Macy and Thorne are a great couple in the story. They are great actors and excellent singers. It’s wonderful to see so much talent and chemistry.

This rather makes it tragic that over a year after this episode, the producers chose to break up Jeff Trachta and Bobbie Eakes (not Thorne and Macy) when they replace Trachta with Winsor Harmon.

*Thorne and Macy's happily ever after*
This episode is, for all intents and purposes, the end of Thorne and Macy's story. They have earned their happily ever after through their "trial by fire", all the conflicts in their past history have been revisited and resolved, all the loose ends are ti ed up, and anything that happens after this point will feel like an unnecessary sequel, trying to breathe life into resolved plot points by making the characters regress rather than develop.
The feeling of Thorne and Macy having "earned their hap py ending" is reinforced in several ways through the writing:
First of all, the wedding takes place at the end of a very dark storyline where both of their lives were at stake, their commitment to each other was tested, and they both had to save each other.
Second, the enormous contrast between their _first_ marriage, which was met with a lot of disapproval (or reluctant approval) due to the con flict between their families, and this marriage, which has the unanimous support of _the entire cast_ (as shown by everyone present, including both the Forresters and the Spectras, bursting into applause not once but twice during this episode) - it is very unusual for a wedding on B&B not to be opposed by _anyone._
Third, Macy getting her singing voice back. This is a big deal for _this particular character_ because her singing voice is also her _narrative voice_ (and throughout her character history we have seen her struggle to "make her voice heard", both in the literal and the figurative sense). She is not "whole" as a character without it - Macy being unable to sing is like a bird being unable to fly. And the way she is getting it back - by discovering that during all the months that she was focused on trying to save Thorne, rather than the loss of her own singing career, her voice had time to heal - makes it feel like a _reward_ for her loyalty and courage, rather than just a random fortunate event.
Fourth, the way the wedding episode ends with everyone applauding and Thorne and Macy saying "I love you" to each other _as the "royal" Forrester theme plays in the background_ - fra ming this as a "royal Forrester wedding" and Macy, at long last, as a legi timate "Forrester princess" who is fully accepted into the family. This was reinforced in the previous episode by Stephanie going to see Macy before the ceremony, and is mirrored earlier in this episode by Sally fully accepting Thorne as a member of the Spectra family by suggesting that he call her "mother Spectra". Thus, the bad blo od between the Forrester and Spectra families that has been a source of tension for Thorne and Macy from the start has now finally been set aside as everyone is united in their support of the newlyweds.
There is no possible place they could go from here, in terms of narrative structure. It is a "perfect" ending. The next time we see Thorne and Macy in a real storyline, they will be a completely different couple, with a completely different dynamic, a vastly different Thorne, an out-of-character Macy, and a much less well-defined trajectory. There is virtually no continuity between the two versions of Thorne and Macy. The "original" Thorne/Macy story arc, with the characters and the couple as Bill Bell envisaged them, ends here.

Great B&B wedding. The Bikini was a great idea as a venue because so many significant things that have happened to Macy over the past few years have happened there. Brooke and Ridge are so ridiculous trying to get Rick to cling to them, they are treating him like a 4 year old. 🥴 Macy is just beautiful. She so deserved this one happy occasion. 💞

Well, there could be some truth to this according to what is transpiring now in recent releases of season 13. Thorne is definitely vying for Ridge's current place (end of season 8).
For those of you who are also watching Season 13:
The wedding vows at 2:24 here are _identical_ to the wedding vows when Eric and Stephanie get married in *episode 3163* (at 12:05 in that episode). And that 1999 wedding is deliberately staged by Eric in a way to _remind Thorne that he is better off with Macy than with Brooke._ So by using the identical words that were used for Thorne and Macy's happiest wedding, it appears that Eric was trying to send a message from S8 to S13.

Jeff T is the version of Thorne I liked most, only bc they allowed this Thorne to kind of have his own talents and life, and not only exist to run behind Ridge's exes.
Looks wise, Winsor H was the Thorne I thought looked the most like a product of Steph and Eric and the most like a brother of Ridge. But boy were his storylines awful, and certainly not a reflection of any of the history between Macy and Thorne.

Eric Jr is missing alot of opportunities to verbally retaliate against CJ, bc he could be just as hurtful to CJ if he really tried.
But the poor kid is just so embarrassed by his brother being his father (or his uncle, or grandma lol) that he clearly isn't thinking of fighting back with words that could easily hurt CJ too.
@@TriniT21 I think that is precisely what is eating into Eric Jr, more so than any embarrassment that CJ may feel when it's parents' day in school and he hasn't much, if any, recollection of a sound male role in his life. On-screen his strongest male influence was Anthony. Rick has role models, and he has to deal with the reality that his brother is 'doing' his mother. And that's a really tough one to shrug off.

Funny how BOTH Brooke and Throne Who BOTH were in the episode from 1990 when Caroline married Ridge are in the same wedding episode here Where Thorne is a much better man VS where he was in 1990 Compared to Brooke who is STILL pulling every dirty underhanded backhanded trick just to "Keep" Ridge.
Seeing them like this and then thinking about what happened years later with Brooke 🫤
Too bad the singing duo aspect went away once Jeff Trachta left the show sometime in 1996 because from what I recall, Winsor Harmon couldn't sing. Lol. And honestly, Trachta's singing is okay; I hate when his voice would go higher because it didn't sound that good. I guess it's the way he sounded in his upper register that was weird to me.
Well, Winsor Harmon did record an album at one point. And, well, let's just say it was a very good decision not to let his Thorne keep singing with Macy.

Both boys have father issues (one father absent/ the other having a father and a father figure (brother) he doesn't need) but they still get into fights instead of bond over their messed up families.

@@mara4450 because the focus is on Brooke's child and family, not CJ one.... Brooke would have prayed God for Bridget to be Eric's during her pregnancy and not Ridge.
@@babs4848 That's why I don't really like that writing. They have aged the kids so that Rick can be bullied but at the same time the boys act as if their families have not been connected before.
Both boys should be aware that CJ's dad had been Kristen's first husband (no secret), even if they might not be aware that Kristen also had been the woman Clarke had an affair with while married to Sally.
With that history, Rick could taunt CJ as well:
Rick: And who is your daddy C.J? Oh wait, it is my sister's ex-husband.
