Very helpful video thank you. When priming at the end though, I find it easier to use a Sealey syringe pump. Simply attached the clear hose to the return pipe and pull the plunger until you see clear fuel with no bubbles. . Much easier than those bleed tools
Отличная инструкция! Жаль, что не нашёл её раньше, не мог понять как крышка фильтра снимается- тянул вверх, боялся сломать. Откручивал корпус, оказалось плотное кольцо.

Thank you very much for the helpful and detailed video I have 2.0 tdci Kuga and having hard start at mornings. I used hand pump to bleed air out. But nothing changed. I am searching a solution. If you could advice anything I would be more than happy.
I met one guy recently, who used to start diesel car same as petrol without waiting for glow plug sign to go off... Just a thought ;) Any other reasons could be different. What do you mean by hard start? Is it like a bad battery or just rough engine work while it's cold?
Thanks for the video, was a great help! I changed the filter no problem but couldn't bleed the system . I definitely have air in system as can see it but when I attach siphon it cannot draw enough fuel to clear it. I also tried syringe type. Any ideas? Car starts fine.
I have ordered the tool for the oil filter. You make it look so easy using this simple tool. I have a Ford Galaxy 2011 Titanium X. It would be great if you can do a video on common faults on this vehicle and how to resolve them for FG owners to save huge mechanic costs. If I can suggest one more video to your list, is rock chip and scratch correction with a DA polishing machine.

When did you change fuel filter? If it was long time/miles, it's always good idea to refresh it, they don't cost that long. As for engine management light, you need to scan it to see what code it's giving you. I have little bluetooth scanner from eBay, it's not expensive and it helps to give you idea what's going on with your car before you start spending money for garages. Hi, I am currently have ford smax and it is on its last legs so trying to decide between sharan and galaxy. May I have your opinion as you owned both cars. THANK YOU!
That Galaxy is not mine, it's my friends. However I still have an opinion. Personally I prefer Sharan for few reasons: 1. VW is better built and designed. Higher quality and mechanically better to work on. That's not just me - few mechanics I know said that. 2. There's lots of workshop manuals, lots of technical info widely available for VW (you can buy Elsawin on eBay). There are few things that I can't do for my friends Galaxy, because I don't have info how to. 3. With all 7 seats up Sharan's boot (trunk) is bigger, despite both of them don't have spare wheel. However! - New Galaxy, after 2015 comes with a spare wheel, but I don't know much about that model. 4. If you buying it as a taxi or if you have kids - I think that sliding doors are safer. Advantage of Galaxy - normally it's cheaper to buy. There's something I must say about both of them - whichever you choose, don't take automatic gearbox, whether that's VW DSG or Ford PoweShift, they are temperamental, require good service every 30.000 miles with expensive oil. Manual gearbox is reliable as hammer and requires no maintenance apart for clutch once in a while, and if it's not a taxi, probably once in a lifetime. I have a review about Sharan on my channel. All of that is my personal opinion, and if you'll buy Sharan that gives you trouble - please don't blame me :)
Don't remember brand (my friend bought it himself), neither I know the part number, don't normally get them for filters. Just get/call into any car parts shop and ask for filter - they will give few choices of different brands that will fit your car.

In UK we have European standard EN 590, so apparently filter can last up to 60.000 miles. What I normally do - change it every second oil change.

Yes mate...new battery etc ...It turns over but the engine doesn`t kick in/start...try it a few times [could be up to ten times] then it starts and runs A OK and will run all day until We stop it...Thought at first it might be the remote/battery on the key until we used the spare set...same thing...its just as if its short of fuel with none to start it as if it needs to prime itself...hope that helps...
Maybe faulty fuel pump (diesels have 2), or maybe some trapped air in the fuel system... The air probably would get through by now.. Maybe scan it with some diagnostic tool?

Hi mate, I wonder if anyone having problem with adblue heater, I read on the web it is a common problem with VW sharan??? My mechanics said it will cost an eye watering £500 to replace 😥😥
Yes - I have the same problem! And I had it for a while now - few months. Do you get fault code P202A? I was planning to fix it by myself, but couldn't find time for that. Especially when this problem doesn't seem to be affecting anything. When I work, I clear the error with Bluetooth reader and it doesn't come back while engine is running :) AdBlue tank is accessible by removing rear bumper. Manual says you have to empty it before removing, because it may be holding up to 17 litres of adblue. Heater element apparently is like a cup that sits on a top of adblue tank. It shouldn't be that difficult. Parts might cost about 200-300 pounds though. I'm gonna wait a little bit, because I have an appointment on 30th of June with VW dealership regarding that emissions scandal - they are going to remap my ecu. And, because that is also related to AdBlue some how, I'm gonna wait to see what they say first.
WheelsAndMotors I am having P202B, I have read VW in united states has extended the warranty for adblue heater because this is a common problem with VW, the new warranty is 120000 miles or 10 years, I have talked to VW UK and they don't have any information about this
WheelsAndMotors I talked to local VW dealer to book emission software update and they said as long as engine management is on they can not apply the update as it might cause further problem
Can't we just, turn on the egnition, let it like that for like a minute to let the fuel pump to remove the air bubbles from fuel filter housing and fuel lines to the gas tank?
Unfortunately, we can't. This used to work on older diesel cars, but after about 2009 pump activates only for few seconds. In my VW I use software to activate fuel pump. This Ford is a hassle.

After how many miles should change this filter
It depends on fuel quality. I think with European standard diesel they can last up to 60.000 miles, but I replace it every 20.000.

WheelsAndMotors I am having P202B, I have read VW in united states has extended the warranty for adblue heater because this is a common problem with VW, the new warranty is 120000 miles or 10 years, I have talked to VW UK and they don't have any information about this
Haider Zainy I'll see what they say on 30th and let you know. If it comes to fixing myself. I'll make a video.
WheelsAndMotors I talked to local VW dealer to book emission software update and they said as long as engine management is on they can not apply the update as it might cause further problem

А нельзя в место груши подключить насос на 12v и им прокачать воздух?
Чем угодно, в какой-то момент груша уже не тянула...
These have an electric fuel pump no need to bleed it
How do you activate that pump? In previous models, you just put ignition on and it works. With newer models it doesn't work. Only software.
Is your model 2014
Yes it was. That car is gone now.
