How fitting that just before the wedding is about to start, both Thorne and Macy, independently of each other, experience something like _stage fright._ And that both of them either say or are told that it will go away once they see the other's face.
It is a reminder that they are both performers, and it's also a good sign because according to soap logic, by _not_ being overly confident they are doing the _opposite_ of jinxing the ceremony.
And there's a call back to the Rotterdam concert as well (which as you've argued, functioned as a kind of wedding for them). Right before Rotterdam, Macy gets dire news about her condition and collapses at the end of the concert. But before the wedding, she gets good news about her condition and is able to enjoy it without inhibitions. In fact, the drama at the wedding has nothing to do with Thorne and Macy -- it's the A plot intruding with the Ridge/Brooke/Taylor drama. On one hand, this makes Rotterdam more of a complete Thorne and Macy storyline. The highs and the lows were all theirs in that version. On the other hand, the wedding implies that there are no more "lows" for Thorne and Macy (so another storyline has to supply those).
@@NewYorkNick0607 yes, you are right about the doctor's visit creating a symmetry between this wedding and the Rotterdam concert (which also fits with Thorne and Macy having "stage fright" before the wedding, and of course ending up singing together).
But actually, I think the show does create a "complete Thorne and Macy storyline" by keeping them _away_ from the drama in the other storylines for the duration of the wedding. That is, _we_ know about all the other things going on at the wedding but _they_ don't. And they will conveniently leave the wedding party early, before things start getting messy, so it will still be a "perfect" day but only for _them._

*Brooke's weddings vs Macy's weddings*
Since Brooke's last wedding was _also_ a beach wedding, it is possible to make some interesting comparisons (especially since the show _itself_ commented on this parallel). The differences between these weddings (as well as their previous weddings) actually say a lot about the character differences between Brooke and Macy, who occupy similar character positions because they are both "low-status" characters marrying into the "high-status" Forrester family.
What is the most distinctive about Brooke's weddings is their "fairy tale" quality. Brooke has _deliberately_ staged them to be larger than life, like the royal wedding at the end of a fairy tale. They have been visually breathtaking and filmed on location, with h ot air balloons, tents in the desert, horses, sand castles and so on, and have been a way for Brooke to live out her romantic fantasies. She has been the one making these decisions (telling Eric how she wanted the biggest most extravagant wedding ever, and planning the wedding by herself when she was about to marry Ridge), making herself the protagonist in the wedding.
By contrast, Macy and Thorne have always been shown making their wedding plans _together._ They have never had "fairy tale" weddings but rather "normal" weddings where the focus has been on inviting friends and family (and hoping they will show up, get along, and have a good time). There is a sense that they care less about the "how" and the "where" of the wedding, and more about the "who". And, of course, each of their weddings is literally or figuratively a "duet" (both are equal participants), while Brooke's weddings feel more like solo cadenzas (Brooke is the star).

@@marije25 That might be true, but the main reason for the recast I think was because the show wanted to reignite the Ridge v Thorne rivalry. A more agg ressive Thorne was needed to go after Taylor and Brooke.

She is confident as she should have been months ago. She panicked at the sight of Bridge at the Palace, watching their pictures in the magazines and working as a volunteer in their house.
What I' ve always liked about Taylor is the polite smugness she had most of the time with Brooke, even when she felt insecure.
Brooke on the other hand is usually mischievous when she feels insecure.
What is upsetting is Ridge who asked Taylor sympathy towards Brooke when they were married and she was pregnant, but now he is totally unaware about Brooke being most of the time malice with Taylor.
Wow I never knew we had another mother ( Maggie) sleeping with her daughter's boyfriend. I can't wait for Jessica to find out. I hate that they end up destroying Macy and Thorne and then when he marries Darla the writers destroyed that as well.
I always thought the young man playing Rick Jr was a great little actor for his age, and he reminds me of a younger Leonardo Dicaprio😊

*Stephanie's elusive acceptance*
Stephanie's short talk with Macy in this episode is very significant. The first time Thorne and Macy got married, Stephanie was the only one in Thorne's family who didn't "officially" come to the wedding (that is, she showed up but didn't make her presence known) because she didn't approve of Sally Spectra's daughter as Thorne's wife. And now, it is Stephanie who seeks out Macy before the ceremony specifically to welcome her to the Forrester family and thank her for everything she's done for Thorne. After five years, Stephanie has finally fully accepted Macy as a daughter-in-law. This indicates that what we're seeing here is basically the end of Thorne and Macy's original five-year story arc - it's the "happily ever after" that has eluded them all this time. And it's a well-written hap py ending because it feels _earned_ - it comes as a result of lessons learned and obstacles overcome.
Yes! And the recast marks the "end" of this chapter since Windsor Harmon's Thorne is written to be a completely different character. In a way, if they were going to break up Thorne and Macy anyway and never give them kids or make them a real endgame couple, it's better they recast and revamped and let Jeff Trachta's Thorne represent this time for the couple.
@@NewYorkNick0607 yes. The good thing about it is, like when a character dies while happily married, the pairing ends but it ends "untainted". So we can still picture Ridge and Caroline as a "true love story", and JT Thorne and Macy as another "true love story" (and *Esi* just made the observation that the show uses the same arrangement of the wedding music for this wedding that they used for the Caroline/Ridge wedding in 1990).
I have some more observations about this being the natural "conclusion" of Thorne and Macy's storyline, but I'll save them for tomorrow which IMO is the actual end point of their story.

FULL EPISODE 2114 These episodes are from 1995. Why do I have to wait for a new episode every day here on UA-cam? Since they are from 1995, I will never finish the entire series as long as I live with only one episode per day
