- Kaname Date Psyncer with the MPD and lead investigator on the New Cyclops Serial Killer case is a fantastic character. Through all the routes Date demonstrates remarkable skill and relentless determination to succeed regardless of obstacles. He's amazing and an absolute goof.

I know I might be 10 months late, but god damn is this a fucking fantastic character analysis of Date. You really manage to pick up the nuances in his bonds with the people around him, and how their qualities are all reflected in him.
Date is a character that means so much to me and I’m glad that someone can see all the things that make him the GOAT. Please keep up the amazing work!

He's such an amazing well thought character, and so many people get him wrong after a few immature jokes in the beginning. Him and Mizuki route are one of the biggest reasons why I fell love in the game. Loved the main story, but that route was so new to me, and so heartwarming. Thank you for covering exact best parts and explaining him so well!
The Mizuki route is so important for Date as a character and that's the route that made me certain that Mizuki would follow in Date's footsteps (as she did).

Date is such a unique character and deserves all the attention and appreciation
I'm genuinely amazed that your channel isn't larger, you do a great job at analyzing character relationships and motivations. It's refreshing to watch videos where people take the fictional world seriously and make judgments that are logical based off of in-universe explanations. So many people are too quick to be cynical!

and cant agree more on your read of his character, especially after being reminded of his less meme-able and softer aspects that once again come to life in the sequel, as well as his readiness to throw away own safety for the case/people he cares about

Does anyone know why in one of the endings A Set ask Date, "Are You?" but necer finishes the question. Im really curious as to what that means.
So my suspicion with that scene is that Iris was going to ask Date "Are you Uncle?". Which of course he is but just in a different body. That's at least what I think

Out of curiosity, what are your thoughts on Date in nirvanA Initiative?
He's still the lovable goober that we know from the first game, but his diminished role and taking him out of Mizuki (and everyone's) lives for several years felt really off to me. I wanted him to get the opportunity to grow his relationships with the characters and the game went the complete opposite direction.
