Brillant video Patrick, I have the very same lawnmower mine is a 1978 mtd lawnflite. ,the trick to stop the belt from falling off .,when engaging and disengaging the blade ,bring the engine down to idle and slowly move the lever this allows the blades to start up smoother, and when it's fully engaged to bring the revs up. You are right aboat it being troublesome .mine has been put to the back of the shed as I rather work on something that doesn't break down all the time. 😅, anyways merry Christmas
