man stated I would need! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

Thank you very much! The instructions were very clear and easy to follow, I replaced the sensor today and fixed the fridge problems.
One small comment: instead of cutting the insulation at min 6:20 you can peel it off and then reattach it. It worked with my fridge.
    The problems that were fixed:
    1) A couple of months ago the temperature indication in the fridge went bad; the panel was showing 80 F inside, while the fridge was actually cooling as it was supposed to, I confirmed it with a thermometer, it matched the setting of 42. I bought the sensor for about $11 on Amazon, but did not replace it.
    2) Today it started flashing "2 C" and the controls like water/ice etc. were not working. I decided to replace the sensor.
I did and the fridge is working great now! All problems are gone, thank you again!

Bought a temperature sensor from Amazon.
Amazon listed DA32-10104N as a "temperature sensor".
But it is actually a defrost sensor.
    Now have to get DA32-00011C.

Thank you so much for this!! Saved my fridge and wallet … although the set to put the bottom shelf on and clicking in the water filter at bottom won’t click (water won’t work so assuming that’s why)
It was really hard to take that shelf out - is there a truck to get it working or do you have a video on fixing that part? Thanks!

Thanks for the info. I think you need DA32-00011D, I bought DA32-00011C the cable is to short, need to be a lot longer cause in later panels the sensor is right over to the right behind the little vent, between the front plastic and the Styrofoam, had difficulty trying to split the Styrofoam and the plastic, so I had to lever the two apart as best as possible to get the old one out and the new one in. incidentally I had the local engineer out to fix it? and it failed about a year later, it look like he used the right cable but fitted it to the defrost sensor, cause it had the wrong connector, he snipped it off and put the connector from the defrost sensor on it, I ended up changing both sensors, the fridge sensor measured 4K Ohm at room temperature and the Defrost measured 7k Ohms, the new ones measured 6k Ohms. works perfectly now. I'd suggest that you keep a spare for the fridge and defrost sensors, then when you have problems and have to take the twin cooler panel out it's easy to remove the defrost sensor and measure them against the new ones once they have been out of the fridge for about 10 minutes and don't vary resistance a lot. Having both go causes horrendous problems which might cause you to get told you need a new control board, it looks like the software can't cope with it, my defrost heater wasn't switching on but the fan was, so it was icing up. I checked the control board and the computer wasn't putting out a signal to switch it on. and the front panel was showing 30C, once I changed both sensors everything was back to normal.
The company that came out took 15 days to send somebody who didn't know a lot, he went away saying it needed a sensor and a control board, then about two weeks later another engineer came out and changed the freezer temperature sensor, forgot to mention fridge was around -6 C, then it went to about 0 C. Now I turned icebox off as soon as the first fault occurred, but unfortunately I didn't turn the tap off outside of fridge, so water poured out once it thawed out, the second engineer says it need a new water filter assembly, a few weeks later the first engineer turns up to replace the sensor I mentioned earlier and it appeared to be working better but he said he had the water filter in the van but he wouldn't fit it as his boss said to make sure it was OK so far, then a couple of weeks later the second engineer who originally said they had never had this problem before comes with a new? water filter assembly, but he has to take the lights out of the old one to put in the new one and say's they always have to do it as they don't come with them, I'm looking at the assembly and notice the solenoid at the back of the assembly, so their is about 6 inches of pipe bringing the water in, know I suspect that this bit of pipe had split, before I had a chance to have a better look he tells his apprentice to take the old one back to the van, as I see it the warranty had run out so I was paying for it. So I should have claimed it as my property. So I think they know this is likely to happen if the fridge freezes so they take their time coming out, they charged $250 for the Assembly plus labour. So then they get a new bit of pipe and wait for the next sucker to come along.
So they won't be coming back, fortunately I've been in the electronics repair business for 60 years but never in domestic appliances, but I've a lot of experience trouble shooting computer systems hardware (About 45 years}, so I acquired a service manual, searched the internet for knowledge which mainly came from UA-cam, and will be carrying out maintenance of my domestic appliances that are out of warranty in the future.
I know it's a bit long winded but I hope a lot of people read this and don't get caught out because my experience is that a lot of engineers can't cope well with computerized systems which is in just about everything.

So is the temp sensor only reading, controlling and displaying the temp in the refrigerator or does it play a role in the Htr. Defrost activation too - anyone know?

What is this temperature sensor actually used for and do I need it? I had to remove the entire back cover (w/fan and sensor) due to ice buildup killing the fan. So there is no temp. sensor now connected. After running a bit, refrigerator shows correct refrigerator temp. and all seems to be working fine. Just looks ugly inside due to no back cover! But I won't have ice buildup around the fan anymore! Happened several times. Horrible refrigerator design! Thanks in advance for advising on the sensor.

@@jonathantaylorgarcia9557 It will work but freeze your food. Same as if the senor was broken. The ice problem is usually the other sensor by the evaporator coils. I have replaced all of these sensors several times since I bought the fridge in 2014.

Samsung products are so cheap. You see the sensor is placed on top of the Styrofoam. I would just let the cable dangle and tape the sensor to the part that's icing up; no sense in cutting into the Styrofoam to get at the sensor. The sensor is to detect the temperature below a certain threshold which would trigger the heating component, so that water from condensation does not freeze.
