Your pole holders rack sucks man all you need are pvc pipes cut and mount them to your down pipes on yorr bike rack with hose clamps and noch them on top then put your pole straight up in side pvc pipes done deal !!!!!!!! I invented this 30 years ago !!!!!!?!??
Hey Chris, bat ray is correct, I have done a lot of shark fishing, rays are a by catch that are slimy and stink bad! never bring them on my boat! best way is to sturgeon leader, easy to get off the hook and sharks can't bite off the leader....
When I was a kid I used to ride my bike or walk to a gravel pull out and catch sharks and rays down near Tony's Seafood in Tomales Bay, and locals and neighbors would always stop, ask if the fishing was good, and talk a while. My bike was a total junker and so was my old Okuma spinning combo, but it never stopped me from getting big bites. This video reminded me of those good days. Tight lines!
14:58 youre kinda right chris, no teeth! actually i think they do have teeth technically but they are more like rubbing plates and not sharp pointed things at all. thus the nice way to handle them is from the mouth. im not 100% sure, but i think they use those crushing/rubbing plates to eat crustaceans and clams and other bivalves. i have seen a lot of people hate on these nice bat rays and maybe people can find it in there hearts to do better. its very easy to pick them up by two fingers in the month and then the stinger is always away from you. very very easy to control that way so its a low stress situation once you get used to it. yes they are slimy, but its not a problem. i suspect they DO NOT like fingers in the spiracles, which are the two holes on top there they use to pump water to breathe with, so no fingers there please. also, both the sharks and the rays benefit from giving the barb a squeeze so that you can get the hooks out more easily after landing them. they have a tough leathery skin which really gets torn up pretty badly from the barbs ripping through. if the barb is crushed some, you wont need the plyers to get the hook out often, but its best to be prepared with them. they dont shake hooks out in the fight i find. they do last a while out of water so keep your cool and do a nice release for them. please dont just cut the line in frustration and drop them in the rocks. (something ive seen too many times) they wont survive that. enjoy the tough fight!😂🤣😂

They have a very hard Bite.
It can hard to get your pliers back.
Dude, you seriously almost got stung
Why did it feel like sales pitch?
Because no salmon season!
@@jonconner3019 wow, !!
What ounce what were you throwing
I just use barbless hooks. Makes it easier to release.
Nice intro song Chris!

I like the way you were Johnny on the spot with those bites. If ya have drag too tight. One could lose some expensive gear 🎣🎣🎣🦈
Chris-love the variety on your videos-ocean, river, now biking!
Nice Job
Thank you for making these videos
If you fish right at the inlet on a slack tide then its pretty much guaranteed fish there 🤙
Fished here last Sunday and got 2 leopards and a ray, great video!
