A great way to make a fume hood is a box fan, a filter like in the video, some cardboard, and a dryer vent tube.
In my garage at home if I am making dust I will slap a 20X20 air filter on a box fan to collect the majority of the airborne dust.

I' surprised you didn't get the Model Master metal turned barrels...With those there's no flex or wavy barrels
