You must try Montreal style bagels - St. Viateur is open 24 hours and they seriously have the most amazing bagels. Try the poppy seed and the sesame ones hot from the wood oven. Quite different from the NYC style ones which I enjoy too.
I think the naked guy sculpture is remind us of the human suffering that goes on in New York hidden from our eyes. The artist forces us to acknowledge that suffering and does so by juxtaposing the sculpture of an crying everyday Joe with the swanky location.

DUDE! Why are you advising people to "always get your bagels toasted?" That's bad advice man. New York bagels are so perfect on their own, that they do not need to be toasted. A good bagel has a crunchy shell, and a moist, chewy center, why mess that up by making it hard?
