He stays healthy bcuz he ain't tackling at the point of attack a lot of his tackles comes from chase downs..Him knowing the defense and him performing in it at a high level is two totally different things I'd rather have a person like james harrison who at one time didn't know the defense either but performed at a high level just off football instincts...don't forget no team wanted this man services that's why the Steelers didn't pick up his 5th year.

Can’t even get 5 min to fill, he’s on a one year deal because that’s not who Steelers want for the future. Which means they gave up on the SS position this year

Great signing. Solidifies the Steelers back end, Minkah likes playing with the guy (said so himself), and gives the young guy another year to continue to improve as he has year in and year out. This is a win-win!

He's all those things. Been consistently healthy. He has improved year after year. But let's keep things in reality. They didn't pick up his 5th year option bc of his poor coverage skills. He consistently got beat on 3rd downs. They attacked Edmunds when it counted. So this is more of a desperation move rather than a option

Hes durable ill give him that. But this is just ho hum move by steelers. We need more out of that position and id like him alot better if he wasnt such a shoddy tackler. Hes average but i get they want stability and i know Minkah likes the chemistry but i was hoping they draft a feared hitter but probably not now.

Improvement still needs to be made. The Dline is old and injury prone, linebacker core could be elite if Devin bush plays to his full potential and the secondary is still suspect due to the outside corners

I guess since nobody else wanted him not even for a backup...him & Karl Joseph damn near have the same deal and I'm hoping a healthy Karl Joseph with a full camp beats him out..I mean not one team gave this man an offer.
If he is such a good safety, why didn't anyone sign him in free agency? Probably because he is just an average player at best.
Edmunds is terrible considering his draft selection, hes out of place, terrible in coverage & far from a hard nose run stopper. He was a panic draft pick, people base his play on “better than mitchell” well……thats not really a high standard, he was kept to keep depth, we need speed & competency for the defense we run & he brings neither.
You do realize he was part of the 2019-2020 defense that dominated right? We don’t need All Pros at both safety positions we need someone who compliments Minkah and can play in the box which Edmunds does well. He also is never hurt. They saved 5 million in cap by not getting his 5th year and signing him to a dirt cheap 1 year. You’re an absolute moron if you think this was a bad move.

Edmunds hasn’t reached his ceiling. To me, he’s been really close to breaking out. Just a step off. Against NFL receivers that 1 step will make ya look bad. He’s closed that gap a little more every year. Hopefully,this is the year it all comes together. Physically he is a stud. Plays the run nicely.

Go look at the Tyranns stats compared to Edmunds stats last year. Edmunds had a better season and is dirt cheap. Tyrann isn’t worth what he is asking.
