Hiking 28mi-Lost Creek Wilderness Loop- Day 1

I drove from Wyoming to Colorado Springs to tackle a very complicated trail, Lost creek Wilderness. there are many variations of this Loop but this ine seemed to have a lot of spectacular views.
This video is day one as we got about 2000ft elevation gain and hiked in about 9 miles. we u fortunately got a very late start but we managed.

I am looking to hike this in the end of August this year. I am planning to go clock wise so that we leave the best views for the end. How were the bugs at the time of year you hiked? do you have any advice?

For most of the hike bugs were not an issue. We went CCW and we stopped at Hay Creek at the base of Mcurdy mountain. When we setup camp there, we noticed there were Some mosquitos but still not even that bad. The camp was off trail approximately 20ft and also about 20ft from the small creek that was running. I also brought with me a flextail repel and it seemed to make a difference.
