Having been done up like I kipper recently with a used car purchase I decided to give car vertical a go with the replacement.
It's done the job brilliantly and I'm now happily driving round in a problem free ford focus.
The 10% discount came in handy as well.

Your grandchild had a lucky escape. I will definitely be using it when I'm getting my daughter her next car. Or even better when she buys it.
That window module, check it out by part number, theres a very good chance that it may be used in other cars of the VW branding including Skoda, Seat etc .
i used to use a g clamp to push pistons back
16:05 shows rear doors open on the dash lcd display? Could be a programming issue as it's only a 2 door.
Also check the wires between door and a pillar.

The windows are doing what is called a “Peter Crouch”
Cheered this dull Saturday morning up, thanks to Chris & Rob for another great video.
Car has lost some module coding due to the flat battery (hence the MFD shows a 4 door car, not a 2 door). This is very common on the EOS and some other VWs of the same era. VCDS / VagCom can sometimes resolve this by changing the coding of the related modules but if the recoding doesn't take then often the dealer has to sort. You'll need to make sure the previous 'work' did not involve changing modules or tinkering with the coding to rule out a failed repair attempt.
Yes, definitely some lost coding, I noticed the 4 door thing.

Hi Rob
I have an EOS. The drivers side air bag fault light, is a known common fault.
It will be the yellow connector under the drivers seat, not the yellow connector from the floor well to the seat. It just needs disconnecting, cleaning with electrical contact cleaner, then reconnecting. Clear the fault and it should be fine.
BTW, the official VW repair to this fault is to cut the yellow connector out, and solder the wires together, thus removing the connector completely. I've not done that on mine. You will find that it will probably fail again within a year or so, and will need cleaning again.
Had an eos for a few years. Turbo, dsg in grey with red leather. Lovely motor.

Bloody hell that looks mint! Love black with cream interior, Looks like that rear brake has been stuck on for a while by the colour of the back wheel, hopefully it's a simple fix and someone can enjoy it again
Always a great job but my girlfriend heard me watching this and commentesd on how chilled these guys are with each other. And it's true. I'd never realised it.
I had a 2007 EOS about 6 years ago Roof issues are usually the sensors as the roof comes down and won’t go back into boot. The main culprit is usually the sensor behind the driver and passenger seats near the rear passenger windows. Might need a clean or slight reposition Great little cars good fun
When the battery has gone flat, it's very common to get the dashboard light up like a Christmas tree. The usual fix is to clear the faults, charge the battery and restart the car. Usually puts all or most of the lights out.

Funnily enough a mate is having issues with his EOS windows too. Had a motor which made no odds, now told he needs a full regulator. He's been told windows are a common weak spot on the EOS. We're just enjoying taking the mickey as we all told him to steer clear of it as it was a 2006 with some sketchy history, but his mrs was keen! I'll have to tell him about the control unit, might save him some messing about - they're a struggle to find online though

Great Video as usual guys, not sure if anyone else has noticed, but the MFD is displaying back doors as if it were a 4 door (at 15:58) - something isn't right there, check programming or has the clocks been changed or MFD and or module..... I'm sure the EOS is a 2 door ;)

It's a lovely car fellas..one to be enjoyed in summer with the roof down..evidently the only hard top convertible with a sunroof..i found out the color of the interior is called Cornsilk Beige. Don't give up on this one...im sure eBay motors will have the parts you need. Best Regards👍
On Mk5 Golfs the airbag light with a crash sensor code is often due to a dodgy connector underneath the front seats. You just have to take the connector out and solder the wires so you get a lower resistance in the circuit. Takes twenty minutes (mostly getting the seat out).

Had one of them with airbag light on. Happened after a battery issue. Needed to reset the module itself and drive it down road to clear it. Worth a shot if you can get into the module's with your scan tool and reset.
Another good start to a video guys🤩. I work with someone who used to have one of these (07 plate), they had exactly the same problem with the electric windows, sticking, dropping etc. Would come out of a morning to find a window had just dropped half way during the night, how crazy is that!

Great video - battery condition is so critical to modern cars with lots of modules. This comes up a lot and is my first check after reading the DTCs.

Hi guys. Love the channel. I had an eos before that dam nearly broke me trying to fix it. There is a module that controls roof and windows in behind boot carpet on passengers side that gets wet from water leaking due to bad design. Pins and wires corrode away.
Is it a convertible as well? Nice little VW ! Looking forward to the next one ! 👍🇨🇦
They are very similar to the Ford Focus CC. I'm Admin on the Facebook Focus CC Owners group and we have the same issues with the modules. You may find that the relay has gone in the control module. You can replace them if you are competent with soldering and can source the part. I'll be interested to see what problems you find with it. Also might be worth checking the plug connectors under the front seats for the airbag light and just make sure they are seated correctly as this can cause a light on the dash. Great video guys.
I changed one of those window motors on my touran, the new used one came with a new module. Strangely enough the window went the wrong way on the switch. So i took the module off my old motor and used that instead. I think the new one was from a golf. It had the same part number as mine though. Anyway consequently I have one that works sat in a box. You can have it if you like, i have no use for it. I did think about swapping the motor pins around but couldn’t be bothered. Let me know.
Also vw’s awlays throw traction, abs and steering faults on flat battery. You drive them a few meters and turn the wheel they all usually clear.

Shame the other regulators were missing on the VW in the breakers yard, I mid years ago trying to get a heater unit for a Rover 820 and every yard I went to and found a Rover someone had beat me to it, ended up straight wiring the heater so it was blowing all the time the car was running.

Unusual for Chris ,all he needed to do on the caliper was a small pair of stilsons on the piston worked back and forth ,bingo ,done it many times on a badly seized caliper .

Module in driver's door on VW group motor controls a lot of the ancillaries , I had loads of problems when my door loom went.
I've also found that once VW calipers go sticky , they're toast , they'll free up then just stick again a month or two later.
the windows will be blocking the roof from opening , once they go up and down the roof will work, unless there's another fault of course ... great channel btw

Good video guys! if you don’t mind me saying I actually cringe when you put a jump pack On a long-term dead battery car! although the battery is dead it is also in a sulphated state and will have sulphate crystals shorting out the +& - plates when you apply the jump pack The short circuits in the battery can get transmitted into the car hence your immobiliser fault I have also seen sulphated batteries cause alternator failure, comfort control modules to pack up and complete mileage Erasure! (Blank screen) What I do is carry an 063 Fiesta/polo battery which is small easy to transport and will start most cars along with the jump pack if you need to, i’ve seen a lot of vehicles suffered damage because of people jumpstarting them.
The door control module and airbag faults will be probably down to breaks in the wiring between the door pillar and door.
It’s a common fault and the door control module will probably not be faulty
Defo going to look at this Car Vertical checker, I normally used the AA one.
Looks as though that had the flat battery problem, affecting everything for a while after a battery recovery. At least the project is progressing in the right direction, even if it is still a work-in-progress case. If a few bits can solve all the issues without breaking the bank, it looks like you have a potential winner for a flip sale. Keep them coming and keep watching your friendly breaker, you might require some tactical spares support. It is certainly not worth firing the new spare parts canon at it at the moment.

Rob. The noise while you opened the door is specific for lock dying. It does that before it ultimatly doesn't allow to open the door.

Guys, it might be worth checking Sciroccos for the window module, Eos and Scirocco share some parts and Sciroccos also do the window drop thing when opening the door. Also, as someone else has said you almost certainly have incorrect coding in a module somewhere as the instrument panel shows 4 doors. I'd suggest you get VCDS on it.
Always check the wiring loom for roof if there is any issues, during operation the stress on the loom can break wires eventually.

For anyone trying to do a caliper job like this, common on these model of cars, a new caliper off Ebay for it are only £25-35, you can rebuild them for £5-10.
Because the piston rotates the ram wont work very well on it. Best way to get the pistols free if seized is to buy a wind back tool that has a hex head on the handle side and use an impact wrench on it, as it is rotating and compressing at the same time. Also clamp off the brake line and open the bleed nipple before you do it to let any internal pressure out, that may have built up from galvanic corrosion, as the caliper casting is Aluminium and the pistol and internals are Steel. For anyone that may need some help with the same issue. Also a lack of brake fluid changes have an effect.

Had one with issues before rob .known for water in boot. moduel harnes goes green etc.can damage module but cheap but may need to be coded.just an issue i had mite help.👍
Summer's coming - love the way you always look on the bright side! Why does the instrument panel show the rear offside door open on a 3 door car? What mileage has it done? Not sure how popular/well known hence valuable EOS's are but it should sell to an Instagram subscriber no problem. Steering wheel chrome VW logo looks worn - worth getting the one off the Kent Auto car? I appreciate you want to look at it later but if it is anything to do with the rear side window mechanism it might be worth getting the Kent Auto one before anyone else does..

Looks like a good car, shame those units had gone off the car at Kent Autos but that's the way the cookie crumbles. Should be a quick turnaround so long as the motor and door unit are quickly sourced. My Vivaro van stated throwing up all sorts of codes - a new battery sorted them all, seems that modern electronic systems don't like low voltages. Great video again as ever.

Rob all VW group cars when the battery goes dead or is disconnect you have to go over 5mph to get the steering angle sensor and traction control out 👍
Hi guys, had a simular issue, which is common with EOS when the battery goes flat, what u can try is hold the main window control up for 5sec then cycle up down, if that does not work it need to be reprogramed by a dealer as it thinks it is a 4 door vw vs 2 door. Once u fix that the roof will work
