This restaurant looks awesome, and that owner looks like one outstanding businessman. This place should expand out across the country. I love the idea of pan-Asian restaurants, serving all the different cuisines; why not have one stop for Chinese, Japanese, Thai? Even add Korean, Vietnamese, Filipino, Indonesian, Malaysian, Singapore! The best part is that all the food culturally cross-contaminates, as in New Orleans, and new dishes get born. The future of America is people like this owner.
I've seen many that try this model, yet it almost never works due to inconsistencies and sub-par cuisine. Although, it seems this restaraunt cooks quality dishes that are true to their respective roots. However, I've never eaten here :(
I LOOOOOOOVE this place. He didn't really get into it, but their Hibachi steakhouse is phenomenal. I mean, it's better than Benihana's. This place is for real folks. Second to none.
This place does have the absolute best Chinese food I've ever had. It is the only place in Chicago that I did Chinese food. As a matter of fact I will be having some tonight LOL😁😁😁
I live pretty close to this place and there was a chef that used to work there that quit because he hated the owner. He opened his own Chinese restaurant using his own recipes and it takes so much better than chi-tung. His place has a way better menu too.
The time honored advice for judging the quality of Chinese restaurants is the more Chinese customers (bonus points if they can't speak English), the better the restaurant.
There's gotta be something shady going on. Seems like an impossible business model. He's paying a HUNDRED employees every day? They have to put out an order every 8 seconds to make money?
vegetables and noodles/rice + cheap cuts of meat are all low cost, they're then sold at a higher price. He probably doesn't pay the cooks much more than minimum wage of course. The staff numbers are there because of the volume of sales, if the sales were less the staff would be smaller.
Probably doesnt care about delivery because hes signed up with doordash... his employees arent making deliveries...i work for doordash and have delivered food. Food was not done in 8 seconds and i had a 45 min commute to deliver food. I dont accept orders from there anymore.
I'm definitely going there and the good thing is I'm not to far from the restaurant...The food looks amazing. I always doubt this place because I wasn't sure if the food was good but now looking at this video there is no doubt for sure....
This manager is a psychopath, you can see he's trying to drive the competition out, a meal served in 8 seconds and we deliver everywhere.OBVIOUS.Hes probably got chefs working for him that have come from collapsed restaraunts nearby.
missymya3972, that's the attitude of Chinese-Americans or Chinese immigrants who feel more affinity for China than for their own, or newly adopted, country. Obviously if you're fresh off the boat and you're used to old world Chinese food, then you're not going to like Chinese-American. On the other hand, if you've been in America for generations, then you're going to like Chinese-American just as much as any other American would. It's not about the food, it's about your national identity and where your loyalty lies.
I'm Chinese and I just think that's snobbish. If it is good, it is good. I stick with some of the authentic restaurants that serve mostly to Chinese because I am used to that food and can stomach it. But just because it is authentic, it doesn't mean it is automatically good for everyone.
Yeah they deliver anywhere but what they don’t tell you how much they charge for that and of course you get your food in two minutes that’s because everything in the back is microwaved
hahahaha, that is just a blow normal standard street food in Bejing China now in chicago wow! Once Im in chinatown I am like oh where are we? are we still living in 100 years ago?? Want to taste real chinese food? you better go there.
OMG !!!! I really loved this place and would go often. Great Chinese, Japanese, and Thai, until a friend of my sisters actually saw a mouse on her table. For that reason I am out. They apologized and offered her a drink. Done ✅
Whoa! Chi Tung? I’m Asian and while it doesn’t make me an expert in all things Asian, this place lacks authenticity. HOWEVER, it is clean, they are busy so you know the food is fresh, and for an American palate it is actually fine but to call it Chicago’s best is a stretch! No, no, no. One thing to note though, there aren’t too many Asians in Evergreen Park, Oaklawn, and the surrounding Chicago area. So to expect Asian diners is very unlikely.
I think the guy forgot to mention that his staff is hard working...
😂😂😂😂
*They Wok ing hard !!!*
Everyone wok rewwy hard !
😂😂😂
🤣

This place does have the absolute best Chinese food I've ever had. It is the only place in Chicago that I did Chinese food. As a matter of fact I will be having some tonight LOL😁😁😁
I don’t mind waiting to make sure my food is fresh. I don’t need it in 8 seconds.
I do, I got a restaurant cuz I’m hungry
Someone must complain about something.
I live pretty close to this place and there was a chef that used to work there that quit because he hated the owner. He opened his own Chinese restaurant using his own recipes and it takes so much better than chi-tung. His place has a way better menu too.

This place is so good
There's gotta be something shady going on. Seems like an impossible business model. He's paying a HUNDRED employees every day? They have to put out an order every 8 seconds to make money?
What blows my mind is the delivery. So I could order from him even though I'm 25 minutes away without rush hour? That seems nuts.
You don't understand !!! *They Wok ing hard !!!*
vegetables and noodles/rice + cheap cuts of meat are all low cost, they're then sold at a higher price. He probably doesn't pay the cooks much more than minimum wage of course. The staff numbers are there because of the volume of sales, if the sales were less the staff would be smaller.

Look at how saucy those Chinese American dishes are. No wonder there are no Chinese customers shown in this TV episode.
Chi tung translates to people hardworking?

chinese food“s making is complex, big order makes every employees tired 。it”s same in most every chinese restaurant.
I was told that if there are little to no Chinese customers in a Chinese restaurant then it is not authentic and keep going...
missmya3972 I don't think they cater as being authentic. It's mostly Americanized Chinese food
missmya3972
I've been here it's actually really good! !

What should they do? Go down to Chinatown & hire plants?
Does your theory hold for Pizza joints.
Go check their parking lot. It's ALWAYS FULL...
Yeah they deliver anywhere but what they don’t tell you how much they charge for that and of course you get your food in two minutes that’s because everything in the back is microwaved
Never given the address and you should always give an idea of the price for a basic order!
The owner's got operations all computerized.
Didn’t they have bugs in the food? Like didn’t an employee sabotage the food?🤮
great show - get rid of that host
